About this property
Rustic Lodge near Lake Superior
This charming lodge is the perfect getaway for your group to enjoy time together and get out into nature. A large, sunny gathering room with a central fireplace. A sauna. A large deck overlooking the river valley. A 15 minute hike to our large sandy beach on Lake Superior, and a 30 minute drive to Duluth, MN. This is the perfect blend of easy-enough-to-get-to, and far-enough-away. We host lots of church youth groups, sports teams, scout troops, yoga groups, family reunions, and the occasional small business team. We'd love to have your group too!
Here are a few things you'll want to know before you rent the lodge:
- The sleeping spaces are communal, bunkroom style. There are 12 beds in one bunkroom and 14 in the other.
- Bedding is not provided. You'll want to bring your own sleeping bags, or bedding to fit a twin-sized bed.
- WiFi is NOT available.
- The lodge does not have a full kitchen, just a kitchenette and a charcoal grill. We are sometimes able to provide meal service for an additional fee. Please inquire about availability BEFORE completing a booking. Many groups enjoy preparing their own food using the kitchenette in the lodge, and we are happy to make recommendations about how to do feed your group easily if you'd like.
- The bathrooms in the lodge are public restrooms, and must remain accessible to other guests and staff.

About the host
Hosted by Camp Amnicon

Camp Amnicon Adventures & Retreats is a high-adventure summer camp that offers guided wilderness trips to small groups of middle & high school students. We are ELCA-affiliated, and welcoming to people of all genders, races, and backgrounds. Our mission is to guide people to experience Grace & Growth in the wild places of creation. We hope that you get to experience deep peace while you're here.
At our base-camp, we rent out 6 small/personal retreat cabins and a big four-season lodge, as well several as hike-in campsites and seasonal glamping wall-tents. The cabins are far enough apart from each other and the main public spaces of the camp that you will get a nice amount of privacy. But you should also expect to see other people around the main areas of camp, at the beach, on the walking-paths, and in the public restrooms in the lodge. If you'd like to see a map of the grounds before making a reservation, feel free to send us a message and we'll be more than happy to share it with you.
99% of the year, our site is quiet and serene. There are a few days during the summer when we'll have several groups of campers coming through base-camp for day of orientation before they head out on their guided adventure trips. If you'd like to avoid these high-traffic days, please contact us prior to making your reservation. We're more than happy to share with you how busy we might expect any particular dates to be.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, or need help deciding if our cabins will be a good fit for you!
