Vintage retro lakefront home located on Lake Chetek in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. Perfect for friends and family to relax and enjoy island living while fishing, walking, hiking, snowmobiling or whatever strikes your fancy! This home has hardwood floors, a wood burning fireplace, two bedrooms each with a double bed, large living and dining rooms, full kitchen and bathroom as well as a lakefront deck, BBQ Grill and direct access to Lake Chetek. There's room for up to three guest vehicles and all linens, bath towels and wash cloths are supplied.

Fishing wasn’t great on Lake Chetek but the guys found another lake close by that was a winner. They enjoyed the cabin-had everything they needed.

Family Reunion Stay

Property has a very nostalgic appeal, great example of an authentic, lake cottage/property. Would have been nice if AC worked (was hot) buy fans were great for sleeping. Could use some attention to trimming plants/greenery and cleanup around building. Loved the ambiance (as pictured) and very nice location. Recommend for those looking more to that rustic, authentic lakefront stay! We enjoyed but spent bulk of our time at centralized family reunion. Would stay again.

Adorable cottage with amazing views of Lake Chetek

What an amazing off-season find, we definitely would stay there again. We had the entire place to ourselves and enjoyed the peace the lake provided. The cottage was adorable, comfortable and very clean.

Cozy, cute, vintage

This place was adorable and a perfect relaxing getaway. We used this as a sleeping spot while we explored local state parks. We loved the firepit right by the lake, thre lots tractors and toys, the outdoor table for eating, the grill, and the record player. Would definitely rent again.

Not what we were expecting.

Enjoyed being on the lake. Very quiet since we were here in spring but was surprised how close other cabins and trailers were to cabin. First renters for the year so cabin had bad odor and took about a day to heat up cabin. Bathroom door not good. Tv broke. Record player does not work.

Great stay! Beautiful lake.

Communication was very poor with owner. Didn’t return messages months prior to trip. Had a hard time getting into property due to lack of response. But eventually got the code for entrance. Great cabin in the woods, very spacious for an entire family. Beds were Tempur-pedic which were very comfortable. Had a mix of modern and cool mid century style throughout the cabin with a lot of charm. Fishing was OK for us. There IS a marina in town that we rented a fishing boat from and we conveniently motored back to the cabin and docked it all week at the property. Heads up, being so remote ride share apps were a hit and miss on certain days. We weren’t able to get a ride from the marina back to the cabin because no drivers were available but the marina mechanic gave us a lift thankfully! Very peaceful Very quiet, great natural area with alot of charm. Overall great stay!

quiet and beautiful

I went there for a writing retreat, and it worked out perfectly. Wonderful view of the lake and the town real close (for example the bakery). Really enjoyed the house and my stay

Wonderful weekend getaway!

My fiancé and I wanted a relaxing getaway and were delighted to find such a quaint, lakefront cabin within driving distance from the Twin Cities! The property is gorgeous-- beautiful trees, sweeping lakefront views, and a wonderfully cozy cabin. The bed is firm and comfy and the living room is spacious. Thanks to J.D. and family for a wonderful stay at Rainbow's End Resort! We hope to come back at some point in the future with other friends/family and stay in the main cabin or rent some of the smaller cabins on the property as well. 5 stars across the board!!

I am one of 5 kids and we all have a part in owning the Rainbow's End Resort. Our grandfather owned a resort in Montello, WI so it has always been a passion of ours to find a resort to call our own someday.
