Perfect little cabin in the country with great views of the Bighorn Mountains and surrounding countryside. Lots of wildlife to see. Perfect location in close proximity to Buffalo, Wyoming.
Loved the location! Close to town but felt remote. Just what we were looking for. Awesome west facing deck with view of Bighorns. Nice and close to Crazy Woman Canyon
We stayed for 7 nights with our three children, 8,10 &11, we ALL enjoyed the Double Tree Cabin! This VRBO is a great taste of countryside living near the Big Horn Mountains, yet town is conveniently nearby.
Property was clean, warm and welcoming.
Beds were comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked.
Property manager was welcoming, and readily available.
Location was well placed for our planed activities (hunting and trout fishing), having the Big horn mountains as our view is something I would not have expected.
We had a great time at the cabin. My father, brother, and myself stayed here during our hunting trip, and the cabin was a welcome change vs the hotels on our travel up. Great view of the mountains and the homeowners gave us privacy to relax. Mule deer and pronghorn watching out the windows every day
We enjoyed staying at this cabin. It has everything to feel at home away from home. The view is awesome. Every day we saw deer, antilope, rabbits, and birds. Seeing and hearing the Sandhill Cranes was beautiful. The owner, Larry, was very friendly and made us feel welcome. I can't wait to come back! We love this paradise! Thank you so much! The Saulness family
On my third stay at Doubletree, I again enjoyed the beauty of the ranch, the serenity and uniqueness of the Bighorns, and the cabin/deck and grounds call me back again. I go to Buffalo each day and then the mountains, Sheridan and crazy woman canyon, and hiking trails up top. Thank you Larry and Cheryl!
This is the second time I have stayed here and I love it. This time my son and I went for motorcycle riding and off roading. It's a perfect location about 10 minutes outside of Buffalo, close but not too close. The place is spotless. There's a loft for the master and my son stayed in the basement and it worked out great. We did not cook there but the kitchen looks like a good set up. I will try and stay there again next year.
The cabin location could not be better - close to Buffalo and local restaurants/nightlife but secluded enough that we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country. The cabin is also easily accessible from major highways should your stay include trips to the mountains.
Everything was incredibly clean and Cheryl clearly communicated the COVID friendly no contact check-in/out process and was incredibly responsive to any questions i had about the area (she gave great recommendations on local restaurants with outdoor seating). The beds were comfortable and all of our needs were met with regard to towels, soap, extra linens, fans, and all kitchen items.
The best part of our stay was sitting outside on the large deck in the evening and watching the sunset melt way to a sea of stars while enjoying wine. It was just the relaxing location that we needed to re-energize during quarantine and Cheryl did an amazing job making sure we were comfortable while also ensuring COVID safety was a top priority. I will definitely be recommending this location to my friends and family!
We had a great time at Cabin in the Country. It was a breath of fresh air and a wonderful place to unwind. We can’t wait to go back. The host were great and easy to communicate with making our trip even better.
We absolutely loved everything about our stay at this cabin & hope to be back again!

About the host

My husband and I are Wyoming natives and have lived in Buffalo, Wyoming for the past 40 years. We moved to DoubleTree Ranch in 1994 and in 2016 acquired DoubleTree Cabin. We spent 3 years restoring, updating and maintaining this property and truly love the location, the quiet of the country, the starry night skies and the beautiful views.
Why they chose this property
This property is about 3 miles South of the town of Buffalo, but affords all who stay here the solitude and contentment of being in the country.
What makes this property unique
Hayfields to the East and North, cattle pasture to the South, gorgeous views of the Big Horn Mountains to the West. This is truly a paradise. White Tail and Mule Deer often wander by. Lots of birds live here and small wildlife are abundant. Water fowl use nearby pond habitat. A wonderful walking trail is adjacent to the county road only a 1/2 mile jaunt West of DoubleTree Cabin. Just follow the private road West to the county road to reach the Klondike Road Walking Trail.
