About this property

TuckAway Rustic Lakefront Cottage in Muskoka

TuckAway Cottage is a 1000 sq ft newly built lakefront bungalow with 200 ft of waterfront on a 1.33 acre lot in the heart of Muskoka, Ontario. It's perfect for families that would like to have a true Muskoka experience. Water is shallow, about 4 ft deep at the middle of the deck. The cottage can sleep up to 6 people. We provide linens, towels and filtered water with no additional fee for our guests. Relax and enjoy your stay.

There are 3 bedrooms. First bedroom has a double bed. The second and master bedroom have queen size beds. The water is potable from the two stage water and UV filtration system. There are also three five gallon water containers available to drink.

There are many hiking trails in the area. For example, the one behind the Watt Public School when you enter the road. We are also surrounded by hundreds of acres of crown land in the east and west parts of the lake. Be sure to check out the Rosseau Farmer's Market which opens from summer until Fall. In the winter, you can cross country ski on the hiking trails and also check out Hidden Valley Ski Resort about a 30 min drive away. Please visit the tourism website for more info.

You will be sent a google link showing everything you need to know about the cottage prior to check-in. Note: BBQ stove still not be available during the months of November to March. Having a 4x4 vehicle is strongly recommended during winter months. Be sure to read the house rules.

Beautiful place

Lake area is awesome, cottage is perfect size and very neat with a modern touch but a cozy rustic twist. Every cooking utensil was there you’d ever need, appliances all worked great. Wifi was great. 10/10 fire pit as well. If you are looking for a getaway seriously just book.

We had such a great time at this cottage. It was the perfect size with all the accommodations we needed. Beautiful spot on a quiet lake and a huge fire pit. Awesome location too puts you right in the middle of Huntsville, Bracebridge and Gravenhurst. Only negative was the fridge was starting to freeze the food so that would need servicing but otherwise, all you need is food and good company! I would rent this place again!

Delightful cottage on a beautiful quiet lake. We spent 2 weeks and that wasn't long enough! Our first week was spent with both of us doing remote work and we had no issues with the internet - and loved working from the screened in porch. The kitchen was well stocked and the bed was very comfortable. The ceiling fans throughout kept indoors at a pleasant temperature. Dreaming of our return already.

Nice cottage on a quiet lake

Very nice cottage, lots of land, large fire pit, barbecue and a great dock on a small but long lake. Would recommend to anyone wanting a week away from the city. Appreciated the water cooler. Only suggestion for the owners would be a new DVD player - lots of movies to choose from but the DVD player didn’t seem to want to play more than halfway through most of them.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was great that everything was there that we needed. One thing there should be better disposal of garbage. We had no room to bring 2 bags of garbage in our car. So we did leave the 16 $ to cover fir the two bags. I will recommend your cottage to family & friends.😊

Quick getaway!!!

Great experience, and a quick getaway from the GTA area . A 2.5 hour drive north will put you at this awesome cottage on the lake. We enjoyed a few days in the snow and plan to return in the summer!

Trip cut short

The property is beautiful and was exactly what we were looking for. Unfortunately our trip was cut short by 2 days as the septic system backed up into the shower and all over the bathroom floor. We were unable to use the one and only bathroom until the following morning when we packed up and left. Our host was good with responding and coming to an agreement on reimbursement for days missed. Wished we could have had our full week, however the days we had were full of fun and memories were made.

Amazing Cottage Experience!

Everything about this cottage was amazing! It has a private backyard that leads to the beautiful riverfront. The location is stunning! Surrounded by nature and wildlife and there’s even a waterfall nearby that was absolutely gorgeous. The cottage was also very well equipped. Communication with the host was okay most of the time. But overall, a lovely cottage perfect for a getaway to relax and enjoy nature!

Growing up, all I could do was live vicariously through the stories of my friends who had cottages. Jumping into the lake at all hours of the day, paddle boating around the lake, and roasting marshmallows by the fire pit. The idea of having a home away from home where you can spend some quality time with family to relax and have fun always sounded enticing.

Now married with two children, my wife and I decided to give our children the cottage experience we never had.

My wife and I live and work in Toronto. With our busy schedules, we often seek nature to unwind and recharge. Having this cottage is allowing my family to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city year round.

As much as we would love to spend every weekend at the cottage, it is impossible. It seems wasteful for the cottage to sit empty when it can be enjoyed by others who are in search of some peace and a cottage experience. We hope TuckAway cottage helps you to create as many wonderful memories as it has for my family.
