SEAS THE SUN – DIRECTIONS TO COTTAGE FROM MAIN GATE

As you arrive at the main security gate of Middlevlei Estate, the guard on duty will ask you to sign in please.

Proceed straight along the tar road after going through the boom gate. You will pass a 3 way stop street – keep straight. Next you will see tennis courts on the right hand side, and a sign saying “Reception”. Keep going a little further and you will see a gravel road to the LEFT with the name MEERENSEE signposted on a white wall. Go LEFT onto the gravel road. (If you keep going straight you will get to the lagoon)

Drive down the gravel road to the bottom T Junction. Turn right at the bottom T junction into MUSSELCRACKER. You will see Chalet 5 straight ahead at the end of the cul de sac. Please park next to the wall under the #5 sign. Follow the path to the front patio and door, and locate the blue key safe on the wall. Unscramble the digits to 555 to release the key and gate tag. There is no burglar alarm.

Thank you for your booking to stay at Seas the Sun. The actual address is CHALET 5, MEERENSEE, MIDDLEVLEI ESTATE, near Fisherhaven. If you are using GPS, look for the cottage next door called LAGOON AND SEA to direct you. Our co ordinates seem to be inaccurate. We look forward to your arrival and we’re sure you will enjoy it there!

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have after reading all the info below.

The front door key and main gate tag will be left for you in a key safe near the front door of the cottage. It works just like a bicycle lock, with 3 digits to be aligned to open the safe. ( I will advise by whatsapp on the day – please message me 30 mins before your arrival) and it will open. Please don’t forget to leave the keys in there again on your departure and scramble the digits. Check in time is from 2pm and check out time is latest 9.30am unless otherwise arranged. If there are no bookings either side of yours, we can extend this.

You will have LIMITED WI FI and Compact DSTV channels to enjoy. The password for the wifi can be found in the guest book on arrival.

We do not charge a breakage deposit as we would like you to feel “at home” in our beach cottage. You should find all you need, and if anything gets broken or damaged, kindly let me know, and we trust you to replace or pay for the damages. The washing machine and tumble drier are not for the tenants use unfortunately. SMOKING IS PERMITTED ON THE PATIO OR OUTSIDE ONLY PLEASE!

We supply all your linen and bath towels but please bring your own swimming towels, beach umbrellas, braai wood, charcoal and firelighters. Please bring your own favourite bath soap as well. The cosy kitchen should have all that you need, but do let us know if there is something we have forgotten.

A QUICK TOUR…..

There are plastic chairs and a table for your use on the outside patio and also a concrete table and benches in the garden which are for your exclusive use. You will find a bird feeder under a tree in front, and there should be some bird seed in a container inside the cottage to feed to our friendly birds. You are also welcome to walk around the lovely gardens of the estate and keep a look out for the wild horses too! There is a swimming pool situated next to reception and tennis courts and table tennis for your use as well. Bring your own rackets and balls please.

The steps and path way to the beach is just in front to the right of the cottage. It is clearly marked and we ask you to respect the privacy of the other cottages, and use this beach access only please. Take some drinks and snacks down to the lagoon late afternoon and enjoy spectacular sunsets over the water! A short walk over the wooden bridge brings you onto a beautiful quiet beach, and you will see the lighthouse at Kleinmond flashing at night. There is a narrow but lovely view of the lagoon and beach from the patio.

PARKING and SECURITY:

Please park next to the wall on the side of the cottage, not in front on the grass. You will be very safe and secure at Meerensee, but please lock the 2 sliding doors and the bolt locks at the top when you sleep, and close all the windows when you are not there. There are two mobile fans for your use. We do not accept any responsibility for items lost or stolen, nor accidents or injuries sustained whilst you are staying at Seas the Sun.

WHEN GOING OUT OR LEAVING THE CHALET:

It’s best to lock the doors and close all windows and leave via the front door. Use the manual latches but not necessarily the key locks at the top of the doors. There is an outside light on the patio with a day/night switch. Find the switch above the wooden couch (use the left hand switch for the patio light). Note that the en suite bathroom light switch is situated in the passage and marked with an orange dot. Middlevlei is a safe and secure estate but we cannot guarantee anything, nor take responsibility for any theft/loss or damages sustained while you are staying there.

ON YOUR DEPARTURE please don’t forget to leave the key/gate tag in the blue key safe on the wall and scramble the digits afterwards.

Thanking you in advance and wishing you an enjoyable stay at Seas the Sun!
