The condo features 2 bedrooms plus a loft as the third bedroom, and 2 full baths. A split unit air-conditioner is situated in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all major and minor appliances, and the living room boasts a queen pull-out sofa bed, recliners, a dining room table, and a 52" wall-mounted TV with a Blu-ray player. The spacious lanai, furnished with bar-height seating for 5, extends your living area outdoors.

The master bedroom offers a king-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom, while the second bedroom has a queen bed and is next to the main bathroom. The loft provides additional sleeping space with 1 single bed and 1 queen bed.

Awesome condo and condo resort on the water

Absolutely great vacation. Lanai overhangs the water and we enjoyed watching turtles and whales from the Lanai. Grounds were well maintained and the follow up and service provided by the owner was top notch.

Our stay at Papakea Resort

The location is excellent. The actual Papakea Resort site, pool and landscaping is impeccable and beautiful. We stayed in a 4th floor oceanfront unit. The view from the unit is breathtaking... from continuous whale watching to daily sunsets. We hope to visit here again

Great condo in great location

We loved our stay in suite A403. The ocean front location was so amazing to have morning coffee and happy hour drinks. The condo itself was great, a bit warm in the loft but easily made up for with the rest of the unit. The resort itself was nice, clean, and had lots to do when needing a day close to home.

Perfect for our family

The property was just perfect for our family! It was spacious and very clean. We appreciated being able to do laundry right in the condo and the opportunity to cook. The kitchen was filled with all the necessities. They provided beach towels, boogie boards and a cooler which was very helpful when traveling! We also were able to see whales out our back patio which was a total surprise! We had a lovely experience and would stay there again! Thank you!

Great ocean view.

Enjoyed breakfast on the lanai watching whales. Clean, quiet and well maintained. Everything you could need in the kitchen. Owner helpful and easy to deal with. The grounds are lovely with great pools. Staff very helpful. Would not recommend anyone stay in the loft if they have mobility issues. Stairs very steep and narrow. There is no beach out front but great beaches a short walk away. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.

2023 Family vacation

The property was in a wonderful location and the view was exceptional from our unit. The carpet in the bedrooms was extremely dirty and needs replaced. The bathroom stool in the master worked only part time. The air conditioner leaked onto the lanai and puddled the entire time so it was hard not to track it in. We loved the resort area and the pool area was great.

Gorgeous views!

This condo is beautiful, well appointed and very comfortable! Our family has stayed at the Papakea 5 times , rented different condos through the years, I really liked the hardwood floors and oceanfront lanai, the whales put on quite a show for us! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for something extra special! The only issue we had was with the window air conditioner, it leaked water onto the Lanai . Someone showed up right away to repair it ( it was our last day) hopefully no longer an issue! Found fabulous fish tacos at Island fish market right down the street from the condo! We will definitely rent this condo again! Can't wait to come back! The Shoff family

Great location. Clean condo.

We stayed with our 3 kids, our friends, and their two kids. The loft held all 5 kids, with the girls bunking on the floor and the boys in the 2 beds. The condo had everything we needed, as promised. All we needed was food and toiletries. Full bed was tough to sleep on and shower head in hall bath needs to be replaced. Kitchen outlets didn't work most of the time. We ate almost all meals at the condo, including bbqing down at the pool. So great!! The size, view, accommodations, were all amazing! We loved it and would recommend it to any family. Farmers market and fish market are fantastic, and one block down. Slappy Cakes was a couple blocks down and tons of fun. Grocery store right down the street too.

Beautiful views but the apartment did not look like the pictures.

The views were breathtaking and we loved to location. The reasons why this place does not get a 5 star starts with the check in process. Before our stay, I received an email from our host. He told me check in was at 3pm. Upon arrival to the resorts, frobt desk told us that check in was at 4pm. Ok, fine we'll just wait another hour, no big deal. At 4pm we headed to our room, only to find that the place has not been cleaned properly. One of the bedrooms bed was covered with wet towels, the dryer was full with beach towels, the kitchen had grease stains and the bathroom's baseboards were very dusty. The other issues that we had was the duplex stairs. They are super steep amd some of the boards were wiggly. I guess if it was just adults I wouldn't care, but with kids around we had to be extra careful. topproperly.

Misleading

The grounds and view are outstanding! Our condo not so much ! If you are a clean freak don’t stay! Some small upgrades would be wonderful! Tear out carpet , new beds and linen! The cockroaches and bugs where disgusting, I understand where we where at would have a few , but this was a lot, luckily someone left spray!

60th birthday celebration

Beautiful resort. The view from the balcony was the highlight of the condo. Had our coffee every morning watching the whales in the distance. Sunsets we saw a rainbow everyday and watched the turtles swim by. Location was perfect. Walking distance to food trucks and ABC store/ deli mini market. Supermarket is a block down the street . The resort is beautifully maintained, pool is nice and there are lounge chairs along the edge of beach. Pickleball courts , shuffle board, toss game and other games to play while out enjoying the premises. Cooked most of our meals, bbq on premises. Kitchen has pretty much everything you need to cook. We bought kpods for coffee only to find out when we arrived the coffee machine uses ground coffee. . Which gave us the opportunity to try Hawaiian ground coffee. Super good coffee but very expensive. Need to bring cleaning supplies to clean kitchen. There are roaches in kitchen and condo, but it’s a humid environment and to be expected. They were at a minimum and owners do try to control. Temps were in 74-78 degree range and we never turned on the air. Nice air flow with windows and slider open. I gave 4 star only because the condo does need upgrade. Carpets need to be replaced , one bathroom shower has mold and furniture needs upgrade. There were plenty of beach towels avail. Had a washer/dryer (didnt use) have to buy your own laundry soap. Beds were very comfortable. Our stay was very enjoyable and we would return again.

Our Stay

This condo is in a wonderful resort. Well cared for property, clean pool, and great location to explore the area from. Small issues like cleanliness have been addressed in other posts but our major concern was with property management. Absolutely 0 communication from the Host; no check-in/check-out instructions, nothing. Worse, upon leaving, we accidentally left hundreds of dollars of coats in the closet and were unable to reach ANYONE responsible for weeks. The resort staff is unable to help so we involved the Property Management company, Hawaii Life, to follow up and they could not reach the host either. After finally responding, they said our property is "gone" with no further explanation. Shame.

Every vent from bathrooms to windows were caked with dust/dirt/grime. When first entering it seemed fine. Once opening things up the lack of upkeep was very evident. I've taken pictures of all this but don't know where I can send them.

Multiple black ants traps were left on the kitchen counter making the kitchen unsafe for food due to the chemicals. Cockroaches were also present. We have stayed at Papakea for the past 15 years and have never encountered bugs in the units we have rented. Carpets in the bedrooms need to be replaced or cleaned...they were stained and filthy. The only thing good about this condo was the view, it was amazing!

Great View But Unit Needs Some Work

Oceanfront view was spectacular. Watched whales morning and night from our lanai. Beautiful. Great location - close to food truck park where we could support the local Maui vendors. Unit does need some upgrading in areas of carpet, trim falling from wall, screen door doesn't close/latch, trim peeling away from drawers/cabinets and missing wall panel in bedroom laying against mirror on floor.
