About this property

Araul - a bright, airy house, 5 mins from the beautiful beach with large garden

Araul, the house name, means "sunny spot" in Welsh and you can enjoy the famous Llýn micro climate in the large garden and outdoor spaces or relax in the comfortable interior.

This detached 3 bedroom holiday home is fitted out for couples, families or small groups of friends as a base for exploring the fantastic coastline and countryside on your doorstep, not to mention the stunning Nefyn Golf Course nearby. The house can accommodate a maximum of 6 adults plus 2 children but you will have more space if there are fewer of you. We allow a maximum of two well behaved dogs per stay (small charge applies and no cats). Changeover day at peak times is usually Friday or Saturday but sometimes we can be flexible. Please contact me with your request and I can let you know what is possible.

During mid-May to Aug (tides permitting) guests can make use of a beach hut on Nefyn beach which is fully kitted out with picnic equipment, gas stove and deckchairs etc. It is a lovely place to watch the world go by and makes life easier by not having to carry lots down to the beach. This feature is not guaranteed as we rent the plot and sometimes it is not available due to circumstances outside our control.

We bought the house in 2015 and have invested lots of energy in making it the kind of home we would like to spend our holidays in too. We have tried to make Araul a place where you can relax and make use of all our facilities, including Fibre Broadband, Satellite TV and gas central heating.

Downstairs
There is a large lounge with seating for 8 guests and a TV with Sky and a DVD player and for colder days an electric stove heater makes it really cosy.
The kitchen-diner has a large dining table and seating for 8. There is an electric oven and hob, a dishwasher, fridge/freezer washing machine and microwave, along with the usual kitchen items such as toaster, kettle, blender and sandwich maker. There is also a TV in the kitchen.

There is a washing machine in the kitchen and a tumble dryer in the garage plus a spare fridge/freezer in case you need the extra room.

Bedrooms
One of the 3 bedrooms is downstairs making it suitable for those with mobility issues. This bedroom has a double bed, drawers, built in wardrobes and a TV. It is supplemented by en suite bathroom, comprising a toilet, wash basin and walk-in shower cubicle.

The two other bedrooms are upstairs. One has twin beds and built in wardrobe storage. The other can be flexibly arranged to sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children - the children in bunk beds (shortie) and two others in guest beds that can be pushed together to form a double or separated to form two twins. In this third bedroom there is also plenty of drawer space and a wardrobe.

Pillows, duvets and sheets are provided as well as hand towels and tea towels - all you need is to bring your own bath and beach towels!

Upstairs is also a family bathroom, tastefully decorated in blue and white with a shower over bath.

Outside
There is a large driveway, with safe off road parking for 2-3 cars behind the gates. The large lawned garden at the rear benefits from almost continuous sun on a bright day. There is plenty of seating and a table, allowing you to choose to eat outside if the weather is good or just step out to enjoy some fresh air and a morning coffee. We have added a cute little summerhouse at the bottom of the garden which you are welcome to use.

There is a lockable store which you use for bikes, golf clubs etc.
We have some traditional board games for you to use and maps and books about the local area. There is also some children's toys and beach accessories such as buckets and spades. You are welcome to also make use of our deck chairs and windshield if you want to take a short walk (only 5 mins) down to the beach.

There is a travel cot and high chair available at no extra cost.
Note - this is a non-smoking property.
Check in usually 4pm and check out 10 am but sometimes we can be flexible depending on other bookings.

We had a fabulous summer holiday at Araul in Nefyn and really enjoyed our time in the house, the lovely big garden, the close proximity to the beach and the rest of the Llyn Peninsula. Our younger kids also enjoyed the plethora of toys and games that were available in the house. We would highly recommend!

Very Enjoyable Break

The property is in an ideal location, with the beach, shops and a pub and micro brewery, all within walking distance. The house was a described and very clean. If there is one area for minor improvement, it was that some of the kitchen units are in a need of a little maintenance where doors have dropped hinges, but this did not detract from the stay. We would definitely return in the future.

Fantastic Stay

The house in Nefyn is a great base to discover the Lynn Peninsula in North Wales. Nefyn beach is no more than 300 yards away down the lane at the side of the house and the Lynn Brewery tap is no more than 300 yards in the opposite direction. The house is very clean, well appointed and set out with a large enclosed garden. It has everything you could ask for with some nice touches such as a beach house for your use which has all the beach necessities and games in it, Netflix and Sky TV for the late evening. I would have no hesitation to rebook this property if holidaying in the area again. Many thanks. We had a wonderful week.

The property was really nice. Location in relation to the beach was outstanding. It was a quick 5-7 minute walk down to the beach and the inclusion of the beach hut was amazing. The garden was spacious and there were SO many amenities. Parking space was quite large. The proximity to shops and restaurants was also good. The rooms were clean and beds fairly comfortable. There was plenty of room to store stuff. I did worry a little about having an under counter fridge, but it was plenty of space for what we needed. The separate freezer was also appreciated. Toys and books for the kids there to play with was a nice bonus and connectivity on the smart tv was also great. The WiFi did really well too. The stairs had worried us before our visit with the photos in the listing but they seemed to be completely different stairs when we arrived. The stair lighting was appreciated at night with having our children upstairs and the primary bedroom downstairs. The summer house was cute and the washing line appreciated. Washer and dryer were also most helpful although we only needed the dryer once due to the beautiful weather. The digital guide book sent was really helpful as was the use of the key safe on the house as we went about our daily journeys. We would definitely recommend the property. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Property very well equipped and generally clean but a lot of dusty cobwebs around ceilings and behind furniture. Lovely summer house but couldn’t use it as not cleaned. Looked as if no one had been in for quite a while. Having said that the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and bed linen were properly clean. Lovely large private garden safe for dogs and children, beach hut an added bonus. Over all a great holiday. Front door lock needs attention.

We had a lovely week in Nefyn. The property is very spacious and the garden was a great outside space and well kept. The kitchen was very well equipped and all TV channels were a bonus. The hosts were very responsive to our needs when we were in the property and the beach hut was great for changing and keeping our son in the shade. The beach was sheltered and quiet in July and we managed the steep road up and down easily but it you wanted to there are some parking spaces and some disabled bays which people respected, there is also a turning space where children or older people can be dropped off or collected. In my opinion it is worth it to have a sunken bay protected from wind. The shop at the beach is fantastic, making fresh food to take away and stocking beach equipment and I even had a can of cocktail with lunch one day! People in Nefyn are friendly and it is a great base to explore the area. Abersoch beach and beach bar is a great visit and the teens had a fantastic experience Coasteering with Andy Williams on Anglesey, which itself had beautiful beaches. We also Kayaked with Paradise Adventures at the bottom of Mount Snowdon which was just beautiful. We would definitely return again. The 30 degree temperatures really helped too!

A fabulous bank holiday getaway

Brilliant stay. Great house, with big sunny garden. Location perfect we didn’t use the car once. Had a costal walk (about 50 mins) to the Ty Coch inn. Spent lots of time on Nefyn beach (5 minute walk) where the house has its own beach hut. Few nice pubs/ restaurants in walking distance too. The house was very homely and really did have everything you would need! We had 10/10 trip and can’t wait to come back again.

We have owned a holiday let in Nefyn for over 20 years and purchased Araul in 2015 as a new venture to rent out. We love the Llyn Peninsula and have spent many happy days exploring or just relaxing in the fantastic surroundings. We live in Liverpool and have family in Nefyn so are regular visitors for pleasure and to check that everything is well-maintained at the house.

Why they chose this property

I holidayed on the Llyn as a child and carried on coming as a young adult, making friends in the area. I have been bringing my own children to the area since they were babies and they too have made friends. I love that it is relatively unchanged with a unique charm. On a sunny day I wouldn't be anywhere else in the world!
Araul has a lovely light atmosphere and is laid out in a way which allows you to gather together as a group or have some quiet time. We hope you get chance to enjoy both the house and scenery and appreciate the lovely Llyn as we do.

What makes this property unique

The large garden with lots of seating to allow you to follow the sun plus the cute little summerhouse for you to enjoy!
Use of an "in demand" beach hut when you book during the Summer (subject to availability)
