About this property

Cozy log Guesthouse on Ranch w Mtn Views

The views will take your breath away!! Relax at this unique and tranquil log Guesthouse, which is a studio, that is located near but separate from the Main House, on 10 acres. The Ranch has a classic old time feeling and style, reminiscent of typical rustic farms and old gray barns of Watauga County, in a ByGone era. Although only 10 minutes from the Town of Boone, the property faces north, with incredible long range Blue Ridge Mountain views. There are no lights or sounds from the Town, and you will feel as if you are a million miles away! It is a Stargazer's and nature lover's delight, teaming with wild life, including deer and wild turkey. No hunting, trapping or loud noises are allowed, because of the wild life and because of the horse or horses. The studio has a large kitchen, full bath (with tub and shower), a King size bed, a Queen size air mattress, 3/4 refrigerator, hot plates, toaster oven, and 50 inch TV with Roku.
Bring your dogs (no breed restrictions), and your horses! 'Dry stalls' may be available between April 1st and October1st. Don't forget carrots for Blitzen, a miniature horse, who has big blue eyes and who smiles as he greets guests!
The owner of the larger horses decided to move them off of the mountain for the winter months. But fear not - they will return in the spring. In the meantime, our mascot, Blitzen, will 'hold down the fort'. He is so funny, that you can almost hear him laugh! Please say hi to him when you arrive, and he'll be your best friend!!! Also, soon, he will be joined by a friend, named 'Donner'. So, yes. Guests will be able to feed carrots to 'Donner & Blitzen':)

Family-friendly mountain getaway
My family and I had a wonderful time staying at this property over the kids' spring break. The house is spacious, and we enjoyed the lower floor rec room. The fireplace and hot tub were also a huge plus. The beds were comfortable. Don't expect the house to be perfectly clean. It was good enough where it needed to be (linens, tubs, toilets). We would definitely visit again.

Almost Heaven
Clean, quiet and convenient to Blowing Rock and Boone. I wasn't aware the cabin was actually adjoined to the main house... a little separation would have been nice. It lacked an outdoor seating area to enjoy the view or to star gaze. Overall it was more than adequate and the horse, donkey and miniature horse were very friendly. Thanks for having us.

Quiet and peaceful farm getaway
Had a lovely time in the mountains. The horses, and Dinner and Blitzen were lovely, and the deer too. The cabin was comfy, and best of all no fireworks to terrorize my Bella. Would definitely recommend.

A little piece of heaven
Beautiful sunset and quiet stay. It was close to town, but far enough up the mountain to not hear the traffic. A peaceful stay.
