Enjoy direct access to the Mesabi Trail, the Giants Ridge mountain bike park, alpine and nordic skiing, beach, playground and outdoor summer pool/hottub, plus classic northern Minnesota “lake place” living from this spacious home directly within the Giants Ridge Golf & Ski Resort complex. great time at Giants Ridge

Our time at this VRBO was so fun. The place was spotless when we arrived. The villa was cosy and well designed. Owner Shaun was always timely with responses to questions or concerns before and during our stay.

First stay at Giants Ridge

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful little getaway. The property was clean and a perfect location for our family to stay while skiing at Giants Ridge. We will definitely be back.

I am a degreed professional with a variety of passions and interests. In addition to an engineering career, I have worked in the natural foods industry (various roles over several years at a food co-op), nutritional counseling, and residential construction and interior design. For the past several years, I have been dedicated to the design/build of Green Gate Guest Houses- 10 unique lodging options within the Giants Ridge Recreation Area.

I have a passion for all areas of construction, design, technology, sustainable living, renewable energy, etc., and enjoy putting ideas into action through the myriad of projects I always have going!

I enjoy nature, outdoors, exercise (running, hiking, cycling, skiing, etc), as well as the culture and arts of the city. I've traveled domestically and internationally, and value the insight gained from experiencing new cultures. I often bring back design ideas that are eventually incorporated into various projects around the property. Looking forward to some time in Scandinavia next.

Having operated my vacation rental properties for about a decade now, I have been fortunate to host such a variety of wonderful guests from all over the planet, and have enjoyed being part of the community in my hosting and travels.

Why they chose this property

I enjoy this property because it a 1 minute walk to the skiing (alpine lifts and xc trails) in the winter, and next to all the summer recreation as well. Easy access just off the Giants Ridge Road, with the Mesabi Trail, hiking trails, beach/water sports, and Giants Ridge golf, mountain bike trails, climbing tower, and restaurants all within 1/4 mile.

What makes this property unique

Pinecone Cottage is literally the nearest stand alone property to the alpine lifts/xc trails at Giants Ridge, its a short walk from your door to the spur trail just across the road.
