The kitchen was fully stocked and the property is in a great location in downtown Cambridge. The hosts were very receptive and great communicators which was so helpful to alleviate my own anxieties. They were very understanding. Thank you.
Host super welcoming and communicative. Had one issue with the shower and owner came over within an hour and took care of it. Nice and quiet building, older but comfy and warm with the cold weather. Stairs are steep both up to and inside the rental just to be aware. Decor and furniture older but again homey versus modern.
Great location… Easy to get to venues and historical locations. Our family was interested in. This VRBO worked well to support our families activities.
This was a great place to stay with a handful of work colleagues, all in town for a professional event. Loved the location, within walking distance to lots of fun restaurants. Place was super clean and easy to access. Thanks!
Very short overnight visit. Property was clean and beds were comfortable. Owner is responsive and really seeks to be helpful. Parking was convenient and area is safe. On the down side, property is older and needs much updating (this coming from someone who's house is 100 years old). Good property for the right group and occasion.
Great convenient quiet location . Air conditioning worked great on warm days. Lots of room for our party of 4 adults, 1 teen.Only clarification: listing shows 2.5 baths, but it’s actually 1.5 baths. 1 full with shower/tub downstairs and toilet/sink upstairs.
Great location in Cambridge, close to transit and walkable restaurants - 10mins uber to Fenway, too. Host was responsive to our questions, and the downstairs neighbor was really friendly. The host might want to look at upgrading the mattresses at some point, but everything was perfectly clean and our intent here is just to provide honest feedback. We would stay here again if we were ever back in Boston.
Location is good and the host is easy to reach and communicate with. Needs a couple of minor improvements:1. AC in the main floor BR & LR.2. Include wash cloths and upgrade towels.3. Add shade on skylight on top floor BR.
Great location and comfy home. The family enjoyed the location and enjoyed a great Christmas on the east coast. Easy to work with owners, and fast communication stream. Home cooked meals were easy to do during these times and the lack of dine in restaurants. Local take out available within walking distance. PArking is a plus for those who have stayed in the downtown area previously and know how hard it is on some small congested streets. Highly recommend while in the Boston area.

Football weekend
The unit is in a great location and we were able to take subway and Uber without any issue’s. The unit is old and has unlevel flooring. We tripped several times the first day. Once we became aware of the spots to avoid we we fine.

This was advertised as having 2.5 baths, which is why my friend and I booked it - each had our own bath. It actually has 1.5 baths. The good: The location was great and the beds were comfortable. The living room is a good size and would comfortably seats at least four adults. There are two beds in every bedroom. The A/C and washer/dryer worked well. The kitchen is small but had the basic needs. The not-so-good: - The yard of the property was weedy and appeared unkept. - The bathroom floor tilted quite noticeably and the bathtub took 20 minutes to drain (I do not like standing in water up to my ankles to take a shower). - The home lacked basic amenities that the other four VRBOs we stayed in had, such as kleenex in the bathrooms, bath mat, kitchen towel and washrag. - The first few days there was no key; no way to lock the front door (the downstairs apartment was in use). We came back one day to find the key hanging next to the door and the door locked. It made us feel like someone had been in the house without telling us.- It appears the wall may have separated from the floor behind the couch. Although we did not see any critters, we were concerned about there might be some. The property was advertised as having 2.5 baths, which is why my friend and I booked it - each had our own bath. It actually has 1.5 baths. When contacted, the owner said it was mistake. Almost 1 month, the posting says the same thing, so I don’t believe it was a mistake.

decent location but EXTREMELY dated
Pros: location, number of beds, the one full bath was clean.
Cons: all furniture except television is like something you would pick up from a curb. Very old. Not a comfortable chair in the house. Beds have thin mattresses; OLD polyester blend sheets and comforters; towels were old and stained; carpet is stained; dishwasher would not open; glasses in the cabinet stuck to the shelf; the lamps and lighting in the bedrooms were extremely dim and old, there was not a window covering on one of the upstairs bedrooms; no bath mat or kitchen hand towels; no local information about restaurants, transportation or things to do
I guess if you are only considering number of beds and location in Cambridge for a low price, you might be happy, but this was truly the worst VRBO place any of us had ever stayed. I hate to be harsh but I wish I had had more information before I booked.

I m so sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay at my home. Usually my reviews are always that the beds are comfortable and the apt. Is very clean. It is professional cleaned each time guests move in. There are lamps in every room. The rugs are are
cleaned professionally once a month. I also provided you personally a list of restaurants and how to navigate the city’s transportation options. Again I am sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay.

Disappointed in Cambridge
While the property was pretty clean, the overall impression left quite a bit to be desired. Tiles missing on the upstairs bathroom floor, massive paint peeling over the shower, missing baseboard and bathroom wall base areas... only provided with (2) bath towels, no hand towels or washcloths for (5) people. Missing detailed entrance instructions - you need to enter the main door after entering the combination, then head upstairs where you unlock the apartment door. We are used to classy VRBO stays where the beds are made with beautiful comforters, extra pillows, extra blankets, drink coasters and alarm clocks, well-built or antique furniture, towel sets for each person, and other special touches... unfortunately, none of that was evident. The outside was grungy, weedy, and completely unkempt. The home itself has a ton of character and potential, just on overall air of neglect..

I am sorry that you were disappointed in my rental. I have photos posted on the site that shows exactly what is in the apt. I never received a call or a text from you asking for any additional items. If you did so I immediately would have provided you with any additional items you might have needed. Also on the web site under instructions there is a lengthy explanation on move in instructions as well as all the necessary information that you might need. The furniture is not antique but modern and comfortable. The outside this time of year in Cambridge is ugly. There are no leaves on the trees no flowers and the yard are not very appealing. But the yard and home is clean and not unkept or neglected by any standards.
The accuracy of this listing was correct. There are some steep stairs going to the 2nd floor. The main living space has enough room to seat 6 comfortably and there is also a large ottoman.
The floors are hardwood, tile and laminate and can be a little slippery at times when wearing socks. The main room and large main level bedroom also have a rug in the center.
The large bedroom which has 2 queen beds is a great space for a family. The beds were fairly comfortable and the bedding was good. There was one extra pillow and one extra blanket. Two of the windows had curtains that blocked the light somewhat and one did not. All three windows had blinds, but they are not light-blocking, so if you need it very dark, this bedroom would not be for you.
The stairs to the third floor are all wood and when traversing them, care is needed. The small bathroom on level 3 was useful for the two upper level bedrooms. The double beds were comfortable. There is a sky light in one of the bedrooms which is not covered, so this room can be very bright in the morning. The laundry is also located on the third floor.
The kitchen is very small, but useful. However, there are no baking sheets--only pots and pans, so adjust your plans accordingly.
The main floor bathroom was quite large and the tub/shower combo worked great. Plenty of hot water and pressure. Lots of good towels
Since were visited in March, we used the heat and it was very responsive, quickly heating the place.
Goed verblijf in een gezellig huis op een zeer goede locatie. Het huis mag misschien een beetje opgefrist worden maar verder was alles aanwezig wat nodig was.
Pros: The location was very good for us. Close to restaurants and grocery stores and Mass Ave. Good for 6 adults. A Blue Bike station is across the street.
Cons: stairs are steep, treacherous for elderly. The back of the house slopes down, broken kitchen tiles, bathroom floors need repair,, bathroom ceiling is peeling a lot. Beds are hard and could use new bedding.
The rental was great. It was clean and in a good location. The host was also quick to respond to any questions we had.

Why they chose this property
This home has a wonderful location. We are within walking distance to restaurants, theaters, shopping, parks and both Harvard and MIT. Close proximity to Boston. Public transportation at the corner of the house. The home is large enough for large groups of families and friends. We have the apt. Cleaned professionally for each move in and out. It is a nicely decorated and comfortable beds. We are not a party house given we are in a quiet safe residential neighborhood. There is also a beautiful park across the street for your enjoyment. Great safe walkable area.
What makes this property unique
No car necessary but we have parking for 2 cars which is rare in any city. Plus our home is spacious allowing more guests to stay.
