About this property

River cottage & ranch

Nestled in the foothills of the southern Sierra Nevada, this riverfront mountain cottage is just 10 minutes from Sequoia National Park.

The cottage has a full kitchen and living room, along with two bedrooms and a bathroom. The sleeper sofa in the living room allows 6 people to sleep here comfortably. Although it may not be needed with such ample outdoor activities, the space is equipped with WiFi, Bluetooth speakers, and an Apple TV.

The space
Perched on 10 acres of rolling hills along the North Fork of the Kaweah River, Brown Thorn Cottage and Ranch could be its own National Park. Oak trees are dotted across the hill side and the short river trail from the cottage winds around ancient granite boulders shaped by thousands of years of snow melt. The land is home to wild turkey and deer, both of which may be spotted from the porch while you enjoy your morning coffee. The space is cozy and chic; all the amenities and comfort of home with all the allure of a modern mountain cottage.

While Brown Thorn Ranch is a beautiful piece of land unto itself, it makes for the perfect base camp to explore world renown Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, the tallest mountain in the contiguous United States, and the beautiful southern Sierra Nevada.

Home to artists and outdoor enthusiasts, Three Rivers is a quiet mountain town with a few cafes, coffee shops, and markets, all within a couple miles of the property.

Unpretentious House near River

Clean, comfy beds on several acres with access to the river, horses and lots of quiet. Saw turkey, tons of birds and deer while hanging on the porch. Very close to Sequoia Park entrance. If you are going to rent this property as a place to hang out, maybe this isn’t the right spot, but if you need a home-base after a day of hiking, it’s super convenient.

Convenient location

Cute property very close to Three Rivers and the park entrance. The kids loved giving the horses treats, checking out the river and meeting the dogs. I would recommend adding a microwave, more kitchen supplies and better bedding and towels.
