About this property
The Green Cabin - A Forest Escape 5 Min to Lake & 20 Min to River
The Green Cabin was built in the 1950’s and we have tried to keep it as original as possible. When you walk in the front door the first thing that will jump out are the full wood paneled walls. This is all original Knotty Pine paneling and can be found throughout the entire cabin.
Upon entering the cabin you will see one bedroom, the main living room/TV room and a cabin style galley kitchen. The cabin has a full kitchen with pots, pans, toaster and microwave. The stove is electric and is a newer model. You will also find some essential cooking supplies, cooking spices, oil, sugar, but we do not guarantee these will be there as every group is different and some prefer to clear out the pantry, while other like to add.
The front bedroom has a Queen bed, a bedside table and a dresser. This cabin uses the AC in the main room to keep the cabin cool and there is also a standing fan for the back porch/second bedroom room. During the colder months the cabin is heated using the pot belly stove located in the main room. This both adds great ambiance to the cabin and efficiently keeps the cabin warm.
The back porch/second bedroom has a Queen bed and 2 Twin beds. The 2 twin beds are a trundle so you do not lose space in the back porch when you are not sleeping. The bathroom in this cabin is a little small, since it was built in the 1950’s, but it works very well. In addition, the faucet, light and water heater have all recently been upgraded.
This cabin is part of our 4 acre property that can be rented individually or all together.
There is a Ring Doorbell that will be on during your stay and faces right in front of the door on the steps. There is also 1 security camera that faces the road behind the cabin. The other houses on this property also have Ring Doorbells that face in front of their respective doors.
When rented individually please know that the BBQ area between the cabins is a shared space. Also, please respect the neighbors, both other renters and those who live in the area, by not being to noisy after 10 PM.
Lastly, the roads to this cabin are dirt, as are most roads in this area. With check in information I provide detailed directions on how to EASILY drive to the cabin on a packed dirt road with minimal bumps.

About the host
Hosted by Alexandria Gaudlitz
I am a native of San Diego, CA that has been traveling up the the Kern Valley my whole life. I enjoy all aspects of California, from the beach and sand to the rocky mountains of both Central and Northern California.
Why they chose this property
Stoney Pines, and this Green Cabin, has been in our family for over 40 years. This cabin was built back in the 1950s and we have tried to keep that feeling with the interior design of this cabin. With many years of great memories going to the lake in Summer and staying cozy and warm by the pot belly stove in Winter, we wanted to share this great property with other to make the same great memories.
What makes this property unique
One very unique aspect of this cabin and property are the pine trees. The previous owner was a pine tree enthusiast and planted many different types of pine trees all over this property. As the years have passed we have tried to continue the tradition by adding new pine trees in new areas and also where old trees have died. Another unique point of interest is our local Joshua Tree. Just outside the cabin's back door you will find an endangered Joshua Tree. These trees only grow in the Mojave Desert, which is very close to the property, and somehow we were lucky enough to have one on our property.
