I stayed here multiple times over the past few weeks. Everything was as advertised. Easy check-in and check-out. Host Charles was awesome by staying in touch and insuring I had everything I needed. A nice, quiet neighborhood with easy access to downtown Boston. I will be back
Beautiful house and room, very communicative and kind host!
This place was absolutely perfect for a brief stay in Boston with my best friend! The check-in and -out process was very clearly explained and went smoothly, and Charles was available and quick to respond to any questions during our stay. The room was comfortable and had a beautiful big mirror which we loved, and the bathroom was far more modern than you would expect from the historic vibe of the house- it had a beautiful open shower and hygiene products available if you needed them. The common spaces were lovely and it was great to have a big fridge to store leftovers from dinner in, and the outdoor patio space was very welcome after a long day of travel! With multiple locked doors leading to the common spaces and our room, we felt very safe. The walk into town was only about 7 minutes and we found lots of cute places for dinner our first night, and downtown Boston was only an 11 minute uber ride. Charles was very kind and allowed us to keep our luggage in the house past the check-out time so we could have more time to explore Boston during the day before we left for our next location- this was very very appreciated! Overall, this was exactly what we hoped and more and we will definitely be staying again when we are next in Boston!
Excellent updated century + home. Access to common areas was great. Kitchen spectacular, living room excellent, bedroom was nice. Shower facilities had all been updated and very comfortable. Overall a better stay than staying in Boston proper and still easy to get to city centre via transit.
We loved this place but it was more of a hostile than we imagined. It was wondedful coming into a house that offered ramen! There is no AC / only window open!
We drove through a neighborhood of homes built in the 1800’s to reach Perthshire House. It is also an antique house wears its years with a homey grace and beauty. Yet, it has elegant 21st century amenities. It has a full kitchen with top quality appliances. The bathrooms are luxurious with muted lighting and amazing walk-in showers. There is a comfortable living well suited to reading or conversation.
There are two on-premises parking spots that one can rent - well worth the price because the on street parking do fill up sometimes.
The host was terrific. Available to answer questions. Made sure we had what we needed.
The Perthshire House experience felt like stepping out of time for for just a bit calm retreat.
The house was very tastefully decorated and comfortable with the rooms as advertised..our disappointment was the lack of a manager or regular cleaner on site.
No towel racks or clothes hooks in the rooms. Used towels left in the bathroom and the floors not cleaned. Other than these details it was a nice place to stay and I hope these things can be rectified for future visitors.
The Perthshire House is well-located and well-maintained. The kitchen appliances and bathroom facilities are state-of the art. We even had new sheets and pillowcases on our bed. The only suggestion I would make is that hand railings could be added to the several staircases that are found in the Perthshire House. Those additions would, I believe, greatly enhance the safety of negotiating the staircases. Overall, a great place in a great city at a great price.

Lovely rennovated grand house. Remodeled kitchen and bathrooms. Simple comfy bedrooms. Beautiful large garden. o
One can see the elegance being restored and renewed. Kudos to owners and manager. Charles was a wonderful host- very friendly and interesting young man. Thank you for a delightful stay.
Let me start by saying that I love this place. This is my second stay at Perthshire House and I love its charm, its location, and its facilities. There was a bit of construction being finished up while I was there, which made using bathrooms a bit tricky. It would’ve been nice to know about this before arrival, but my stay was pleasant all the same. Fantastic host!
