18th Century spacious, generously furbished farmhouse with beautiful grounds including a modern organic Irish kitchen garden – guests are welcome to harvest in-season produce. Sleeps 8 persons with flexible options; suitable for 2 families, or 4 couples (twin beds that convert to superkings), or corporate bookings. An expansive balcony overlooks the private grounds, and gentle rolling hills of the rural Irish landscape. Large picture windows in a sun room bring the garden indoors! A spacious and wonderfully restored stone house, great hosts, neighboring cows, in a quiet and peaceful setting. Easy access to nearby towns and attractions but away from it all in case you want to be all by yourself. If you're lucky the friendly neighbor dogs will pay you a visit.

The experience of a lifetime staying in the countryside of Ireland

As an American with ancestry from Galway Ireland, this is an absolute must for me to come to Ireland before I die. The property we stayed at about a house was wonderful.

Ardboula House is a great place to stay

My family and I stayed at Ardboula House for our family vacation. It was a great place to have as a home base for our day trips but it was also very comfortable to just relax and hang out. The setting is beautiful and all the neighborhood animals were an added benefit. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here.

Relaxing at the farmhouse

Has a wonderful relaxing & fun stay at Ardboula. Magical warm sunny evenings outside the house, great pub dinners & music, easy access to sightseeing- Cliffs of Moher, Knock, local walks. Great attentive hosts Christine & family made the stay even more special. Roomy & very comfortable house in magnificent location. Sight of the full moon rising over hill, lovely.

Ireland Farmhouse

This place was amazing. It is off the beaten path, but close to many beautiful places to visit. We had a lovely family vacation with our two adult boys. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to be outside of the city life, surrounded by beautiful and peaceful farm land. The host Christine is so helpful and informative and knows so much about the area. Thank you for an unforgettable family vacation.

Great location, close to town yet out in the country. The house is roomy and comfortable, which is a feat for its age. The setting allowed an easing into the morning with time in the tranquil outside space and regenerating from a busy day of sightseeing in the evening. As host, Christine is on top of everything. She and the house lived up to its online ratings.

Fabulous accommodations and loving host family

Although we came at a difficult time with the COVID-19 virus on the rise the O’Brien family was welcoming and accommodating to all of us. What a beautiful family!!! Their old family home is full of rich history and if walls could talk I would bet there would be many stories to share. Truly enjoyed our time and would highly recommend this piece of heaven 🙏🏻 Thank you to the O’Brien family for your hospitality and kindness.

Country roads

A country lane leads to this old farmhouse rehabbed with every modern convenience. Large window gives picture perfect view of cows in their pasture as well as mysterious poles built by Guinness world record holder of Highland Games event. Location is convenient to Galway Limerick and south central attractions. Christine is a gracious and interesting host. Loved every minute at the house.

Tour Ireland like a local

We rented this property to have an informal family reunion in Ireland. Staying at this beautiful farm house was the absolute best way to see everything that we wanted to on our trip. We would have breakfast in the morning and then take off for the day’s destination. At night we would all regroup and plan for another fun day. The house has so much charm. It is immaculate and laid out so well for a group. Christine as the hostess is so involved and so much fun! This place is a definite yes!! Highly recommend. We will be back!

First of all, Christine is a fabulous host. I cannot say enough about her hospitality and how much she cares about the people staying in her home.If you are looking for a full Ireland experience then this house is for you. It has old Irish country charm and is quiet and fairly remote. For us, it was just too far from the places we needed to go and getting Taxis was difficult because it was far. We had 8 people and one car and that was on us, not a reflection of the home. The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of space, but seating 8 in the sun room was difficult. The dining area is spacious and we were able to cook meals in the fully stocked kitchen. There are 3 full bathrooms with pedestal sinks. Some of the rooms have flexibility with having twin beds or putting them together for a larger bed. We had plenty of space.

Best ever!

The first thing we did upon checking is was run up the beautiful spiral stairchase to the balcony and look at the stars. They were so bright! Christine checked on us frequently as we had come from Florida and the weather in Ireland was a bit cooler than we are accustomed to-she wanted to make sure we were warm enough.Christine gave us several ideas for places to visit in the area and went so far as to order and hide a birthday cake for my husband and sister who had mile marker birthdays.We had plenty of room, the kitchen was stocked, the beds were comfortable and warm, plenty of room to park, rural but not so remote that we couldnt get to the Cliffs or Moher or Galway in less than an hour. We have more adventures to plan but if we get a chance to return to Ireland, we will book again here!

Beautiful country home!

The house was beautiful and just the right amount of country setting. Was great to get to stay in the Ireland countryside! Christine was a phenomenal host. When we arrived, it was after some people had already been in Europe for a week and we were counting on the washer and dryer. Unfortunately the washer didn’t work when we got there, but without a beat Christine offered to do all of our laundry at her own home and brought it back to us later in the day. We also had a question of what the contraption was across the road, and we got a full demonstration from her family member (the Guiness record holder) for Sheaf tossing! A great stay, and we all enjoyed the home fully! Thanks again for the stay Christine!

Disappointing

Although this lovely Georgian farmhouse is full of potential, it did not come up to our expectations. The kitchen was poorly equipped, there were many flies in the house on our arrival and the general cleanliness was substandard. Problems with hot water and a shower that was either scolding hot or freezing cold! As far as value for money is concerned, it was not only overpriced for what was offered, but the fact that the full amount was required at the time of booking more than six months in advance (no initial deposit) meant that someone was earning interest on our money and did not even bother to use it to improve the poor conditions. I shall be seeking compensation from either the owner or the agents.

There are several allegations here, the only actual correct one is the problem with the shower which we spoke about and tried to repair during your stay. I am sorry that you are disappointed, so are we with your poor review. You didn't mention that we spoke just before you checked out and I apologised for that and assured you that we did not receive any funds until after you checked in. Furthermore, we maintain a clean property and were inspected only days after your departure by Failte Ireland and continue the Welcome Standard award. These scathing statements are unfounded, untrue and undeserved. You had plenty of opportunity to say it to me directly.

I hate to leave a poor review, but I wish someone had done that for me & saved me the displeasure of this experience. I honestly don’t know how the reviews I saw were so good. It’s so expensive to travel overseas, so when you spend that kind of money, you want an epic experience. This house was a turn-off the minute we stepped through the door. It had a strong, musty smell. If you have allergies, stay away. It was also very dirty. There were layers of dust, the furniture was old and dusty/dirty in the family room (not what was pictured on the website. May have been staged) and the dishes were dirty. I pulled a cup from the cabinet and it had coffee in it! All the pots and pans were covered in grease. The kitchen cabinets look sparkling and new in the pics, but they are actually very old and dirty. Paper towels were left for us that had old food on them. Cobwebs and spiders galore. I get this is an old house in the country, but this wasn’t even clean. The washing machine/dryer didn’t work. Our clothes came out of the wash smelling horrible. Tried to dry them just so I wouldn’t pack wet clothes and after an hour, they were still wet and smelly. I bagged them up tightly & called it a day. Bedrooms were somewhat clean but the linens smelled so musty. I actually can’t believe this is an approved VRBO. Sad to have sacrificed so much money for this. Even my kids were grateful to be leaving there. Owner was very nice, but house is really quite bad. Only good was the farm dogs nearby.

I have to dispute these claims and wish you had addressed any concerns to me so that I could have helped you in any way. All the equipment in the house is in working order, and if you had a problem with working any of them, a quick text would have resulted in a rapid response. We take a lot of pride in our farm and property and have not had a review like this in 12 years of business.

Perfect Ireland experience. The house is beautiful, with beautiful views. Excellent location to explore the southwest coast of Ireland and to interact with the lovely local people of Ireland! Nice & Quiet

We really enjoyed our stay in Tulla. There were 7 of us and the house fit us perfectly. The beds are comfortable and kitchen is well-stocked with everything you’ll need. We grilled dinner outside one night. Watched cows being herded across the street from our rooftop terrace. Christine is a great hostess and so helpful. We have very good memories of our time spent at Abdoula House.
