Not good enough

Didn’t appreciate being asked to attend timeshare presentation and even after saying no being pursued later. Level of service is poor and barely 4 star certainly not 5 star. Pools were very cold so mostly unusable during the stay. Far too many unsolicited phone calls to the room when we were trying to rest. Resort not really for me so I take that into consideration as it’s focus is more on families and party people.

FRAUD/MISREP ALERT- DO NOT TRUST THIS HOST!

We rented the 2 bedroom unit advertised by this Host on VRBO at the Grand Mayan in San Jose del Cabo. When we arrived at the property to check in we were told by the front desk that our host had not booked us into the 2 bedroom but instead had used a bait and switch scheme and booked us into a studio room which is the smallest room on the property and was unfit for our family. The hotel told us only the host can upgrade. I am not sure if the host tried but regardless she told us there was no upgrade to the room we actually paid for was available. In fact the first response back to us was that the property we rented did not even have two bedroom suites ( an outright lie). Given it was the Christmas/NY week there was no where to go and no assurance from the Host that we would be fully refunded and not have to pay double for our accommodation for the week.The host was not sympathetic at all and offered to refund us a small fraction of our rental payment despite the fact that if she had been honest in her ad and said the truth that it was studio unit we never would have rented from her at all as that room was not fit for us. We have reported her to the VRBO fraud department in the hopes of getting a refund but I leave this review to warn you not to trust or rent from this host unless you want the same problems we encountered.
