About this property
The St. Charles Guest House, lovely historic home, fun for families and groups
"The St. Charles Guest House" is a beautifully renovated and decorated home in the heart of Historic St. Charles, MO. This luxurious rental has 3 bedrooms and an extra sleeping nook that sleeps 9 total. Groups and families will have a great time here with it's lovely full kitchen which is open to the living room and includes a huge stone fireplace between the two, bed nook under the stairs perfect for relaxing or an extra sleeping place, fun and unique game room, and floor plan with plenty of room to spread out. Two upstairs bedrooms feature a queen bed with a twin mattress pullout in one, and a full and twin bed in the other. The super cozy master suite is tucked away on the opposite side of the house from the kitchen/living room area and feels like a retreat in itself. It has a built in king bed, reclaimed barn wood ceiling, it's own heating and cooling system, and fireplace making it perfect for couples getaway as well! There's a great view from master suite of Main Street and all the way down to the river!
Both full bathrooms are uniquely designed with subway tiled, walk-in showers, and the main level shower featuring a shower panel with 2 shower heads and 6 body sprays! The second bathroom is conveniently located off the landing between the two bedrooms.
The game room includes a large shuffleboard table that also has a mini bowling game option, a gaming area with two different classic Nintendo game systems, tons of board games, kids toys, books, and more! A bar height table and stools, and bean bag chairs make it fun and comfortable for all ages to hang out and play!
Walk straight out the door of The St. Charles Guest House and you will see the picture perfect, historic Borromeo log church and directly in front of that the world famous Grandma's Cookies! From there you can explore all up and down Main Street which is all easy walking distance from this central location. The numerous boutique shops and vast array of restaurants and eateries will keep you busy for weeks! The best part, most are unique businesses that you won't find anywhere else, like Braddens restaurant, Lewis and Clark restaurant, Salt and Smoke Barbecue (great outdoor seating with fire pits located right down the street), The Hobbit Hole Antiques, Moss next door for some of the latest fashion, Trailhead Brewery, Sweetie Pies Bakery, and Riverside Sweets, and countless others. A few blocks north, Picasso's offers a great cup of coffee and some live music at times. Grab breakfast at Frontier Perk, and then head to The Bike Stop Cafe and rent a bike for a peaceful ride on The Katy Trail. Ameristar Casino is also located within a mile of the home just outside the Historic area for those looking for a little nightlife. Two major malls, Mid-Rivers Mall, and St. Louis Premium Outlet Mall, are located 10 minutes in either direction. Located on the other side of highway 70, The St. Charles Convention Center and Family Arena are located about five minutes from the guest house. A short 25 minute drive will get you to most St. Louis Attractions such as The Arch, The St. Louis Zoo, The Magic House, The City Museum, The Art Museum, Grants Farm, Busch Stadium, The Fox Theatre, The Peabody, The Art Museum, and so many other fun things to do and see. Spend the day seeing the sights of St. Louis and then head back to family friendly St. Charles, walk to dinner, and kick back and relax and visit with your loved ones at night. The home is located approximately 10-15 minutes from St. Louis Lambert Airport, with plenty of public and private transportation available. St. Peters Catholic church is just a short 1/4 mile stroll away, as well as the Main Street Church on North Main. SSM St. Joseph Health Center is also located within 1/4 mile for those needing a place to stay while visiting loved ones, or if health issues arise. With many fantastic festivities on Main Street and in Frontier Park for year round interest for all ages, there's always something new to experience when you stay at the Main Street Guest House!
