Family went for a ski trip during MLK weekend. The place was nice, secluded and view was great. Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short as there is a forecast of more snow and i'm not sure if we will get stuck if we wait for the next day. The hosts were great, very helpful and easy to reach when I needed some assistance.
It was a very cozy cabin, but the route to it is quite washed out because of the bad weather recently! The hosts were helpful and the instructions were accurate. Highly recommend an all wheel drive SUV for the travel!
Lovely little cabin for my family of three. Close to Boone/blowing rock and all of its offerings, but cozy enough to enjoy evenings at home grilling and playing board games and slow mornings watching the cows in the meadow below the deck.
Our family had a lovely time here this summer! We were in town to bring our kids to Tweetsie and visit Boone and Blowing Rock, and this was the perfect location to do that. It’s also more spacious than it looks in the pictures. We loved how the kids room was set up with the bunk beds!
We had a wonderful stay. The cabin is nicer than the photos appear. It has a lovely view with lots of birds. Saw July 4th fireworks from the back porch. Close to the Parkway, Boone, and Blowing Rock.
Even though the weather didn’t allow us to enjoy outdoors, we had a great time in this small cabin which was perfect for a family of 3. Beautifully decorated with all the facilities needed for a vacation. Thanks for letting us stay.
This home was very cozy and the kitchen was well equipped. Very clean and conveniently located close to BRP. The view was nice and the deck had comfortable chairs to sit. The owners left birdseed for us to fill bird feeders and we absolutely loved seeing all the birds that came. I would definitely recommend this property.
Great experience. Can’t wait to stay again. Close to everything. Great communication with landlords. VERY CLEAN! Booking again. Thank you for allowing us to stay!
It’s hard to summarize the stay that we had. I will start with the negatives and then I will go to the positive; one of the negatives is that when we arrived there was no water and no water pressure after further investigation…there was a busted pipe that we had communicated with the owner about, but there were no repairs that were done during our stay, so we had no water and low water pressure. Also, the driveway to the house caused damage to our vehicle due to overgrown bushes and washed out rock. Onto the positives. We came up there for Tweetsie Railroad and we were at a very good location for the Railroad. also a good distance for food and other activities. And the house was toddler friendly, which is always a great plus. Will definitely stay here again. Hopefully this time with water. Communication with the owner was very nice and they gave a moderate discount for lack of water.

A nice quiet cabin
My family and I enjoyed our stay here overall. We had plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids. The kitchen has all the necessities. The kids' mattresses could probably use an update.Everything else was great!
Patricia - owner- gave us extra assistance to be sure our needs were met. Property very clean and comfy. Everything you will need. Kitchen loaded with helpful items. Peaceful location - in the woods. Sat on deck for hours just to take in the clean cool air.

Charming and convenient!
This mountain cabin provided the perfect getaway experience for myself, my husband and our two-year-old during App State homecoming weekend. It's far enough out of town that you feel like you're really "in the mountains" but less than 15 minutes to Boone or Blowing Rock. Also loved the convenience to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Highlights were the big windows throughout, the large deck, and the tree swing. Kitchen and bathroom were really nice. The gravel road to the cabin is a little rough so we were glad we brought our SUV. We had a great experience here and would love to stay again.
Communication was excellent, location was great for our 3 day trip to Tweetsie, Docs Gem Mine, Mast General Store, and Grandfather Mountain. The cabin was quaint and cozy with a pretty deck and view which we really enjoyed in the evenings. We brought our small air purifier to help with humidity and allergies which worked great. Well stocked with amenities, kitchen supplies, ect. We didn't use the downstairs but it was nice and cool. AC was a plus in July. The kids loved the bunk beds and tree swing. Overall, it was a great stay.

The cabin was very nice, clean and accomodated us nicely. The cabin was perfect for 4 people.
The only negative thing we need to say is the railing on the deck was not very stable. We live in Eastern NC where there are a lot of high decks and some have collapsed this year so it make us a little nervous to be on the deck near the railing. Other than that, everything was great!
Overall the cabin was clean, comfortable, was well stocked with anything needed, and nice view. Getting a quick response on having a charcoal grill, not gas, allowed purchase of coal and starter before coming into the cabin. We did have some difficulty with water pressure, which made it difficult to flush the toilet at times. We also would have benefited from having instructions on using the TV with three different remotes. Instructions sent on getting into the cabin by road was also important. We managed the driveway ok, but there was quite a wash out of rocks between the cabin and the neighbors. Large cinderblocks in the road were pretty obtrusive to driving that part and turning around the curve. It was very peaceful and quiet. loved seeing the hummingbirds also.

Nice cabin but my back is still recovering from the bed
I loved the patio and view, but my relaxing weekend turned into a sleepless weekend due to the terrible matress. I have never woken up in such pain before... tossed and turned to get comfortable only to wake up in agony. Ive slept on futons, air mattresses and 15 yr old junkers this yr with no problems, so i was defintely suprised and frustrated. Cabin was clean and cute, close to blowing rock and boone. Just wish i could say i had some R&R :(

Nice view
We liked the cabin, it was really cold when we were there so we could not use the 2nd bathroom downstairs because it was not heated down there so we were really cramped in one bathroom, the cabin had a lot of dust and it was not very clean, my son has an allergy and everytime we got to the cabin he was sneezing really bad, the view is beautiful in the morning, the gravel road was very scary to get in and out but we kind of get used to it after the 1st day, it snowed really hard when we were there so the kids had a good time with the sleds, the neighbourhood is very quite and safe, the kitchen is well stocked. The owners were responsive and helpful, we did not have any signal on my phone in the cabin so it was a little scary not to be able to call anyone but we were able to text message.

About the host

Welcome to our story! We are a family of 5 and live in Charlotte, NC. We fell in love with the Blue Ridge while vacationing at cabins in West Virginia and North Carolina and travelling the Blue Ridge Parkway. We decided to purchase our own cabin and had to have long range views, so we could enjoy the mountain feel every time. It also had to have surroundings safe for small children playing. We found this beautiful spot that reminds us of the mountains in the country we grew up in, Romania. The roads, the nature, the neighbors, it all feels like home. So we made it our second home! We come here a lot and relax and have fun every time. The fact that we are so close to both Boone and Blowing Rock, civilization and wilderness, was a big plus in our decision making. Winter is our favorite season up here, as we enjoy sledding, skiing and skating. If it snows in the area, than this place will be the last to melt! There are blooms around the cabin from spring to fall that delight us every year. We canoe on the New River in the summer and watch the Tweetsie’s fireworks on the 4th of Jul from the hill across the street. This is really an inspirational place and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do and decide to come back. Thank you for reading our story.
