About this property
A Personal Waterfront Micro-Resort on SW Florida's Pine Island
The Coconut Cabana is BACK after much clean up and repair from the past Hurricanes Ian, Helene and Milton. This is a very private, quiet and cozy gem on the tropical resort-like grounds of "Villa Key West", a Key West style home in St James City, the southernmost point of Pine Island, looking across San Carlos Bay to Sanibel Island. It is adjacent to a large, heated, deep, saltwater pool. This one bedroom, 2 person cabana is perfect for a romantic getaway, a tropical vacation or just an escape from the noise and bustle of city life. Your stay at The Coconut Cabana is shared with no other renters, just your hosts/owners Liz and Parker that reside in the adjacent main house (villakeywest). This rental provides kayaks, bicycles. and when available, a courtesy electric golf cart that can be driven throughout all of St James City, a private 150' sunset/fishing pier and a boat dock is all part of this rental. .
Privacy and solitude is rare when it comes to Florida waterfront properties, yet this unique piece of land with 380 feet of San Carlos Bay shoreline is landscaped and laid out to give you just that, our sunset/fishing pier, splendid views of Sanibel Island and it's blinking lighthouse in the evenings. You truly feel you have been transported to a lush tropical island far away from any city . Overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, you see a daily parade of pleasure boats, luxury yachts, maritime travelers and commercial fishing vessels passing close by. Manatees, Dolphin and numerous species of birds meander by daily, watch Pelicans, Frigates, Terns, Osprey, Eagles and Cormorants diving for their dinner just feet away as you lay poolside.
Pine Island is the largest island in Florida, but it is not a beach island. Gulf beaches are close by but do require a boat/ferry ride or a drive off the Island. Pine Island is one of the last remaining charismatic experiences of "Old Florida" on the water left. It has wonderful restaurants, friendly bars and active marinas, many only a short walk, bicycle or golf cart ride away. Truly an unforgettable experience awaits you here.
The Cabana is limited to 2 guests. Rental Agreement and Release of Liability must be read, acknowledged and agreed upon before booking can be accepted.

The Coconut Cabana is an ideal setting for a two-person relaxing get away. Parker and Liz are very welcoming and have a beautiful place. The property is wonderful and the cabana is clean and has great views. We loved staying there.
The Coconut Cabana was fantastic. Parker and Liz were gracious hosts and the facilities were great. Amazing views from the southern tip of Pine Island. Highly recommend
One of the best properties we have ever stayed at.Stunning views and the cabana is perfection. We did not want to leave. The pictures do not due it justice.Do not pass this one up.
The cabana is fabulous, the grounds are amazing, and the views of the waterway and Sanibel Island are breathtaking. Liz & Parker are 1st rate hosts and made us feel right at home.
It was absolutely wonderful. The hosts were simply the best, helpful and made sure we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We were sad to leave but will be back
Absolutely beautiful! The hosts were so attentive, making sure our needs if any were met. Access to pool, kayaks, golf cart. The cabana house was the perfect size for 2 people, and very very clean! Screened in porch area to sit and read or watch the boats. Highly recommend!
We loved this property. So clean and the owners thought of everything to make our stay fabulous. Had to leave a day early because of the Corona Virus-so sad-can't wait to go back.
Absolutely beautiful setting! We have used VRBO for years all over the world and this by far was our favorite! Easy to confirm, easy arrival, easy to enjoy. Parker and Liz were such wonderful hosts. Loved the pool, kayaks, and golf cart. Wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend this paradise!
Perfect setting for my wife and I to relax and enjoy the weather and beautiful setting of The Coconut Cabana! Thank you Liz and Parker for a fantastic week ... we truly enjoyed ourselves!

Coconut Cabana offers a "groomed jungle" of exotic botanical delights, sunrises to make a believer of you, interesting and beautiful waters of both pool and bay. The interior is tastefully decorated and very well appointed. Parker and Liz are generous and accommodating hosts; I was treated like a visiting relative.
If you are looking for a quiet , relaxing getaway from the rat race of life this is the place for you. Liz and Parker are wonderful hosts. Check it out!!!
I can't say enough good things about this property and the owners, Liz & Parker. This cabana is at the southern end of Pine Island with views of Sanibel and Captiva across the water. It has a pier to fish off of, a gorgeous pool to swim in, and all the amenities you can think of. They also generously allow use of their golf cart if it's available. The landscaping was lush, even after the hurricane. It's a quick drive, walk, bike ride, or golf cart to several restaurants. Easy to set up fishing trips from this location. I can't wait to go back!!
Beautiful property and cool surrounding area. St. James City has a great Old Florida vibe. The Cabana was super clean and perfect for two people. The landscaping was amazing. Liz and Parker are great hosts and there if you’re need them for anything. Access to golf cart, bikes and kayaks was a great bonus. We will be back!!
Spent a week in the Coconut Cabana at Villa Key West and loved it! Super relaxing - awesome surroundings - and Liz and Parker were exceptional hosts! The accommodations were perfect - everything we needed was right there. We were definitely on Florida time while we enjoyed the fabulous weather, lush tropical grounds, and beautiful sunsets.
This was our first trip to Pine Island and we enjoyed the experience. We'll definitely be back to Villa Key West! -- Kirk & Tina Patten
I don’t even know how to begin! The concise communication with the kindest people you’ll meet drew us in as much as the pictures! The pics don’t do it justice which is unbelievable! I didn’t know there was still a place in the USA that felt so “old keys”. Best for 1-2 guests, plenty to do and EVERYONE on the island is welcoming. Liz and Parker are above excellent hosts. I could go on for pages!
Could not have asked for a more peaceful and beautiful weekend getaway! Our hosts were gracious and gave recommendations that enhanced our stay. The cabana is equipped with everything you need and just enough space for a couple. The photos don’t do justice to Coconut Cabana and the gorgeous gardens that surround it. We enjoyed kayaking, walks on the observation pier, quiet reading on the back patio, soaking in the pool and toured the grounds full of trees and foliage. We hope to visit again when we want to treat ourselves to a real break!
Despite the bad weather we had a great time at the Coconut Cabana! The property is beautiful...just like the pictures. Gorgeous pool and dock. Access to kayaks, bikes and golf cart. Close to the bars/restaurants. VERY clean inside! Liz was extremely easy to work with and has great communication skills. Really appreciate the little touches such as the personal welcome sign, and the "coconut cabana" mugs and cups that we got to take home. I would defintely stay there again.
Coconut Cabana is the nicest rental we have ever had! The Cabana is top notch and well stocked with everything, but the grounds, pool, view of the water and pier are spectacular! Kayaks and bikes great to change it up from poolside viewing of dolphins, manatees and birds. Online photos do not capture the true beauty of this property. Parker could not have been more hospitable. Our first vacation in over a year exceeded our expectations! If you want a relaxing getaway in a gorgeous setting, this place is for you!
What a great place. The photos do perfectly capture the beauty of the place and don't exaggerate the size of the space as some listings do. A great change of pace from more crowded and commercial options. The pool, porch, hammock and kayaks were particular favorites for us. A bit of a drive if you're interested in restaurants and shopping (hence the 4 stars for that) ... but who needs those things with all the amenities right there. Clothes storage is a little limited so don't pack the closet. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating.
First, Liz and Parker are terrific. It was like meeting old friends even though we hadn't met prior. The property is everything you'll read and then some. There is a terrific attention to detail and all of them are intentional and meant to enhance your stay. None of them went unnoticed! The fishing pier is great, schools if sheepshead and snook can be spotted hiding underneath. We had dolphins swim right up to us at the end of the pier. You'll see a beautiful sunrise and a spectacular sunset. They have made sure that there is plenty to do at the cabana so you never have leave if you don't want to. The weather didn't cooperate the first few days, but it couldn't ruin the trip as the location, the view, and the relaxation took over and made everything just fine. Highly recommended!!! And we WILL be back!
