About this property
5 Star High Country Hideaway Cabin hot tub Pet Friendly Pond Sleeps 8 Pond View
High Country Hideaway is a gorgeous log cabin nestled in The Lakes Community in Seven Devils.
This location is centrally located between Boone, Banner Elk, Sugar Mtn., Beech Mtn, Appalachian State University and Blowing Rock. Nothing is more than a 25 min. drive.
Our extra large lot looks out onto a peaceful pond and meadow with boulder outcroppings. The front yard is secluded and hidden by trees and there is plenty of parking with our large drive.
Soaring two story living room which is open to the dining room and kitchen as well as a small office that looks out into the beautiful back yard and pond. Sit in front of the two story gas fireplace/heater with easy push button remote (no messy fireplace ash, worrying about getting firewood or worries about putting out fires when you leave).
The granite counter kitchen is well appointed and has everything you need with brand new cookware, dishes, and coffee maker.
Rest in our two bedrooms with custom log beds and brand new luxury mattresses and linens.
Working remotely or just need a place to catch up on emails? Sit in the beautiful office the overlooks the meadow and pond, there is no better place to work!
Enjoy our loft area with queen size futon couch, tv, love seat and game table with air hockey, pool and ping pong.
Bring your swim suits to enjoy our brand new 6 person, private hot tub.
The outdoor space that surrounds our cabin in truly unique and beautiful. Our cabin sits on the largest lot in the community so not only do you have a large drive to accommodate several cars but the cabin is hidden from view by beautiful pine trees. Watch the deer from the large covered front deck on our rocking chairs or sit on the screened in porch and enjoy the view of the meadow and pond.
Well behaved, housebroken pets are welcome with approval and pet rent. You must message us and tell us the breed and size of your pet and pay the pet rent for pet approval. Bringing pets without approval and paid pet rent is grounds for eviction without refund.
Guests will have use of the entire property.
We are available by text or phone call during your stay.
Please be advised that although the county and neighborhood keep the roads well maintained during the winter you should be prepared to use chains, 4WD or AWD when coming during winter months and no refunds will be given due to access issues or inclement weather.
With easy access off North Carolina Route 105 on all paved, plowed roads, we are conveniently located to many major attractions --- Valle Crucis, home to Mast General Store; Horn in the West Outdoor Drama, Mystery Hill, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, and Tweetsie Railroad. Fun is just down the road at Hawk's Nest Snow Tubing and Zipline.
Tennis Courts, pickleball and a large children's playground as well as hiking trails to Otter Falls are all available in Seven Devils. If you enjoy farmers markets there are many to visit and enjoy! Our area has many local festivals like the Wooly Worm Festival, and the Scottish Highland Games.
High Country Hideaway is close to the cities of Boone, home of Appalachian State University; Blowing Rock; and Banner Elk. Boone also offers Horn in the West, an outdoor theater extravaganza which chronicles Daniel Boone's part in winning the Revolutionary War. This and Tweetsie Railroad are two of North Carolina's top picks for a vacation destination.
The cabin is surrounded by an outdoorsman's dream come true. Hiking, Fishing, Public Golf Courses, Skiing, Ice Skating, Snow Tubing, Snowshoeing, Sledding, White Water Rafting, Mountain Biking, and hunting in Pisgah National Forest are all just a short drive away! We are also just a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Grandfather Mountain is just down the road.
We are an ideal spot for family fun, summer and winter sports, wonderful shopping and cultural activities like museums and art galleries. There is plenty to do to fill up a weekend or week long trip. Or you could relax and do nothing but recharge.
Private enough for a romantic weekend or honeymoon but close to so many activities that we are perfect for a family get away as well.
We are located midway up Hawksnest Mountain which is extremely well maintained during the winter months. Our neighborhood roads are maintained by the city and plows and salt trucks come by regularly. All roads are paved.
Owners have a dogs that will not be here during your stay but they do occasionally come inside, please be aware if you have allergies.

About the host
Hosted by Denise Tabscott

My name is Denise and this is my husband (Chris) and my 3rd short term rental property. We live in middle TN where our other two properties are located so this is our first out of state listing. We love travel and real estate so the short term rental business combines two of our passions.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the Boone, NC area when looking at colleges for our kids. The weather is beautiful, we enjoy good food, shopping, skiing, fishing, hiking and the outdoors so this property is close to all of that! What's not to love?
What makes this property unique
When we purchased this home it had never been a rental so we had to start from scratch. That means our guests get the benefit of brand new (almost) everything! We love our peaceful setting in this small cabin community and love our extra large lot with the pretty view of the meadow and pond.
