Property was top-notch! Husband and I really appreciated the nostalgic feel of the property with it not feeling “dated”. Well-appointed kitchen and the avocado stove-top and oven were AMAZING! We put the fireplace to good use and while we brought our own firewood, there was quite a bit there when we arrived. Communication with host was seamless and response time was practically immediate! Property was immaculate when we arrived and bringing our own bed linens and bath towels was no big deal! House is deceptively large and we hope to return with either friends or family to enjoy The Pad again!

We spent our 4th consecutive year staying here:) My granddaughters are now teenagers and we enjoy the porch and the house for our board games. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Highly recommend it.

We enjoyed this 60's-styled mountain retreat's location in a lovely friendly neighborhood with incredible views just 15 minutes from Boone and 20 to Blowing Rock, This clean home was frozen in time but modernized in the important places with new shower and refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker. We enjoyed listening to the music provided as well as books and artwork of the time. The outside verandah was sprawling, a great gathering spot with grill but needed some cleaning. We did not realize we were to bring our own linens until last minute, so make sure to be prepared. The host was very responsive when we called for questions.Overall, great value, well equipped and perfect for an enjoyable getaway!

Great Option for a Getaway

We loved the retro decor, games, records and posters. The single floor layout was a plus for us. We enjoyed sitting out in the patio area breathing that cool mountain air. Great place for a summer getaway!

Excellent home! Lived the 60's vibe and getting to play some old 45's. The online info was spot on and the home owner was very prompt with checkin and out info a few days before which eased our minds considerable. The area and neighbor was teaming with wildlife and it was very refreshing to take short walks any time of the day. Will definitely stay again too!

Engagement on the mountain

My future wife and I had a romantic weekend on the mountain. We got engaged and our stay was the perfect. Our host was very responsive to any questions and directions needed. Excellent stay and highly recommend.
