Lovely private cabin located in the country - ask us about family reunions also

A lovely cabin with 2 bedrooms plus a loft with up to 3 beds and 2 bathrooms . Complete kitchen for making your own meals or we we will provide meals at an extra charge. Located in a quiet country setting..
Along with our jet tub for soaking, you can curl up on a love seat in the main sitting area watching a DVD or reading one of the many books available.
All this after a hike along the coulee edge.
OR There is great opportunity for skidooing in the coulee hills.
We are only 10 minutes from Halkirk and the rejuvenated Halkirk Hotel or the little “Flea Market” Store.
25 minutes from Castor where in the summer there is paddle boarding , kayaking etc on the picturesque Creek
35 min from Stettler where the Central Alberta Tour train ride
35 min to Forestburg.
Big Knife Park and the Battle River are only 20 min away with great hiking
Less than an hour to Buffalo Lake and just over an hour to Prairie Oasis ( a man made lake with nice green space and good boating).
Come winter we are only about 20 min to the little Alliance Ski Hill.

Super clean and cozy cabin with everything you need for cooking, baking, sleeping and bathing. Lots of beautiful land to explore, animals to visit ( horses, chickens, cats). The owners are great hosts and made sure the cabin has eveything needed to make your stay comfy and cozy. We loved the jetted tub, the size of the lofted bedroom and the huge assortment of books, indoor and outdoor games to keep us entertained in the evenings. Nice, large BBQ and fire pit area as well!

Wow! Where do I start? From the booking to the check out seamless communication. Bernie & Bernice are great hosts. We loved the property and being able to enjoy it all. My daughter rode a horse for the first time- Bernie was SO patient with her..Thank you again! The cabin was great for the 5 of us and our dogs. We enjoyed the stories of the history of the area as well amd learning about your family. Very humbling and blessed to have enjoyed your place and to meet you.

Great, quaint little spot

We were suprised about all of the different games and activities they had, like a pond on the property fir for a canoe. We also really enjoyed the cats amd the horses. Hosts were lovely as well.

We've stayed with Bernie and Bernice a few times over the past few years because our kids keep asking to go back.The cabin is lovely and spacious, has everything you need. Fantastic

We stayed for 6 days in this beautiful house. We immediately felt at home thanks to Bernice and Bernie. So nice to sit on the veranda and watch the beautiful surroundings supported by Tigger & Captain. The tour with Bernie in the side by side was one of the highlights for me. Thank you for hosting us. Excellent, nice and quiet cabin

Bernice and a Bernie were fantastic hosts, very warm welcome at check in, they were excellent communicators providing detailed instructions on how to get there. We loved the disc golf baskets just outside, they provided us with discs to play, bocci ball and corn hole too. We had a fantastic time there. Thank you very much for hosting us.

Home Away From Home Getaway

Taste and See Cabin was exactly the easy, relaxing getaway our family was looking for! The cabin was comfortable, clean, and had all the things we needed to prepare meals, barbecue and enjoy the firepit. Our children (7 and 4) loved visiting the horses and chickens and made friends with the farm’s two friendly cats. The hosts were incredibly hospitable, making themselves available if we needed them but also giving us privacy to enjoy their lovely property. They even provided us with buckets to pick saskatoons and sent us home with zucchini and lettuce from the garden! We appreciated learning about the farm and exploring the beautiful coulees with the owner. Cabin is close to Big Knife Provincial Park and the town of Stettler for some exploring but we found we could have simply stayed there for 3 nights and been very content! I would not hesitate to recommend Taste and See to any friends or family looking for a quiet, easy getaway to reset and reconnect with family. Thank you for everything, Bernice & Bernie

The cabin was exactly what we were looking for, a time away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It had everything we needed and the atmosphere was so peaceful. The owners were amazing.

Neat cabin it was a great stay. Very close to the owners home not secluded

My experience with the owner was great. I did have an issue with the vrbo site. A lot of add ons a 2 night stay was expensive but we enjoyed it. We went to relax so it was great.

Amazing get away

We went on a girls trip away. It was amazing. Cabin was lovely and Bernie and Bernice were the greatest!!! We will be talking about this vacation for a long time. We had the best time. Hope to come back again one day and bring our families. ❤️

Blew away our expectations

Clean, idyllic, in the middle of beautiful ranchlands, the experience of this cabin has impressed us to come back soon. It is everything we wanted in a rustic, isolated cabin while having all of the amenities of a city home. Excellent caretakers helped elevate our time while giving us all the time alone we wanted. Highly recommend.

Heaven in the country

What an amazing weekend. We wanted to get away from it all and this was the perfect place to do that. I cannot recommend this place enough. It was absolutely beautiful scenery, the cutest cabin ever and more relaxing than you can imagine. If you want a place to disconnect from the world and reconnect with your partner/family this is your place. The hosts were amazing as was Jesse the lab and her posse of kittens. I will definitely be going back.

Quiet country time

The property had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. My friend and I needed some time away from our busy nursing jobs post covid, and this home away from home was just what we needed. They had a friendly farm dog, som friendly cats and horses. We took walks around the property, sat in front of the fire pit and roasted hotdogs and smores. It was great.

We did enjoy ourselves at our VRBO. It was moral rural than anticipated. very long gravel road. Maybe inform guests of this if they are worried about their vehicles. A full size bbq would be an asset. We love the owners. They had lots of stories to tell about the areas. A wonderful yellow lab and kitties and chickens were our company and entertainment. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

Quiet property in a beautiful area. Hosts were great. Lots of yard games available to use. Kitchen was well stocked. Loved being able to walk around the property and say hi to the horses and cats. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to get away and spend some quality time with friends or family!
