Great location- major bug bites.
This hotel is about 45 minutes from the airport. We arrived early, our room wasn’t ready. No biggie, we decide to eat lunch at the restaurant at the hotel. Food wasn’t impressive. We have a very grumpy group since we had been up since 3am our local time. Check in was supposed to be at 4pm. We checked at 4 and were told that The room wasn’t ready yet and they would call us when it was. I politely told the front desk, that doesn’t work for us. Or luggage was put away with concierge and we were hot and tired and the baby needed a nap. Five minutes later, our room was ready. The location of the room within the hotel is great. Right off the elevator and a great view of the garden area and glimpse of the ocean. Hotel staff were efficient and helpful. We had cockroaches and bugs in the kitchen and bathrooms. We tried not to complain but after a few nights, everyone was waking up with bites all over. Housekeeping came and told us they would credit us $100 and they cleaned up the areas we visibly could see bugs and set bug traps. Very very kind staff. The pool was an amazing time. The beach at the hotel isn’t really safe for kids. Lots of locals told us not to swim there due to tidal waves. There’s a super market and food trucks right outside the hotel. Overall, we had a great trip…. Minus the massive amount of bug bites.
