About this property

Teeny Tiny Sweet Cottage by the Bay

Our tiny cottage is more than 100 years old, it has undergone some sprucing up over the years, but remains quirky and mismatched , like a summer cabin should be. It is adequately equipped for a relaxing vacation or short stay. There is 1 bedroom with a double bed, and a couch that transforms into a 2nd queen bed. There is a small private patio to cook out and enjoy an evening post beach.
When you request to reserve, please indicate where you are traveling from.
We are conveniently located 6 minute drive from the Cape Cod Canal, Maritime Academy, bike paths, and water park. five minutes away is a small organic farm that sells seasonal fresh veggies. Cottage is steps away from sandy association beach that is on the bay. The neighborhood of tiny cottages is quiet and a nice place to take an after dinner stroll.
The bay is calm like a lake, we love spending lazy afternoons floating on inflatable raft, sometimes paddle boarding, kayaking, or just soaking up some warm sun on the sand. seasonal guests bring sheets & towels
Please indicate when you are traveling from when you request a reservation. We do allow additional guests - as long as everyone is aware of the tiny nature of the space.

Relaxing

If you love to just sit and relax by the shore in the most quiets place on the Cape this is it... I don't think I've ever been so relaxed...

A nice and peaceful retreat

I stayed here for 4 weeks in October and recommend this teeny tiny Cottage to anybody who wants to have a nice private getaway for themselves. I'm sure it would be fine for a couple or even more than two people, for a short stay. I stayed there alone and it happens to be in the same neighborhood where my girlfriend lives so it was a convenient spot for me and without sharing the space it was big enough. I enjoyed being left alone, didn't have any unexpected visitors, and while there are other cottages in close proximity, I did not feel they were encroaching on my space or anything like that. There are many windows, which was nice, but I also liked that there were curtains on all of them so if I wanted privacy I could close them. For the most part it was pretty quiet and not really that many people there on the weekends, and even fewer during the week at this time of year. The small private beach is lovely for taking walks, or relaxing outside. The water seemed calm and it was too cold for me to try swimming or anything like that but I did enjoy going out there from time to time throughout my stay. I also very much enjoyed the back patio. I did not use the grill but probably should have, and it was nice having a kitchen. Stores and restaurants are not too far away but I would recommend bringing a car when staying here. The whole area is quite beautiful and my trip was quite pleasant. Also a great value! Love this area in Fall and I'm sure the summer is great too!

Capt. Hideaway Wee Cottage

Owner was responsive to emails. There are hidden switches in the broom closet. There were plenty of fans but all needed to be cleaned so they can ouch air. Oven was not clean. Frozen food left in freezer from previous occupant. Clothes were left in the bureau from previous occupant. Vacuum needed to be emptied and cleaned to work better. No linens, no towels, no bar soap. The toaster, microwave, & coffee maker all worked fine. Washer took some figuring out and had to be watched since it would stop mid cycle. It filled real slowly. Dryer worked well. Grill wasn’t used. Access to the beach was good.

Nice little beach cottage

Part of a close clustered group of cottages, it is just a skip away from a beautiful beach on the bay. It’s a cozy little place - if you are on the tall side be aware: you will likely hit your head. The kitchen is pretty well equipped (bring paper towels and such, you know, like you do) but the fridge is new and the range is gas and old school. There’s heat and A/C if you need them. The main bed wasn’t the coziest, but the full sized pullout couch is comfy enough for sleeping. Perfect for a couple of adults escaping from the kids for a few days.

Sweet get away

We absolutely loved it! But on the site it said location was 700 head of the bay. So we met the neighbors! Lol

A small cottage that’s big on charm!

For a small cottage this had everything you could need! Clean and updated with a European/French shabby chic feel! Centrally located with easy access to the major roads. We came for a Christmas stay, and while this is really best suited as a 3 season cottage we were still comfortable and warm. I would highly recommend this rental and when I return to the area will be a repeat guest.

we do welcome children though we have made no special child safety precautions. Our own children adore the tiny cottage.

Why they chose this property

Everyone loves the close proximity to the private sandy beach - no driving/ traffic/ parking or hassle - just walk on over with a good book in hand. pop back to cottage as needed simple and relaxed summer at the shore.

What makes this property unique

it is super old and has not been "modernized "- we love the old vintage beach feel
