What a perfect spot to base ourselves from. Many, many trips here and there, both in France but also Belgium, with the House at Mont des Cats being a perfect place to return to at the end of each day. We were welcomed warmly by Cynthia and the language barrier was no problem - the wonders of translator apps! We can’t recommend this place highly enough and so glad we stumbled upon it, whilst planning our trip to retrace some family history.

Das Haus liegt ruhig in der NĂ€he einer Abtei. Vor der HaustĂŒre kann man verschiedene Wandereouten starten. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten liegen 8 Autominuten entfernt.

Enjoyed our stay

We really enjoyed our stay at Mont des Cats. The house was very comfortable, spacious and light, perfect for a relaxing weekend. Lots to see too within easy driving distance. Already thinking about another visit soon.

Tres agrĂ©able sĂ©jour dans ce gĂźte trĂšs bien Ă©quipĂ©, dĂ©corĂ© avec goĂ»t avec un beau jardin et des terrasses pour profiter de la nature verdoyante. Maison idĂ©alement situĂ©e pour des promenades ainsi que proche des axes routiers. Beaucoup d'activitĂ©s de dĂ©couvertes Ă  moins d'une heure de route. La maison est situĂ©e dans une impasse extrĂȘmement calme dans un Ă©crin de verdure.

Une belle maison dans un beau environnement.

Nous avons passĂ© une semaine merveilleuse aux Monts des Cats. La rĂ©ception Ă©tait bonne, avec une explication claire. La maison est propre, spacieuse, meublĂ©e de façon moderne et entiĂšrement Ă©quipĂ©e. Nous nous sommes sentis complĂštement chez nous lĂ -bas. Nous avons trouvĂ© les matelas un peu durs, mais c'est une question de goĂ»t. Veuillez noter que la douche est directement reliĂ©e Ă  l'une des chambres. Mais ce n'Ă©tait pas un problĂšme pour nous en tant que famille. De plus, il y a une baignoire avec pommeau de douche dans la salle de bain. L'emplacement de la maison est trĂšs calme, avec seulement quelques marcheurs, coureurs et cyclistes devant le portail. Et il y a de nombreux meubles de jardin pour s'asseoir sur la terrasse et dans le jardin. De la maison, vous pouvez profiter de toutes sortes de promenades Ă  travers les magnifiques environs immĂ©diats et le long de l'abbaye. Et Godewaersvelde est idĂ©alement situĂ© pour visiter toutes sortes de lieux: Lille, La Piscine Ă  Roubaix, Louvre-Lens, Cassel, Ypres, Diksmuiden et certainement aussi la cĂŽte (Les deux caps et bien sĂ»r la belle plage de Bray-Dunes). En bref, un endroit oĂč revenir.

Stunning House in Amazing Location

We've rented many houses in France in the past 7 or 8 years and this is easily one of the best. The location is perfect for exploring the area and you are an easy drive to places like Bruuges, Ghent and even Brussels is only 90 minutes away. The house itself is very comfortable and they have provided just about everything you need. Although the house has 3 bedrooms, it should be noted that there is only one toilet. The master bedroom has a shower and sink and there is another bathroom with a tub and sink shared with the other two bedrooms. Just something you might want to take into consideration if there is a larger group. The house is on a remote dead end road and you don't get any traffic other than people walking to the adjacent Abbey. There were numerous times we saw people stop to look at the house and several made comments on how beautiful it was. The person who meets you is very nice and helpful, but I don't think she speaks English. The owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with and the overall booking process was easy. The only small thing that could be improved is the outdoor dining furniture. Other than that I highly recommend this location. We will definitely be making a return visit one day!
