A stone house, built in the the beginning of the 20th century, renovated in a hobo/ artistic style, with a lot of free space and a breathtaking view to the sea. The middle floor is the living space with an open kitchen, fireplace and a small balcony leading to the garden terrace. The upper floor is a large dance studio with a double bed, and a lot of living and working space. the 2 floors have windows in all 4 walls and a beautiful view. The garden floor has a separate bedroom, which is cool and dark. The quite village of Melivoia is on 400 m high and 8 km away from the longest seaside of Greece. A car is a must! The house is suitable for families, couples and friends that can live well with each other as there are no separate rooms! It is ideal for artists or anybody in need of space, quietness and unblocked view, in a great area for hiking and swimming. The house has a fully equipped kitchen for many people, and a garden terrace for dinning out.

We had a wonderful time, such a great property and location. Close to a monastery of Ag Pantalemon towards Agia dating from 13th century. Close to beaches as well! Wish we could have stayed longer!

Dear Robert and family, thank you very much for the taking good care of our house! You are always welcome back!!
Me and my four grown-up children spent some wonderful and relaxing days in Roula’s beautiful house, going on trips to the river, the cliffs, the thermal springs of Kokkino Nero, and to Mt Ossa in the daytime, and ate excellent meals at Gantem and the Melovoia market place in the evenings. But the breakfasts in Roula’s garden were perhaps the best thing of it all!
I used to think, how could it be to live in "lost in time" mountain village. Now I know it :-).
The house is suitable for families and groups of (very) good friends. As Roula informed me before - your life there would be "very collective". The main sleeping room upstairs is an open space, You can also sleep in the living room and at the garden floor. The ceilings are made of wood - you can hear everybody in the house very well ;-).
The house itself is very well equipped. However you need to remember, that it's old and needs some care and attention. As previous guests wrote - this place is not "Hilton" - it's simple, ancient stone house with it's own character. If you prefer hotel standard, just look for it somewhere else.
The people at the village are very friendly, especially the nearest neighbours - Stavroula and Eurypides. Every single day they offered us great tomatoes and the other vegetables from their garden. Thanks a lot for their kindness:-).
It's worth to use local shops - they do not offer much staff, but you cas buy great feta cheese, bread and (sometimes) really tasty meat products from the butcher (they are not open every day).
What else - we can recommend great beach near "Cuba" beach bar in Velika. It's also worth to find the road to waterfall and ruins of Melivoia castle. If you like to visit old Byzantine monasteries - you can also find them around.
We had the perfect time in Melivoia, thanks for everything :-).

Uriges Haus
Allerdings sollte man keinen Hotel Charakter erwarten.

Lovely location - atmospheric property
Had a lovely stay in this atmospheric property in a lovely mountain village. The top floor is stunning - so relaxing to sit in a room that gives off its own feeling of spirituality (the roof ceiling is awesome). The views from all levels are spectacular. The rustic charm will suit those who are at home away from main tourist locations and trappings. The village was quiet in May but shops open and people friendly. Panoramic views driving up and down from Velika/Agia - bit of a squeeze and sharp intakes of breath driving the hire car through the village but all manageable and parking always available somewhere! Countryside so beautiful with lovely walks up & down the mountains. Trip to waterfall well worth it. Brilliant football pitch at top of town! A place to relax and take time to reflect but plenty of opportunity to do more in surrounding area - we climbed some of Mt.Olympus and spent time in Volos. Roula - Thank you for the opportunity to experience staying in your house. Donald & Katie

Badebuchten in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Merci, Roula !!!

We liked it very well in the stone house
We liked it very well in the stone house. Far away from mass tourism in the middle of a village, the house. Here you can spend a quiet time. The nearby beach (8 km) in Velika is clean. The village has a small supermarket and a coffee. Here takes place not played live for tourists, but the real Greek country life. Everyone has a different taste and demand for the holiday. For us everything was quite as fine.Note: Who's afraid of geckos, lizards or small beetles, a fully air conditioned all inclusive hotel should probably prefer to book on Mykonos or stay at home.
I am a choreographer and Dance Movement Psychotherapist. I lived and studied many years in Europe, I travel a lot and I am now based, with my life partner Kostas, in Larissa, 40 klm. from the house in MELIVOIA
Why they chose this property
After many years in big European cities I fell in love with the house, and worked hard to create finally this multi-functional oasis. It is intended for both work and holidays and this is why everything can be moved flexibly around!
What makes this property unique
The open view of the house in combination with the big living space, creates this unique feeling of stability and freedom that we humans need. In this house one can recharge and be creative in the same time! When inside one has the feeling of being in a castle with stone walls 80 cm thick, and windows all around.
