80-Acre View Retreat | Hot Tub & Near Nashville & IU 2BR, 1BA
Painter's Pointe
Painter's Pointe offers one of the most beautiful views in all of Brown County! Artists from near and far have been painting and photographing this landscape for decades. That photogenic 80 acres is open for you to explore.
Painter's Pointe is a newly renovated farmhouse with two bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower only. This country home has so much to offer!
The spacious living room offers a gas log fireplace, 55" flat screen satellite television, and plenty of seating for everyone. There is a reclining loveseat that is also a rocker, a sofa that reclines and a separate rocker/recliner.
Just off the living room is the "Norman Rockwell" like kitchen. You'll swear you've just stepped into a 1950's ice cream parlor. From the kitchen table, you and your guests will enjoy the breathtaking views of the Brown County hills.
Both bedrooms offer queen sized beds with simmons beauty rest mattresses. The master bedroom has a log bed and leads to the back deck and hot tub area, overlooking this priceless view with a 32" flat screen (only hooked to a DVD and several movies provided) . The front bedroom has a 50" flat screen satellite tv and an adjustable (head and foot) bed.
The hot tub has a large fence to ensure maximum privacy, yet still maximizing the incredible scenery.
Painter's Pointe is conveniently located on a shady hillside, on SR 46, between Bloomington and Nashville. You're only 15 minutes away from the Indiana University campus in Bloomington, and 10 minutes from all the shopping and entertainment venues in downtown Nashville. Come see the view everyone has been talking about, at Painter's Pointe!

Nice location. Great place to stay. Only complaint would be the coffee pot . It was extremely slow. Girl needs her coffee. Seriously though. Highly recommend.
The location was gorgeous with very close proximity to brown county, Bloomington, and Columbus Indiana. The staff members were knowledgeable, helpful, and seemed happy to help us. I would recommend this spot to anyone!

The house feels like I stepped into Grandma’s house again. The view was fantastic. Coffee on the porch in the morning was a great start to the day. Would def stay here again.
Beautiful views. The hot tub was relaxing and peaceful. Short drive to both Brown County Park and Nashville. The host was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any inquiries.

We really enjoyed our stay. There were 2 things we didn't enjoy. They said they provide 1 roll of toilet paper and we were left with a quarter roll.it was a good thing we brought our own instead of buying there. The other thing is to put a Dropbox at the house for checkout.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Painters Point.
We are sorry there wasn't a full roll. We will let the cleaner know. Thank you.
The backyard views made this place unforgettable. You are close to 46 but in the backyard looking out on the state park you hardly notice. The location was great for going to Bloomington / IU and Brown County / Nashville. We would definitely stay again. No internet available if that is a deal breaker for anyone. It didn’t bother us, though.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay, with over 100 cabins to choose from we hope you will come back again soon.
We've driven by this house for years... hasn't realized it is now a rental. It's an older house, but has everything needed for a break from the rest of the world. Although the heavy traffic makes sitting outside on the deck not as quiet and peaceful, the view into the back yard and wildlife was nice.
The location is beautiful and the house is adorable. It suits the Nashville antique vibe perfectly. The hot tub and deck with the private view was awesome! I found it so quite and relaxing, away from the busy Bloomington area, but not too far from there either. Super close to all of the Nashville things to do. I will be using this property manager again to stay at some of their other properties, I can't say enough about the property management service. The check in area, is a bit of a ways away, so just be aware if you are doing late check in, it's rural out there, and dark, just plan for that.

Just OK
Pros: view from the property is impeccable, hot tub is nice and private, property had all of the essentials, distance to town and Brown County State Park is fantastic, plenty of parking, communication from Hills O' Brown Vacation Rentals was great. Cons: hit with a musty smell as soon as you walk in, space is cramped with lots of furniture and lighting is low, no internet, price on VRBO is at least 100 more than booking directly with Hills O'Brown, there was some inappropriate decor (racist/mysoginistic), some items could be cleaned better (light fixtures full of bugs), check-in/out has to be done at a separate location.

This property has several issues which need to be addressed. These include:- Mold above shower visible in the drywall - Tiny shower in a large bathroom, lots of room to expand- Plug-in fragrances were used unsuccessfully to mask the smell of mold- NO Internet (not stated in the description, but I will concede the possibility of such is in the small print of the contract for all properties) & crappy satellite TV options- The home was treated for mice early in Oct. and at Halloween you could see the spray on side tables and CD the player. Where else is this poison?Good features:- Responsive host to questions- New thick towels in bath- Comfy bed and living room furniture

We are glad you were able to enjoy your stay. We do not think the over spray was bug spray, they usually only spray outside the home. I would rather assume it was spray from cleaner dusting and we are sorry they missed it when cleaning. We will see what can be done for the bathroom "mol" but there is a basement below this home and it can get musty if dehumidifier gets full.
Thank you for being wonderful guests and we look forward to your booking with us for your next visit.
The view and hot tub were fabulous. The house was perfect for my husband and I. The bed was comfortable with a remote for head and feet up and down or flat, with Dish TV. Living room was cozy with an electric fireplace and also Dish TV. No wifi available but we didn’t mind that. Even though the house sits off the main highway, the noise of vehicles did not matter to us. Very close to the west entrance of the park and to the shops.

We are so glad you enjoyed Painters Point. It has one of the "most painted views" in all of Brown County by all the artists even back in the early 1900's! Which is where it gets its name. We look forward to your booking with us for your next visit.

If you like fresh air step outside
The view was awesome if it was not for that I would have gave it lowest rate. Needs good cleaning in kitchen dirty dishes and mildew smells would recommend owners get dehumidifier for moisture in house it would make all the difference and clean the kitchen the moisture in house cause kitchen cabinet to feel sticky and smell other than that beds were comfortable really needs dehumidifier

We are very sorry you had those issues at this cabin. We will certainly let the owner know the dehumidfier in the basement needs looked after, and since we ask guests to wash and put away their dishes, evendently they didn't check them. The cleaner usually checks them, but evedently not close enough. Hopefully you were able to enjoy the other amenities that cute little cabin has to offer. We look forward to you booking with us for your next visit.
We just checked into this property and were immediately met with an awful stench coming from the stove. When we removed the burners to see what was wrong, we discovered mouse droppings underneath. To make matters worse, there were more droppings inside the closet and even on the table. This is completely unacceptable and poses a serious health risk. The oven was also filthy, clearly not cleaned or maintained. It’s shocking that this property is being rented out in such a disgusting, unsafe condition. For the price guests pay, basic cleanliness and hygiene should be the minimum standard. This experience was unsanitary, unsafe, and extremely disappointing.I would never recommend this property to anyone unless management addresses these issues immediately!
One of the jets in the hot tub didnt work and ladies, shave your legs before you go because its hard in that shower but it was as described and nice. We enjoyed our weekend get away for our anniversary.
