Rocky Meadows Cottage by the Pond is a charming cottage that my husband and I proudly offer as a short-term vacation rental. Nestled in a peaceful mountain setting, the cottage features access to a scenic one-acre pond shared with guests of Cottage by the Pond and Rocky Meadows Cottage on the Ridge. The pond provides a relaxing spot to enjoy nature, watch wildlife, fish, or simply unwind by the water.

We had a great stay at the little cottage by the pond. We enjoyed the close proximity to downtown Blowing Rock and Boone. We enjoyed seeing some of the wildlife. We did see a rather large snake in and around the pond, so it would’ve helped my paranoia had the grass been cut prior to our arrival, but other than that it was perfect and we can’t wait to go back!

The host was great to communicate with. Homemade soap was an extra nice touch. Pond was fun for our granddaughter to fish in. Very pet friendly and super nice neighbors up the hill. Close to fun activities, like Tweetsies. Also, grocery store close by. The grill was nice for our dinners as well.

Great little cabin and so convenient and close to everything! 3 miles from downtown Blowing Rock. Very comfortable my husband and I, two young daughters, and two dogs. Stocked with everything we need. Comfy beds! And the pond was picturesque. We hoped to do more fishing but it rained most of our time here. Will definitely be back!

The cabin is quiet and peaceful and being able to walk out and enjoy the pond only adds to that feeling. The host were wonderful and and we loved the local goat milk soap that they left for us. They also provided many little details like games and artwork in the cabin created by local residents.

"Rocky Meadows" has been in my family since around 1929. My fathers' great aunt Minerva Walker Goldsmith "Aunt Bea" purchased Rocky Meadows around 1929 in order to spend summers away from the heat of Palm Beach. Aunt Bea was known for her modernist watercolor landscape paintings. She developed a love for the mountains and sold property to her friends, one being Phillip Moose, and established Artist Alley. My father built this cabin with very little assistance in 2006. It took him 2 years to complete.
