Quiet holiday

We picked this property as we wanted to get away from it all and it allowed us to do just that. The space was great - the pool was clean - the location was practical. Antonio, the caretaker, was very efficient and very discreet. Roberta was very helpful ahead of our arrival. Overall very pleased with our choice

Beautiful and comfortable property

This property is top notch. You get what you pay for and then some. Roberta was very responsive and went out of her way to make our stay go smoothly. We felt right at home… Will definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends who will want to experience the beautiful Provence!

Fabulous house near Aix-en-Provence!

We had a wonderful holiday! The owners, Roberta and Andrew were in contact before we arrived and told us to contact them should we need any help while we were there. The house was spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. It is well situated for visiting Provence but we were happy to spend most of our time on the lovely terrace beside the pool, reading, swimming, snoozing, having a nice glass of rosé..... Why would you want to go anywhere? We stocked up in the huge Carrefour hyper market(a couple of kilometres away) and made good use of the farm shop (which is within walking distance) and the ‘cave’ If you don’t fancy driving to Aix-en-Provence, you can park your car in the village and jump on the bus. There is a very regular service and it only takes about 20 minutes and costs €1,20. We had a very nice lunch at Domaine et Cie, just a few minutes away from the house. We sat on the terrace under the the huge chestnut tree-gorgeous! We were unfortunate to suffer a power failure at the end of our stay but it in no way detracted from the overall pleasure we had in staying in this beautiful villa. Thank you to Paul, Ghislaine and Jonathan for their help and advice and to Laszlo, the dog for his lovely welcome on our arrival! We hope to go back someday ☀️🇫🇷☀️ P&M Sutherland & J&J Kelly

A Lovely Vacation

This home was everything I hoped for and more. I loved having the farm stand right down the road (not to mention the wine store right behind it!). The location was perfect for day trips around the countryside. We had a wonderful and restful time.

Glorious time in Provence.

The home and property were beautiful! We had a mix of andventures to surrounding villages and days spent just relaxing but the pool. Caretakers were helpful, pictures were very accurate and beds were super comfortable. Seven of us fit comfortably in the spacious house. A fabulous time!

The perfect setting and villa for our family reunion

From the moment we arrived Paul and Ghislaine Durrant (property caretakers) made us feel right at home, from explaining the inner workings of the home to suggesting local restaurants. The house and the beautiful gardens are ideal for groups of 4 - 10 and absorb guests effortlessly. Our family stayed for 2 weeks and at times had only 2 people in the villa at other times we had 8 adults and 2 small children, the house never seemed crowded. The house is well stocked with all the amenities you can think of and some you don't, like children's books in various languages. This is French living at its best. The location is ideal and you quickly become part of the surrounding towns and villages. We took day trips exploring the various regions every day and have acquired a great appreciation for the French culture. We have already recommended this villa to several of our friends and our family is contemplating a return visit. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. Lawrence Johnson - June 2017

A great week in Provence

The property was beautiful (as per the pictures) and fantastically located for Aix and local amenities. Having said that, we enjoyed the weather and the pool so much we barely left! The local restaurant is very good too for a nice meal out and a beautiful view. Would definitely come back...

Great location!

A lovely, comfortable home shielded from the road by a long driveway. Approx 10 minutes drive to Aix and ideal for visiting the main sights in Provence. Only a 3 minute drive to Carrefour supermarket. The pool area directly outside the main sitting room is well maintained and the pool which is quite deep was always cool and refreshing. We dined under the stars several evenings and were able to BBQ. We would thoroughly recommend La Residence for a relaxing holiday in Provence.

Superb one week stay

The property is as tremendous as the photos portray. Plenty of space for three couples to spread out. Andrew, Paul and Ghislaine provided great recommendations that made visiting Provence, eating in and dining out effortless. Highly recommended

Fantastic

We all had an absolutely fantastic time. " Best holiday to date" was the quote. In terms of feedback La Residence exceeded our expectations. The web photos didn't do it justice. The location was perfect. It was so convenient to make short trips to the wonderful villages and towns in Provence and Cote D Azur. The facilities were great. Very spacious and peaceful. The place was immaculate. The outdoor area was perfect for relaxing by the pool and having lunch and dinner. We found the whole process straightforward and directions spot on. Paul the caretaker was very friendly. We have already recommended it to our friends. Thanks very much for the opportunity to have our holiday at La Residence

Best Villa Ever!

My wife and I along with my son and his wife were here for a week in late May. We could not have asked for a better location as we toured the region daily and came back to this beautiful villa each afternoon. what great place to stay. It really is better than the pictures. The villa really makes you feel like you belong and are a part of the south of France. Everything was wonderful and the caretakers onsite were more than happy to answer any question we had about the area .I would certainly stay here again and recommend this property to anyone .

We loved it!

We stayed her win August 2015 as one couple from a large group. There is caretaker on site to help with anything you need, the place was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The pictures reflect how lovely the house is. The house is delightful, light and airy, well furnished. Pool is lovely. No hesitation recommending to anyone looking for a well managed and quality rental house.

AIX-CEPTIONAL Villa in Provence

Our group (2 families and a couple) had a fabulous time at this well appointed villa. Everything we needed was readily available and it was a shame we didn't have more opportunity to take advantage of the well stocked library and games supply! The local amenities are close by (avoid Saturday afternoons if you don't like crowds) and there are many tourist related sites within a short drive. Overall, a great spot which I can highly recommend.

Absolutely a beautiful villa

There were 7 in my group - 2 couples and 3 single women so the 5 bedrooms were just right. When we arrived, we were all impressed with how beautiful the villa and the grounds were. The kitchen was exactly what you expect when you picture a French Provencal kitchen, more than well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. We wound up cooking in more than eating out because it was so enjoyable being in such a beautiful, comfortable setting. There is a small village, Les Milles, 5 minutes away by car with a lovely restaurant as well as a couple of nice bakeries and Aix en Provence 15 minutes away for those who want to dine out. The villa is located ideally for visiting all the sights of Provence. The property does have caretakers living there but they are totally unobtrusive but there when you needed them. The bedrooms were all comfortable and the villa is beautifully decorated. I, as well as the other six visitors, would definitely recommend La Residence to anyone fortunate enough to go to Provence.

Picture perfect Provence

Our family stayed at La Residence and would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting to relax in a beautiful location only venturing out when the inclination takes you. We are a family of 5 who all need our own space at times and there are plenty of places indoor and outdoor to relax with a book or a glass of local Rose. A hire car is really needed though to get around and you can go as near (Aix is very pretty) or as far (The Verdon Gorge is really something) as you can be bothered really. A meal out in Cassis is not to be ,missed, at its best after dark for us. Plenty of space here, its a great hang out or base to see Provence and we'd recommend it to other families looking for a retreat from the hustle and bustle.

A Perfect Vacation Villa

This home is the perfect location to see Provence. It is a mere 5 to 8 minute drive to Aix where there are great markets, museums, restaurants and shopping. Marseille airport and the TGV are close by and easily accessible. If one has a car, there is no limit to easy day- trips, ours included Marseille, Cassis, Avignon, Arles, Gordes ,St Remy, Luberon hills and some in our party even managed Nice. The house is well designed with a large terrace for pool and patio meals. A well treed property with lovely landscaping provides great privacy from surrounding neighbors but allows for various outdoor activities. The large house is beautiful with sufficient room to easily accommodate group and/or solitary pleasures. The five bedrooms and three baths are separated into three sections, providing great privacy and quiet. The kitchen is a cook's dream with good appliances and ample room for comfortable meal prep while still being able to allow for others to congregate. There is a great fruit and vegetable shop within walking distance where one can also buy wine, cheese and sweets if a larger shop at Carrefour is not desirable. The property manager Paul and his lovely wife are available when needed for advice, directions or help but are unobtrusive. The only slight negative would be the rush hour traffic on the small road in front of the property-otherwise, everything was perfect. We had the most memorable two weeks with family and friends and this house certainly helped to make it so. A & B Hilburt-Canada

Perfectly Provence

When you arrive at La Residence, you can't help but be excited when those huge gates swing open and you make your way up the drive. Will the house be everything that was promised? It was. When I moved to Australia last year, I wanted to find the perfect place to host friends and family in the UK one year on. Somewhere we could relax, dine together and that the kids could play. This is exactly what La Residence offers. The house is equipped with everything you could need, (with the exception of a garlic crusher and zester...I'm a foodie!). It's in a great location for you to explore surrounding villages and sites, and you have a cute fruit and vegetable market at the end of the road, as well as the well stocked Carrefour. So large, it should be classed a village in itself. The bedrooms are well decorated, large and there are enough bathrooms to not warrant arguments. There are 4 double rooms, with the single room adjoining off of one of the doubles. This works well for a family with children. One of the doubles is situated in an annex, with a terrace separating it from the main house, and has its own bathroom. Perfect for anyone who doesn't want to be woken by little feet (and big voices) early in the morning. The lounge area was hardly used, due to the glorious weather, but great for watching family films in the evenings. The house is full of books and some English DVDs too, as well as family games including a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle that had the entire family adding a piece here and there, as well as petanque and badminton, which we played on the lawn. Dining outside for breakfast, lunch and dinner was easy. We did have to bring chairs outside from inside, but the table was plenty large enough for 10 people. The olive grove made a great setting for a picnic too! Aix en Provence nearby (20 min by car) is pretty Provence personified, while I recommend a drive to Les Gorges Du Verdon for a family day of fun, and of course to the Cote D'Azur. It's all easily in reach if you hire a car. And you really will need to hire a car. The roads around the villa offered good running terrain, while the local village of Les Milles (5 mins by car/20 min walk) has great patisseries for fresh croissants and bread, as well as a lovely little bar where you can sit in the square while they bring you cold drinks from across the road. The caretakers live onsite, connected to the villa, but largely keep to themselves, and the cleaners are wonderful.

Amazing Home! Perfect Location! Fabulous Host!

My husband and I and two other couples stayed here this past June for a week. This was our honeymoon as we couldnt take a trip last year when we were married. Our stay here was so much better than anything we could have expected. We were so impressed with the home upon arrival. I don't think the photos they have truly do it justice. The house is a bit larger than we anticipated and perfectly taken care of. I am a bit of a neat freak so this definitely suited my tatste. My favorite part of the house of course was the outdoor area and the pool, but the kitchen and the outdoor balcony were close seconds. The house is totally private you can hear the birds chirping in the morning, but also conveniently located to anything that you would need to fill up the fridge on your stay. We were so close to Aix and Marseille. One couple even took a day trip to St. Tropez. Be sure to add Cassis to the list of places you visit as it is absolutely stunning. Andrew was very professional and super quick and helpful with all of my inquiries. the housekepers have their own seperate home and can help with any recommendations of things to visit. The best recommendation they gave was to visit the Cahteau Pioline which is in town and gorgeous! We plan to go back either this year or the next with our immediate family. We couldnt have asked for a better trip and place to stay for our first visit in the South of France.

Stunning

La Residence is even better than the pictures. The location is perfect for touring Provence, an hour from almost everywhere. Aix is 10 minutes. You will need a car. The property is secluded and picturesque. The home is furnished very well and the caretakers are there to help but not intrusive. If you're lucky you'll get to see the wild pigs that cross the street nearby. Highest recommendation!

Why they chose this property

Pass through the bold iron gates and up the long sweeping drive and you have arrived at your destination. Choose a special spot in the garden and you can be alone in your Provencal bliss. Not another building in sight and the only sound you hear are the cicadas playing their symphony and the breeze catching the proud oak tress. Down the road is a brief walk down to the local farm shop and dinner supplies are replenished.

What makes this property unique

If you want to be energetic and explore the region (almost) everything you would hope to see and do is just a 30-minute drive away. There is something for everyone, of all ages. And when you want to just relax, read, swim, play, explore - there is a beautiful garden to call your own.
