Pench Woodside Retreat
Pench Woodside Retreat is a charming ranch style bungalow set on an acre of land besides the deciduous forest of Pench Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh. The property is close to the village watering hole that attracts wildlife, especially birds and bats. The heavily wooded property is a haven for nature lovers.
With spacious airy rooms and a high ceiling that allows you to breathe, the villa is a home away from home. Vintage furniture and modern fittings blend to provide a comfortable stay.
A number of sit-out settings provide privacy to the guests even in a group.
The two air-conditioned bedrooms on the ground floor have en-suite (attached) bathrooms, while the two air-cooled bedrooms on the first floor share a bathroom. The bathrooms are Western style with Jaquar fittings. The Living and the Dining areas overlook a green expanse.
Breakfast is provided; other meals are optional. A large number of resorts, close-by provide buffet and a-la-carte service. An outdoor bonfire and barbecue set-up can be provided on request. A well equipped kitchen that can be used by guests also adds to the convenience. There are a few local dhabas too, in the vicinity.
Pench Woodside Retreat is located very close to the two Safari entry gates - Turia, M.P. (2km) and Khursapar, MH (12km). The Night Safari gate and other buffer zone gates are also located at a convenient distance.
The owners, a couple in their 50’s live at the villa. Hospitable by nature, they can provide valuable insights into local living.
Home Stay do’s and don’ts:
1. No smoking in the house. The owners don’t appreciate the smell of smoke in the tapestry and upholstery. Guests may smoke outdoors in the designated area only. Guest must be conscious that the property is located in a forest and a carelessly stubbed cigarette can burn down hectares of forested land.
2. No pets. Pets are strictly not allowed on the property.
3. No children below 11 years. Maids and helpers strictly not allowed.
4. Outdoor games such as Cricket, etc. are permitted in the designated area only. Guests must take care to avoid damaging the property.
5. In case of no electricity (very rare.. usually happens only during thunderstorms or when repairs are being carried out), power backup is through an inverter on which a light and fan works in every room. A genset can be provided at no extra charge. However, the fuel costs will have to be borne by the guest. The air coolers will be powered by the generator. ACs will not work on this genset.
6. Two of the bedrooms have air conditioning while two bedrooms, Living and Dining areas are air-cooled through ducts. Individual coolers that work on the inverter too, are also provided.
7. Guests may use the kitchen provided undue mess is not created. Guests may also carry their own meals or order out.
8. Hunting/killing wildlife for fun or food is an offence under the Forest and Wildlife Protection Act. Please do not ask the villagers for wild boar/deer meat. The same villagers can have you arrested.
9. Alcohol is permitted on the premises in the designated area. The current laws demand that alcohol be purchased locally. Duty free alcohol as well as purchases from other states are not allowed to be carried across the MP state borders. Other means of intoxication and recreational drugs are strictly not permitted on the premises.
10. The home stay is located in a rural area of M.P. No medical facilities are available. The most appropriate option is Nagpur (2 hour drive).

Pench, M.P. is located a picturesque 90km away by Road from Nagpur city on Highway 44. Tourist vehicles can be pre-booked. Ola, Uber and Zoom Car services are also available. Availability may be checked with the respective operator.
