This cabin sits on 10 private acres atop a mountain, with incredible views from both the upper and lower porches. We built our home on the highest portion of our property to achieve the best mountain views. No expenses were spared when designing and building this unique one of a kind cabin. Some of the many features include; hand made & peeled log and iron railings, tree posts, extra large porches for enjoying the views and stars at night.
Some other features of this home include granite and stainless kitchen, 2 custom real wood burning fireplaces. Master features a King pillow top bed with a mounted 65 in smart flat screen TV for your comfort and fireplace. Master Bath has a large black corner tub, Huge slate walk in shower w/rain head. The 2nd bedroom features a queen bed, sitting area, vaulted ceilings and has a private balcony for viewing wildlife from above. The 3rd bedroom also has very high vaulted ceilings and 2 double beds. 4th bedroom features a king pillow top log with custom wall murals of the outdoors. The loft serves as a 5th BR. & offers an additional full size bed and a queen bed, 6th bedroom with bunk beds, computer desk for those of us that may have to work while enjoying their vacation.

Downstairs is a large game room with ping pong, pool table, mini kitchen, flat screen tv and fireplace.

Main floor offers a large living area with two sofas, fireplace and 65 in. smart tv to enjoy Netflix or a DVD player with over 50 moves to choose from.

Outdoors we have a covered hot tub to enjoy the mountain views, charcoal grilling area, plenty of settings to sit and enjoy the gorgeous mountain views and a fire pit area for late night fire's.

I rented a helicopter and took a few aerial photos of the cabin so you can get a feel how it sits with its surroundings. Taken 8/10/11 (We recently added a large carport that hold 3 to 4 cars for covered parking)

There is room for two cars to park toward the top of the driveway next to cabin and 2 to 3 under the carport. (5 car max. is allowed) No street parking is allowed in our area.

The road leading to the cabin is paved as well as the driveways leading to the home.
Due to the incline of our driveway and the steep slope we ask all larger vehicles park at the end of the second driveway on a flatter portion of our property.

We are in a great location. Our home backs up to the Chattahoochee Forest and we are just 4 miles to Helen GA. Enjoy walkingtubing in Helen down the Chattahoochee river and walking trails and the Anna Ruby Falls at Unicio State Park just a 10 min. drive. Dukes Creek Falls is also just a 5 min. drive. We are also close to over 20 local wineries and tasting rooms.

This is a beautiful mountain home with fantastic views. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing getaway. There are plenty of large sized rooms, and cute decor throughout the home to solidify the feel of mountain living. This is my second time staying here, and would stay again.

Another great stay!

Steve and Sandy are wonderful and responsive hosts. This was the second trip for our friend group and it was as wonderful as the first. Plenty of room, things to do and of course, the hot tub! The town of Helen is nearby so there is plenty to do, but we just preferred the solitude and beauty of the house and location!

Family Refuge

This cabin was perfect for our family group of 10: many spaces to hang out and places to have a little working remote time too! We loved the secluded setting and the many outdoor spaces. There was plenty of silverware, dishes and kitchen items--that can be a problem when you have a large group. We will stay there again if at all possible.

Private, Spacious, Beautiful

This is a wonderful property! We stayed Thanksgiving week with our kids and grandkids. We had plenty of space when the 9 of us wanted to play card games or watch football. There was also plenty of space for any private time. The cabin is beautifully decorated. A big bonus is the fenced yard and the gated decks. It was great to have both a ping pong table and a pool table on the lower level. The pool table has been well loved and added some comic relief to our games! It was great recreation. The kitchen is roomy and has all the cookware, dishes, glasses, utensils, etc. that you could possibly need. The outside is well lit and the covered carport is very nice. The drive up is steep but no problems getting up the hill and parking. The cabin location is private while still being close to Helen and Cleveland. Highly recommend this property and Sandy and Steve as hosts! We look forward to staying again in the future!

A long time coming...

This was the first get away we've had in some time and we needed. We joined with my brother in law's family so there were 10 of us. This house offered more than enough room. The hot tub was perfect. The yard was great for our pups. The location was convenient and breath taking. We could be in Helen and tubing in a matter of minutes. This could be a repeat for us because we absolutely loved it.

Awesome House

The house was beautiful, clean, and spacious. It was in close proximity to many activities but secluded enough for privacy. My family enjoyed the nature walks, Anna Ruby Falls, wineries, especially, Yonah Mt. They thought Helen was too touristy for them. They enjoyed cooking out on the grill and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit with the little ones, playing games, and the gorgeous views from the decks. The only complaint was that the pool cues didn't have tips on them.

Overall a nice cabin- great location

The cabin was in the perfect location. The outside of the property was a little unkept. There were ladders in random places. Leaves on the deck. Broken chair and missing rails on the deck. The inside was really nice (minus some spiders in the bathroom). Overall though it was pretty nice.

Spacious Mountain Getaway

Our cabin getaway was perfect for our families! We liked that the bedrooms were spread out on 3 levels to give everyone their space. At the same time, we all could be together in the game room and the living room. There was enough seating for everyone in both rooms which is a plus! The open floor plan was great for us all to be together. The cabin was clean and we had everything we needed. The views out the front windows was Awesome! We seen a rainbow the morning we left, how cool! Sandy, the owner, was great. She was quick to respond to any questions we had.

We Got to Spread Out and Enjoy Family Time

We have a large family. This house was perfect for so many of us plus our dog! Time on the deck in the morning, noon and night was wonderful. We spent 9 days here and did not want to leave. As the "matriarch" of the family, I VERY MUCH APPRECIATED the simple bonus of each bed already being made with linens upon arrival. (Typically, after a long drive to a vacation destination, beds must be made before retiring...so thank you for this bonus for the mom!) The house is in such a convenient location. We visited so many hiking trails and small towns close by to us. Dalonaga is must to visit...maybe twice... to hit all of the wineries along the way. Checking in and out was super easy. The first time up the driveway/parking area was tricky at first, but by the last day we were pros and were able to get four cars in the parking area easily. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

PERFECT home❤️

What a beautiful time we had at A Point Of View. Easy access up to the house (last turn was a bit steep but we all had four wheel drive or all wheel. Can be tricky if drive is wet). Well cared for grounds. Just a gorgeous first impression. Checking in was easy peasy.Communication with Sandy was wonderful.She responded quickly to any questions. Me being somewhat OCD I took with us EVERYTHING I thought I would need for our stay. However, only the food was used. The home is well stocked. From toilet paper to silverware. A/C cooled beautifully on all the floors. The hot tub was a wonderful addition and easy to operate. We brought our lil fur boy and we were very pleased with having a fenced yard . We still kept him leached while outside though. The fire pit was a great touch and perfect environment to hangout with our daughter and son and their family. We were there to celebrate my husbands 80th bday and it was the perfect setting. The views are gorgeous and absolutely the perfect place to wake up to and sit out on the deck with a cup of coffee. Thank you Sandy for sharing your home. We highly recommend this home if you’re looking for something extra special.

Pricey, but beautiful.

Beautiful cabin with beautiful views. Spacious with room for the entire family and/or friends. First driveway entrance isn’t steep. Second is pretty steep and windy so stick with using the first. Wonderful fenced in backyard for keeping the dogs safe. Great fire pit area for hanging out. Great deck areas with plenty of seating to hangout or just watch the sunrise. Coffee pots galore, and a Keurig. No coffee provided so make sure to bring your own. Minimal spices and no condiments, plan accordingly. When you have an issue, message the owners. They do reply quickly. Our checkin was delayed due to cleaning issues, though not for long. The hot tub had heating issues and smelled. But owners said they would have cleaned it during our stay had we messaged them. Those were the only issues we had. Overall this is a wonderful place to stay. A bit pricey but you can’t put a price on the peace and quiet this place provides.

Beware of possible credit card charges

The cabin was spacious. We enjoyed the amenities. The driveway is steep as described. Unfortunately we didn’t purchase Damage Protection Insurance. One of the grandkids was in the loft, tripped, and caught himself by grabbing the rail. His hand knocked over a bear rug hanging over the rail, causing it to fall, hitting a resin moose head hanging on a nail below the rail. Thankfully our granddaughter, standing below, was not hit on the head by the falling moose head—a safety hazard having that rug directly above the moose head. We left a voice mail for the owner. She never returned the call. We didn’t hear from her until our arrival at home— about 12 hours after our departure. We received an email from VRBO that our credit card would be charged $500 for a broken moose head and scratches on the interior of the main door. We were appalled. She sent me two pictures to replace the moose head- one around $350, the other $370, neither made of resin, and wanting to charge for installation. We found one made of resin and like the one broken at Hobby Lobby for $28. At first the owner said it was smaller and we were welcome to keep researching. We went to Hobby Lobby and found the same moose head. We couldn’t find another made of resin and with the side view anywhere else as she asked. We offered to give her $100 and be done with it. At that point she assured me she paid more than that, buying it at a cabin shop in Hiawasee, GA. Phone calls were made to the shops there but no one had a resin moose head for us to check on the price. She did not show any receipt. As far as the door: she sent three pictures of the scratched door with the title DOG DAMAGES. We did not have a dog with us!! A wrong assumption on her part!! We finally got her to dismiss that charge—-of $200. So she refunded our credit card $200 and we ended up paying $300 for this moose head. We have a problem with this. As the owner she could charge up to $500 on our credit card within so many days of our departure for damages. She automatically went for the $500 within hours!!! We left the damaged moose head on the table, being upfront and honest. What about proof for these charges? What about receipts? Show us that you replaced it with one exactly like it and the cost of it. And $200 for the door???? She was allowed to put this charge on our credit card with VRBO with no accountability. This is totally unacceptable.

Why they chose this property

I have always loved visiting the Helen GA area. Its so calm and quiet with just the right amount of wildlife and charm to relax and enjoy being outside and taking in the love of the natural forest, rivers and waterfalls and state parks. There is something for everyone from Zip Lines, Tubing, Horse Back Riding, Fishing, Golf/Mini Golf, Shopping, Roller Coaster and I cant forget to mention the numbers of great wineries and tasting rooms within a few minutes drive. (Call me for a list)
