This is a cozy 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom Chalet style split Condo in Banner Elk, NC across from Sugar Mountain Ski/Golf Resort in Avery County. The 592 sq ft Chalet sleeps 4 comfortably. (with the use of a Serta queen sofa bed on the main floor) It is located near the Alpine Slide, Grandfather Mt, hiking, restaurants, live music, golf, mt biking, fishing, rafting, grocery stores, town park, horse back riding, skating, breweries, wineries. ski slopes, sledding, zipline and tubing. Take an easy day trip to Asheville, Bristol or Yadkin Valley.
It offers a split floor plan for privacy, full kitchen with newer appliances, spacious balcony to enjoy a morning coffee or tasty beverage, & a wood burning fireplace to cuddle up to. Kitchen has a unique custom built counter to dine on. It offers an incredible location with easy access and parking, off Tyncastle Hwy across from Sugar Mountain. Great Short Stay

We only stayed one night, but enjoyed it none the less. Heidi is the most communicative host that I have worked with. She offered suggestions on places to eat and local spots to enjoy. Made our first visit to Banner Elk very enjoyable.

Happy son for 17 Th bday

We had a great experience at Heidi’s place. My son turned 17 want to go snow skiing so we booked Heidi’s place and it was great hospitality easy chicken close to everything very clean very Homie. Heidi was awesome. She went over and beyond for our family and make sure we had a great day. Definitely will be booking with her again.

Daddy Daughter ski trip

My daughter and I went to Sugar Mountain for a quick ski trip and stayed at Heidi’s place. It was wonderful. It was the perfect size for two people and was less than five minutes from the slopes. The condo was well stocked and had everything we needed. It was one of the cleanest places I’ve stayed in. My daughter loved the fireplace. Heidi was a great host and made sure we were taken care of. We will definitely be back. Thanks Heidi!

Great Location

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful condo. It was very cute and the location was amazing. Very close to skiing, Food Lion and so many activities whether you're visiting summer or winter. Heidi even has some condiments in the fridge and spices which we utilized when we made spaghetti. Very convenient. She even supplied doggie bags for our pets. She didn't seem to forget anything. Love that she has a blow dryer and shampoo too. We brought our 2 dogs along and they loved walking around the area. It would be perfect for a couple or even 4 people. We had 5 and it was a bit tight even though we brought a single blow up mattress. With 1 bed and 1 pull out, you'd either have to sleep 3 in one bed or bring a single sized blow up mattress. We made it work so it wasn't an issue for us. Just be aware if you have more than 4 people.

Loved every detail of the cabin.

Traveled with my husband, 2 teenagers, and our dog. The cabin was perfect for us. It is small but has everything that you need (full kitchen, sheets, towels, blankets). Everything was super clean. The heating works very well (this is very important for me since I don't like cold). The location is excellent, very close to Sugar Mountain Resort, where we went skiing, and the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, a unique experience that I recommend for the whole family. The communication with Heidi was excellent, she responded quickly and was willing to answer any question at any time, she also gave us good recommendations for the area. There is a grocery store very close. We will definitely be back.

Perfect Mountain Getaway!

I spent three lovely days in this sweet condo and was so pleased with every aspect of the rental. The price was very affordable, I had great communication with the owner, the condo was just as described, clean, nicely decorated, and with everything we needed available. The location was also great, very close to Banner Elk, Grandfather, Sugar Mtn, Valle Crucis, and Roan Mtn Tennessee. A delightful stay and I hope to visit again soon. Thank you, Heidi!!

Little mountain chalet, great value

This small condo is right in the middle of all the areas of interest in this part of NC--minutes from Sugar Mtn, Beech Mtn, Grandfather Mtn, Banner Elk, Boone, Valle Crucis (original Mast General store), Blowing Rock, lots of wineries, galleries, restaurants, etc. It is not hanging off the side of an isolated mountain road with wide vistas, but rather is conveniently located off the main road heading into Banner Elk (rt 184). However, even without the wide vistas, the setting is serene, with the little condo chalets nestled into surrounding trees; there is also a little stream/brook in front of this unit that feeds into the Elk River a couple hundred yards away and across the road. The unit is small, but very functional for two (or 4 if you're real friendly), with a small LR, deck, and galley kitchen on the 2nd floor and the bedroom and full bath on the 3rd floor (another unit below on 1st floor, but nothing else above this unit). There is a wood burning fireplace in the LR/kitchen area. Note that there is no dishwasher or A/C, so if these are essentials for you, this may not be the place; however, given the location, with exception of the hottest of summer days, the cool mountain air makes A/C unnecessary. It is well appointed and had everything we needed for a 5 night stay. The host (Heidi) is extremely responsive and helpful and clearly wants to make sure that you have all the info you need to enjoy your time in the area. Overall, this unit is a great value in a good location to visit this part of NC.

Perfect Location

Thank you so much Heidi. This awesome property provided everything I was searching for. A quiet, laid back area that is extremely dog-friendly and full of adventure. Staying here was such a positive and unforgettable experience. If I had to point anything out, I would suggest to put fresh strings on the guitar :)). But besides that, everything exceeded expectations!

Very cute

Close to everything; Sking/snowboarding/tubing, gem mining, hiking… the condo was cute and Heidi was super nice. I did think there was more than one bed since the bed was pictured multiple times in the listing with different sheets, but we have small kids so they didn’t mind sleeping on the pull out couch. Being there a week I wish there would’ve been somewhere to store clothes like a small closet or dresser so we didn’t have the mess of living out of the suitcase, but other than that it was a clean, convenient place to vacation in Sugar mountain area.

Love this stay woth my family

The location was perfect for sugar mountain activities we got to see snow. Everything is was clean and comfy. Theres a small river canal in front of the cabine so beautiful everything was so peaceful. We came from Orlando fl driving to this and no regrets we loved are stay and vacation. Heidi was great at communicating before, during and after our trip. The property was clean and exactly like the description. It was the perfect location for our hiking weekend, but we could have done the winter sports things easily from our location. Good restaurants close by. All around a great weekend getaway!

Great Weekend Get Away

This is a really unique apartment in that it is split level with the living area downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. This unit was excellent and is located essentially just across the road from the entrance to Sugar Mtn ski slopes. This location is excellent especially during the winter. Overnight, about 6" of snow fell and the roads inside the community were promptly plowed. The fireplace was awesome and much appreciated with temperatures in the low teens and single digits. I definitely would stay here again.

Great place for a good price.

I enjoyed Heidi's place in Banner Elk. It was near the entrance to Sugar Mountain and close to restaurants and grocery stores. Heidi has everything you need for a cozy trip. You can buy firewood at the local Food Lion and the fireplace is a nice comfort! You can see the Ski Trails from the small deck. Great for a couple or a few friends, even a small family.

The location is ideal and is easily accessible. Our goal is to share the LOVE with ya'll, and make certain that fur-babies never have to be left behind.

Banner Elk is our favorite mountain town. We feel like locals. Throughout the day we explore the several surrounding towns and cities, and end the day we nestle in at Heidi's Mountain Hideaway. Our location is superb. The Chalet is the perfect intimate size for couples or small families. It sincerely rejuvenates us; and, we enjoy breathing in the mountain air and "Forest Cleansing". As well, restaurants are tasty in the Village; and, there is plenty of live music. To top it off, access and parking is easy.
