About this property

Beautiful stone house in charming village near the coast

This three bedroom house sits prominently in the centre of La Ville-ès-Nonais, a quiet, charming village situated between St Malo, Dinard and Dinan, on the Rance Estuary.

A quirky property with plenty of charm and spacious living areas, including two outdoor spaces.

The house is a very short drive from the Northern coast of Brittany, offering easy access to the stunning beaches at St Lunaire and the famous oyster fishing bay at Cancale as well as easy access from the port of St Malo.

The name Ancienne Poste derives from the property's heritage... The building was at one time the village Post Office and cider-producing barn to the rear, which have now been beautifully incorporated into this recently renovated three-storey property.

A real home-away-from-home, this house is perfect for one large, or two small families with children. L’Ancienne Poste comfortably sleeps eight guests in two double bedrooms, one bunk bedroom and a mezzanine snug with twin beds.

Ground Floor:
Main entrance; living room with fireplace & access to the interior courtyard (perfect for outdoor dining in the summer months); fully fitted utility room with washing machine & tumble dryer; spacious open plan kitchen/dining room with access to the interior courtyard & rear patio; mezzanine level above the kitchen with desk area and twin beds.

First Floor:
Large double bedroom with plenty of storage space and natural light; cosy children’s bunk bedroom with large chest-of-drawers and hanging rail; modern family bathroom with bath/shower, sink, WC and heated towel rail.

Second Floor:
Spacious master double bedroom with unique features including double height ceiling and plenty of natural light; en-suite bathroom with large shower, sink, WC and heated towel rail.

** PLEASE NOTE the mezzanine level is currently in the process of refurbishment, so can be used but is not fully finished.

Charming stay in the heart of a beautiful village
We had an absolutely wonderful weeklong stay at L'Ancienne Poste. The home is charming and well-appointed. We’ve rented VRBO houses all over France and it’s always appreciated when you stay at a place where the owners pay attention to detail. To name only a few details: Rosenthal china, sharp and plentiful chef’s knives, modern appliances, exceptionally fluffy towels, excellent bed linens. The double exposure kitchen was a treat to be in. Parking was literally a few steps away near the church and there was always a spot available for us. there is a beautiful, private, enclosed terrace that can be accessed from two points in the house. While there isn’t much by way of retail in the village, there is a really good boulangerie/patisserie, La Mie Nonaisienne, operated by a young couple just about 100 metres up the street - open from 7-1, then again from 3-7. We used it daily. Great spot as a home base for day trips. Another good sign - every question we had before and during our stay was answered within minutes via email or text by Jess. Well done.
