Beautifully converted old barn near Bourg D'Oisans -19 single beds+2 infant cots

Alpine charm & stunning scenery make this modern conversion of an old barn, complete with an american style kitchens and open plan living and dining areas with secure storage for bikes & ski equipment, a great holiday space for families & groups.
Perfect for exploring Chantelouve, La Mure, Bourg D'Oisans, Ecrin National Park, Alp D'Huez & Les Deux Alpes or just relaxing in complete peace. Skiers, snowboarders, hikers, cyclists & mountain bikers will all find lots to do in this wonderful place.

The gite benefits from being two completely independent gites linked by an internal door. This means that there are two sets of reception areas - ideal for large groups and families, where tastes in entertainment and noise levels may vary.
There are two dining areas - seating 10 and 9 - however for large parties we can make one of the areas seat up to 23 so you can all dine together.

The conversion is done with a sympathetic eye to the nature of the building, although all very modern, there are exposed wooden beams and stonework in the walls.

Downstairs there are 2 modern kitchens and dining areas, with washing machines, dishwashers, large ovens, Senseo coffee machines, five burner hobs, microwaves and fridge freezers. Cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and cooking utensils are provided. There is a downstairs WC and also a wetroom type shower with WC. The lounges have TVs and DVD players with DVDs, a log burning stove and access to the private terraces and bbq area.

Upstairs there are 5 airy bedrooms with vaulted ceilings. Four of them have mezzanines and three have en-suites. The mezzanines are not suited to very young children or the elderly as the stairs up to them are a little steep.

Bedroom 1 has five single beds and a travel cot. It has a bathroom en-suite, two of it's beds are up on it's mezzanine.
Bedroom 2 also sleeps five on single beds, has a travel cot and has a shower room en-suite with three of the beds up on the mezzanine.
Bedroom 3 sleeps four and has a shower en-suite - two of it's beds are up on the mezzanine.
Bedroom 4 has three beds (one up on the mezzanine, one raised bed and a lower bed that is a very, very small double - approx 120cmx185cm).
Bedroom 5 has two beds.
Bedrooms 4 and 5 share a family sized Shower room and WC.

The gite is entirely at your disposal.
As well as a private, un-overlooked terrace with seating at the back, there is also a second terrace to the front and a shared and beautiful garden out the front with seating and stunning views that you are welcome to enjoy at any time.
There is a carpark for 3 cars shared with the owners - we live nextdoor and are usually around if you need help with anything.
Secure bike / ski /board equipment storage included.

The hamlet of Chantelouve itself is tranquil and calm, set on the edge of the Ecrin National Park, the scenery is spectacular throughout the year.
There are plenty of walks to be taken just by exiting the front door.

For cyclists there are VTT trails running through the village and surrounding area and Boug D'Oisans, Les Deux Alpes & Alp D'Heuz are between 20 and 45 mins away (by car).

Skiers and snowboarders can also enjoy the mega resorts of Les Deux Alpes (45 mins away) & Alp D'Heuz (25 mins away) in the winter plus our local and reasonably priced ski resort of Col D'Ornon, which is a couple of minuets away by car.

In the summer there are many local lakes offering sailing, fishing, swimming etc, most with restaurants overlooking the water and fab local food.

Getting around - There is no public transport in Chantelouve, to enjoy the area you really need a vehicle.
