Lets face it, folks. Most rental properties feel like rental properties: (1) rooms crammed with as many beds as can fit; (2) walls largely barren of pictures/art; (3) cheap beds & linens; (4) sparsely equipped kitchens; (5) basic window treatments (if you're lucky), etc.
The Fox Hollow Cottage (and in fact, ALL the homes managed by Bernie Love in the Cashiers area) are the antithesis of typical rental homes. They are beautifully and meticulously decorated and furnished to give a rustic, yet elegant and comfy/cozy feel. The furniture throughout is top quality. The beds, mattresses & linens are A-1 (you will have a fantastic nights sleep). The kitchen is fully equipped. The outside landscaping is picturesque. The dock and the lake are delightful place for fishing, swimming, or just watching the billions of stars at night.
Fox Hollow is about a 20 minute drive to Cashiers (where you can do all your grocery and other shopping), and a 35 minutes drive to the beautiful and eclectic shops and restaurants of Highlands. In essence, this beautiful mountain retreat is the perfectly located chalet you'll never want to leave. The underlying reason is quite simple -- Bernie Love takes great pride in her Cashiers rental homes, and it really shows. Her homes are so far superior to others in the area that I will ONLY rent her properties when I vacation in the Cashiers area.
This is NOT a paid, political advertisement. Just the honest opinion of a a life-long visitor of the area (my parents first brought us kids up to this area when I was 15, and I just turned 66).
The way I look at things, vacations are supposed to be special. If you truly yearn for that comfortable, cozy, and elegant mountain retreat vibe that will remain etched in your memory banks long after you've left, go with the best and forget the rest. Give "Fox Hollow"a try. You will be glad you did.
