We loved the house and property, we would definitely stay here again. The dark sky veiw from this spot is breathtaking. John and Amy are wonderful people! The pictures don't do it justice.
We had a great time. Property was beautiful and access to the water for fishing and swimming was an added bonus. We will definitely stay here again as well as recommend to friends and family
Check-in and out was simple. The WiFi worked great for a remote area. Cute place and great hosts. The Little Buffalo River access has a good jumping rock for the kids and a few small mouth bass for the fishermen. Definitely a place to revisit.
We love this property! It's quiet and clean. Also convenient to lots of hiking, a grocery store, and local restaurants. The kids also have fun playing in the river. This was our second visit, and we'll certainly be back again!
The house was perfect and clean. The property was beautiful. The hosts are as friendly and helpful as we have ever had. It was truly a pleasure to stay here.
everything was exactly as described, and I would add even more so. Plenty of cooking utensils, spices, and all the convenience you would need for cooking not to mention the towels and assortment of toiletry. I ran into some difficulties with my motorcycle and I reached out and within 20 minutes somebody was at my house helping me. I can’t say enough about this place if you’re into scenery and serenity you will not be disappointed.
Amy was an excellent host and answered all our questions quickly. We also enjoyed meeting the owners, John and Wanda, while exploring the property and river. They were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable! The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed and more! The beds were comfortable, and I loved the feather pillows! The views from the cabin were spectacular from sunrise to sunset. There is a groundhog living on the fence row by the red gate, be sure to keep an eye out for him! The bats are cool to watch flitting around in the evening too. Our Highlander made the drive down to the river with little issue. It high centered slightly at the first gate, but was fine all the way down. We would recommend this cabin to anyone and would definitely stay here again!!
Amy and John are wonderful hosts and the Rock House was the perfect setting to come home to after sightseeing. It’s a little remote slice of heaven nestled between the mountains. Really didn’t want to leave.
What an absolute gem of a property! The house was incredibly clean and cozy. We enjoyed time around the fire, swims in the river, and all the local trails. John the property owner was so kind and wanted to make sure we had a perfect stay. We loved it so much, we have already booked for next year!
Amy (mgr) and John (owner) were both great and answered any questions we had. Loved the history of the area and the location was perfect for us going back and forth from Jasper and Ponca, and to other sites in the area. House itself gave us plenty of room and was well stocked. Will definitely stay again.
We absolutely loved it. The owner was so nice. The house is right off the road but it's not a busy area and it was really quite. We will definitely be back.
What a wonderful place! Beautiful house with a breathtaking view! The owner goes above and beyond to make your stay great! We will return and probably more than once!
The Rock House was a great base for our weekend of hiking. The kitchen is well equipped. Since we had 2 couples, it was great to have two full baths. The beds were comfortable. Close to stores/restaurants in Jasper, and an easy drive to great hiking.
Absolutely perfect!
Easy check in . Super helpful and friendly owners.
Everything we came to do at our fingertips...The property is so peaceful, relaxing and beautiful. Creek on property offers fishing. Swimming hole few minutes away stunning. Cant wait to go back!!
We had a short stay while driving through Ozarks. This place is secluded, Cozy Mountain and Ranch Home with beautiful views. We had outdoor fire going, enjoyed star view, beautiful sun rise from front porch. Thank you Amy and John for being amazing hosts. WE will return for longer time in the future :)
This property is hands down one of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed at. The property itself sits in an absolutely beautiful, idyllic setting. The house has absolutely everything you could need and is very well stocked. We loved that the property had private river access to fish and swim. This home is in a good central location to many activities. Amy was wonderful to work with and very helpful. Mr. John is an absolute precious person and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit with him every day we were there. Without a doubt, his great hospitality and friendly nature is what made our trip one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken. Although our trip was short, it was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. I did not want to leave this beautiful property! We will definitely be back at some point.
My family of four loved everything about our stay at the Rock House. Amy communicated all necessary information in advance of our stay, and the house met all of our expectations based on the information presented online. We cooked several meals in the well-stocked kitchen, and the washer and dryer were very helpful. I commented several times that this was the best stocked rental property we’ve ever stayed ay (e.g., seasonings, paper towels, towels/dish towels, trash bags, etc.). We enjoyed meeting Mr. John and chatting with him as well. He showed my husband around the property, including how to access the river/swimming hole. We swam a couple of times and fished with no luck of catching. The natural spring water in Shop Creek was perfectly clear and cool on a hot summer day. We had plenty of space and comfort in the cabin as well for our family of four. We used this Parthenon cabin as a central location for two hikes (Hawksbill Crag and Lost Valley) and two day trips to Branson. Jasper is in close proximity (6 miles) with restaurants and a grocery store that had everything we needed. Thank you so much to Amy and John for their hospitality. The cabin exceeded our expectations and we absolutely plan to come back soon!
This place is just like your at home. It is so peaceful. The host and hostess is very nice. Thay chceck on you and make sure you dont need anything. I have never stayed at a plce place like this before and recommend it to anyone.
