Conveniently located in Mountain Home, close to Wal-Mart yet minutes to Lake Norfork. Recently renovated with large open living room, complete new kitchen with enough dining space for 8, cozy fireplace , covered back porch, fenced yard for pets and 4 acres for plenty of room for your lake or river toys. FREE wifi. Sleeps 4 comfortably.

Wonderful wooded backyard yet minutes to shopping/dining.

Great place to stay!

Large property with plenty of parking and had a carport that we could put our boat under. Close enough to Norfolk Lake and shopping. Would stay again next time in that area.

Great stay. The place is clean and owner is very nice. We had a great time. I’d suggest putting a drip coffee maker in the unit for those of us that still want a pot of coffee rather than the Keurig. We would stay here again.

Property was perfect for what my family of 4 needed with the exception of the airconditioner. The unit had trouble reaching the bedrooms. I do suggest adding window units, especially to the queen bedroom. Other than that, property was great and owners were quick to respond.

Beautiful house on lovely property

Very comfortable 2 BR/1Ba home - very cute decorations and lovingly cared for. The porch is a great place to sit and sip coffee in the morning. We saw several deer, which made our dogs’ day! Would definitely recommend for families looking for a comfortable stay with easy access to town. Will definitely stay again on our next trip!

Great hosts

All as described and worked great for my visit with family and doing some hiking in the area. Very convenient to town and country. Dale and Penny were great communicators and hosts, especially when the super cold storm of Christmas 2022 hit! My pooch and I loved having some open area behind the house to take short morning walks.

We’re actually from the area and decided to come back and visit for a few weeks and Villa Roost was seriously perfect for my little family! My 1.5 year old loved the yard and how much room he had to just wander. Super close to Walmart, like a minute drive. Thank you, Dale and Penny! We loved the property!!

Home worked well for our needs.

Overall, this home worked well for what we needed. The convenience of being in town and close to things was great. The home was thoughtfully decorated as well! I would say the upkeep of the yard and maybe an additional A/C unit in each bedroom would be helpful.

Nathan, We really appreciate you giving us a review. This is something we take seriously and use guest feedback to improve concerns. It was a pleasure having you stay with us and if I put myself in your shoes, I can certainly understand your comments. I apologize about the lawn. It should have been mowed before you for there. We were having record rainfall the periods 2 weeks and still going on during your stay. The company we contract with that takes care of our mowing tried to take care of this at the property before you arrived, but the equipment was getting stuck and it would have left the grounds in a huge mess. The record rainfall, also meant record humidity, and it does create a challenge for climate control. We had an additional main climate control unit installed last year to help deal with extreme heat or cold temperatures. We were never aware that this was a problem for you. When we inspected the property after you left, the new climate control that we installed was not on the proper setting, so it was not cooling like it should. We would have been happy to help you with that. I wish we would have known. The water pressure was something we were not aware of either, but we will have it inspected and have whatever repairs are needed. Our guests are very important to us and I sincerely apologize that you had a less than 5☆ experience. Thank you so much. Dale Green

Comfortable, Conveniently Located Cottage in Mountain Home

We enjoyed our stay at the property in Mountain Home. The property was clean and comfortable overall. The hosts were very accommodating and responded quickly to all questions and requests! The location of the home was great; very conveniently located to commercial areas of town, but had a large vacant property that felt like you had some space too. We chose this property because it had a fenced yard for our dogs. Unfortunately the fenced yard was very disappointing because it is tiny. I wasn't able to determine the size of the fenced yard from the property description and photos on the listing. Also, the grass was very high in the yard and on the larger property. We've had a lot of rain in the area lately which I understand necessitates more frequent mowing and yard maintenance, but the tall grass was uncomfortable and messy for walking the dogs, which was necessary because of the small size of the fenced back yard.

Hi DeAnn, Your review was very kind and we appreciate you staying with us. This has been an unusual year for us in 2025. The weather patterns across the country have been crazy. Here it is the beginning of July, and we have already received over 40" of rain. We are mowing 2-3 days at times, and I apologize you had to deal with this. The property sits on several acres and normally works well for walking areas. They tried to mow again the day before you arrived, but got equipment stuck. We normally do not allow pets as large as yours, but it all worked out and you were great guests.

Reasonably priced property. Very close to shopping centers and dining. Bathroom is small. Kitchen is large along with common area. Nice entertainment options inside. A/C could work better in bedroom. We had to keep the BR door open to keep cool.

Fine, two bedroom one bath, close to shopping.

Dale was very helpful. House was nice. Beds were comfortable. Internet/tv worked fine. Plenty of seating for visiting inside. On a large lot, might be nice to have a walking trail mowed around property, ground was too wet for our stay to explore. I would prefer deadbolts on the outside doors, tvs and ceiling fans in the bedrooms; but thats just my preference. We were there for the spring break 2020 virus shutdown.

mt home 2020

first the positive - the owner was very responsive to my not having hot water ( a new water heater was put in the next day) and several other minor concerns. however, the cleanliness of the house was overall poor. whoever is cleaning is doing a substandard job. the windows were dirty and one was cracked, the floors were dusty, dirty under the sofa, the stove, refrigerator and toilet were not very clean. also, the gates and fence around the backyard are in poor repair. the back gate was held closed with a clothesline rope that is older than i am and a small dog could easily push their way out, there was trash in the grass, which had not been cut for some time. i would not stay here again.

There is never a good time for hot water to go out and it happened the first night for Vicki, and it set the tone for her entire stay. I had service guys out first thing the following morning to correct the problem, and I gave Vicki my cell number so she could call me direct, day or night if any other issues should arise. As property owners, my wife and I try to make our guests feel like family and I feel bad that we never made a good connection. I made sure to check on her in some form on a daily basis, and I always had the impression that we had a satisfied guest. I was shocked to see that she gave us a 2star rating after rolling out the red carpet for her and taking her late night calls/texts, and compensating her for the initial hot water issue. I had absolutely no problem running over if she needed help entering the correct spelling for a Wi-Fi passcode, or helping with a TV remote. I wish Vicki the best and I am very sorry she had a bad experience, but I can honestly say that we have numerous guests that choose to have extended stays or schedule a return visit far in advance just to stay at our place again. We are committed to fixing any issues and doing a better job next time.

2 week stay

We text the owner for a code to get in and he allowed us to check in an hour early. When we showed up the trash cans were full of trash. I text the owner who was very responsive. I put the trash out on the curb for them since Tuesday was the pick up day. Which, I didnt mind doing at all. When we opened the house it smelled of mothballs and the hardwood floors were dirty. The temperature was difficult to adjust so the house was to hot most of the time. The bedroom space was big which is great but the mattress in the master was hard and we stuck to the plastic mattress cover. So we didn't get much sleep. Then the hot water in the bathroom sink would not get hot. The hot water in the shower came on pretty quick but the bathroom and kitchen sink had to run for 5 to 8 minutes in order to get hot. The water heater is outside in the shed along with the washer and dryer and you have to ask for a code to access. We went out for a few hours the next day and when we returned the house smelled of sewer. When I texted the owner he said sometimes that happens when the gas heater kicks on because the house is so old. He said to feel free to adjust the temperature if we wanted to and the smell would go away in a few hours. We left again and when we returned that night tge smell was gone. There was plenty of space for our pet to run and play in the back yard and there is a fenced area out back that has a patio and chairs that was a nice place to relax in the evenings. There was plenty of couch space in the living room and the wifi worked great for watching TV. The owners are very nice and responsive but I don't recommend staying here more than for a weekend getaway. We stayed for 2 weeks.

We are able to comfortably accommodate 6 people with one king bed, 1 queen and 1 queen sleeper sofa.
Villa Roost has a fully equipped and newly renovated kitchen with full size refrigerator, electric range, microwave and multiple seating in 2 dining areas.
The living room has a large open floor plan complete with large flat screen tv, dvd, and cozy fireplace.
Conveniently located in Mountain Home within walking distance to several restaurants and shopping and only minutes to Lake Norfork public access.
Ample parking on our 4 acres for multiple vehicles, lake toys and trailers.
We know pets are a vital part of many families and we are happy to accommodate them as well with are fenced backyard.
With our renovations recently completed we would be excited to host your next
get-together.
