Charming!
We absolutely loved our weekend at Rebel's Creek Resort. Such a cozy, welcoming home filled with lots of comforts. Tucked away in the woods with stream by the house. Backyard fence lined with chicken wire so our dogs could explore while outside with us. Roasted marshmallows over firepit. We certainly plan to return again.

Convenient to Lassen Volcanic NP
My wife, adult son, and I stayed at this VRBO during a recent two day trip to Lassen Volcanic NP. We enjoyed reading about the history of the home and the comfortable sofa and fireplace. The host had all the amenities available. The home has a washer and dryer that I didn’t recall seeing in the listing. It is located about 15 minutes from the entrance to the NP and Lake Manzanita. The home is a little dated (red carpet throughout that looks like the original carpet when the home was built). The beds were comfy and the outdoor setting is peaceful with plenty to explore. Great home to stay at if you’re visiting Lassen. There’s a wonderful pizza restaurant in Shingletown (Pioneer Hillside Pizza) to grab a hot meal after a long day visiting Lassen.

Hidden gem near Lassen
This is a retreat cabin, through and through. It's beautiful, surrounded by nature, and relatively secluded. There's no cell service, and the WiFi is o-k. It's definitely more rugged than a hotel, but clean and spacious. Host is responsive too. Plenty of cooking supplies, and we even saw some deer on-premise. At one point the power went out for ~12 hours at around 9PM, but it was the best thing to happen - no mechanical noise, and no light made for the perfect stargazing and relaxation experience. Super close to Lassen, and the house has its own interesting history (built by a former Shasta county medical officer back in the '70s). Would 100% come back

What makes this property unique

The beauty of the mountains can be found in the many lakes, streams, and forests. The elevation is about 4000 feet, so in a typical year, there is snow in the winter time, allowing for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and sledding. In the summer time, the main draw is Lassen Volcanic National Park. There are several points of interest within an hour's drive of Battle Creek Retreat. The springtime is beautiful with the redbud and dogwood in bloom. The fall is equally as beautiful with the many leaves of brilliant color. Our property provides activities within a short walk. Battle Creek runs along one border of our property. In fact our property goes to the middle of the creek. Kids and dogs alike love to play in the creek. Lake McCumber is within walking distance. There are several logging trails where guests can walk their dogs, although no motorized vehicles are allowed. On the back patio there is a gazebo, firepit, a picnic table, and a lot of seating. It is enclosed to give it a feel of complete privacy, although a lack of privacy is certainly not an issue at Battle Creek Retreat.
