ABOUT THE RESORT HOME
Freshly renovated and furnished in 2020, this two bedroom and two bathroom bedroom Resort Home is the perfect location for a tranquil family getaway. Whether you will be outdoors playing all day or working from home (Internet 300 Mbps), this is the perfect base. The home is located at The Bluffs, in the exclusive Taluswood neighbourhood, high on the slopes of Whistler Mountain, and boasts stunning views of the Creekside Gondola Base, the Whistler Valley, Nita and Alpha Lakes and the mountain peaks of the Coast Mountain Range. Situated just off the Creekside ski runs, you can ski, ride and mountain bike (depending on the season) to and from the home. After a day on the slopes or biking enjoy our shared HOT TUB - also with views of the valley!

Nestled in the trees on the side of Whistler Mountain, Taluswood is far enough away from the chaos of the Whistler Village, the highway and train tracks of the valley that you can enjoy a truly tranquil mountain experience. This Resort Home offers one of the best locations in The Bluffs complex, as it is located away from the driveways and the parkade door - so you won't hear snowplows or cars coming and going. Creekside is a 5 min drive and the Village is only 7 mins away.

This unit is built, decorated, furnished and equipped to a far higher standard than you will find in most of Whistler's rental properties. The open concept living, dining and kitchen boasts large windows and stunning views. There is a covered west facing deck where you can barbecue dinner, lounge and enjoy evening sunsets. At the end of the day cozy up by the gas fireplace with a pillow and blanket, read a book, play a board game (provided) or watch a movie on the 55" The Frame TV by Samsung (includes Shaw cable, Netflix and Disney Plus). The home has all new high-end furnishings with leather lounge chairs and a luxurious sofa by American Leather that converts into a King size bed. There are cozy heated wool carpet and slate tile floors throughout the unit.

The master bedroom boasts a luxurious pillow-top king size mattress. The ensuite bathroom includes a jetted Jacuzzi tub where you can soak your muscles after a day of skiing, biking or hiking. The second bedroom holds two XL twin beds that can be arranged as a king size bed. The second bedroom also has a TV with cable and a connection for your own game console. The second bathroom offers a large shower.

The Resort Home is equipped with everything you need to have a wonderful Whistler experience. In addition to a thoughtfully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, you will find board games, puzzles, a cooler and pretty much anything else you might need. A special feature is the mud room that includes a heated forced air boot drying rack that will dry six pairs of boots or gloves and a specialty ski rack for your skis or boards.


FREE Parking is provided in an underground garage - a huge asset in the the snowy winter season. Complimentary 120V Electric Vehicle slow charging is available (on 1st come, 1st served basis). Also located in the underground is a locked bike area where you can store your bikes in the summer.

ABOUT THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Creekside is where Whistler all began in 1965! The area was completely rebuilt in mid 1990's and now boasts a shopping area, restaurants the Creekside Gondola. Taluswood Heights was built on the hillside above Creekside around 2000 and hosts a number of high-end townhome complexes and stunning mega homes. It is the perfect location for ski-in and ski-out in the winter and bike-in and bike-out in the summer.


THE BLUFFS COMPLEX
The Bluffs is a small boutique community in Taluswood. It is ideal for families and people who want to enjoy a quiet mountainside experience. For those who want to be in the heart of the village and stumble home from the bars at night, The Bluffs is not the best choice. The entire Bluffs property is smoke-free.


SKI OR BIKE IN AND OUT
We are located about 100m off the Lower Dave Murray Downhill run on Whistler's Creekside. In the winter, as long as there is snow to the valley, it is about a 2-5 min walk or ski to the access trail. We usually ski along the side of the edge of the road for about 50m, but you can also walk. There is a private ski trail that returns back to The Bluffs and adjacent complex (about a 3-5 minute walk when there is no snow on the side of the road). The ski runs on Creekside are rated blue and single black and are suitable for intermediate skiers and above. If you are a novice or low intermediate, you will likely want to drive to Creekside. Note that early and late in the season ski in/out may not be possible. In the summer you can ride your bike right from our complex to and from the trails and the Creekside Gondola. We provide a detailed map and written instructions on how to navigate the ski in/out options.


TRANSPORTATION
It is possible to stay at the Bluffs without a car. The ski-in and ski-out is ideal and you can always take a cab to Creekside or the Village and groceries can be ordered for delivery. That said, having a vehicle does open up options to fully explore the valley. The road is usually well plowed and sanded in the winter but an all-wheel drive vehicle is preferred. It is a 3-5 min drive up the mountain from the highway.

SMOKING/VAPING
For the enjoyment and safety of non-smoking owners and guests, the entire Bluffs property (homes, balconies and grounds) is non-smoking. The only option for smokers is to walk out to the road to smoke/vape. Council levies a $200 fine for any contraventions.

LAST MINUTE CANCELATIONS AND TRIP INTERRUPTIONS
Unfortunately we are unable to provide last minute cancelations, refunds or changes of dates due to unforeseen circumstances. Missed flights, delayed/canceled flights, weather delays, highway closures, injuries/illness or unexpected weather and snow conditions are all real risks you may foreseeably encounter when travelling to a resort town. We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance that will cover last minute cancelations or tip interruptions. You may have this coverage already if you pay for your trip with a travel credit card.

The views really were as amazing as the listing suggests. Perfect layout and space for our family of four. The home was in great condition, clean, and appointed with what you'd need/expect as far as kitchen items. "Ski in/out" wasn't really an option because of limited snow (nothing the owners could do about that) but also our kids aren't able to ski Black runs just yet; especially ungroomed and icy ones. It was easy enough to drive down to the lift each morning. End of day hot tub visit was a must and could easily fit our family and other guests. So glad we found this home for our first post-pandemic return to Whistler Blackcomb!

Amazing View
The unit is just as described/pictured, and the owners have spectacular response time - both before and during our trip. All instructions provided both prior to arrival and in the manual are extremely detailed and easy to follow. The unit was perfect for our family of 5 (2 adults + 3 teens). Everything was spotless and we had ample supplies (towels, TP, etc.) for our 6 night stay. Heed the posting in terms of run access! Three of us are intermediate/expert so were able to ski down to the gondola, but not the two beginners. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Whistler. Wonderful unit and hosts.

Amazing ski villa with gorgeous views! You won't regret it!!
High-end furnished villa. Beds are super comfortable (even the King sized sofa bed!), with top of the line linens and pillows. Kitchen is very well equipped and all dishes, pots etc. are in excellent condition. Neil was extremely responsive and also flexible to an earlier arrival and later departure, due to our flights. We would not hesitate to stay here again, the next time we are in Whistler! Thank you Neil and Heidi!

Great Property!
Our family greatly enjoyed staying at this property during winter break. We loved Whistler, just wish the weather was more cooperative. The property is very clean and has all of the amenities needed. We had great meals at Dusty’s, Barn Nork, Sushi Village, and a special night at Bearfoot Bistro.

My wife Heidi and I, and our two university aged children, love spending time outdoors (skiing, canoeing, hiking, kayaking and surfing) and traveling. Our main base is in Vancouver but we also spend time with our family in Victoria and at our homes on Mayne Island and in Whistler. We have a number of long term rental properties and two furnished VRBO rentals in Victoria, one in Vancouver and this one in Whistler. We are members in good standing with Landlord BC and enjoy taking good care of our tenants and our rental properties.

Why they chose this property

I, Neil, began skiing in Whistler in 1972 and then moved to Whistler as a ski instructor from 1984-1988. Over almost 50 years I have watched our local ski area grow and evolve. We have rented and owned in almost every area of Whistler. We fell in love with this unit because of the incredible view and the true oasis-like setting. You feel like you are truly at a mountain get-away yet all the amenities are only 5-10 minutes away. Ski in and ski out is simply the best. Our family come and go as they please and everybody has a great day. Afternoons are spent in the hot tub followed by a great meal at home or a trip to one of our favourite restaurants.
