Bald Knob Cottage is located on our Bald Knob property in Petros Tennessee. It sits alongside our Brushy Mountain Hideaway Cabin and our Windrock Hideout Cabin. Petros Tennessee is smack dab in the middle of off road paradise. Windrock is 73,000 acres and TWRA, WMA trails and Brimstone are not far away with a total of 240,000 acres. Petros is also the home of Historic Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary, featuring guided tours, the distillery and The Warden’s Table restaurant. Don't forget we are on the Devil's Triangle covering 116 ,62 and TN 330 44 mile loop you'll find a little bit of everything; sweepers, tight twisties and three of the tightest/steepest switchbacks we have ever encountered. We are 13 miles from Frozen Head State Park, which features 50 miles of family friendly hiking trails. The Cabins & Cottage sit on Bletchers Creek amongst 2 acres of beautiful scenic land. Bald Knob Cottage accommodates up to 9 people. It has 3 private bedrooms with 5 beds total. There are 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen and laundry room with full sized washer and dryer. The Cottage has a 50" TV with and WIFI for all your streaming. The sectional couch in the living room has a pullout full sized bed. There is an outside charcoal grill and fire pit for your convenience. All linens are supplied, please supply your own charcoal and firewood. There is a lot of level ground and large trailer parking in the back of the property just past the camping area. Bald Knob Cottage is 1/4 mile from Windrock's trails 26 and 27, and trail 43 is 2 miles closer to the prison. We have some of the best food locally in Petros and all of them are legal to drive to on your machines and less than a few miles away. If you need gas, we have a couple of local options also. Let your adventure begin at our Bald Knob location! We can offer some guide service for easy to moderate trails to some of the more popular locations to see, just ask for details. Wheelers paradise

Came to have some fun at Windrock and this place was perfect. You are at the backside of the park so get your passes on the way in. Since most people stay at the park proper we hardly saw another person until around lunch. If you stay at the park campground everyone heads out onto the same few trails all at once. We will be back in a couple of months!

Very clean and well stocked

This cottage is tucked away off the beaten path. Communication with the owners was excellent. We had no problems finding the house. The inside was very clean. The house was well stocked with everyday items needed such as towels, linens, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, trash bags etc. We traveled with 2 pickup trucks, one 30 ft trailer and one 14ft trailer and there was room to park and move around. There is a sign by road but if you are coming in at night it's hard to see the cottage. The creek run behind the cottage and is very soothing to hear. The water pressure is not the greatest in the kitchen or bathroom sinks, the showers were a little better. We never used the washer and dryer but they look new and were nice. We booked this cottage last minute, had no issues, it is good for quick couple days trip for riding trails.

Windrock Trip

We had gone to ride the trails at windrock. We stayed there and took our rides over to the park, which was a 30 minute ride each way. The trail closest to the house was flooded making it where we couldn't get on it until the last day. let's just say it is not a GREEN tail!!! Haha On our way out we discovered another way to get on the trails from where we were staying. We had friends staying at windrock so for us, the drive was no big deal. With the water being up, it ran ants inside the house, which wasn't good when they ended up in the beds. The water pressure in the home wasn't the greatest, but we managed. Parking is tight, we were able to leave our trailers and side by sides at windrock, which made it okay for us. Overall, the home was nice and we would stay again, especially since we found a way into the trails from that side of the mountain! I communicated with Scott and he responded very quickly. Looking forward to our next trip!

Christmas getaway

Stayed at the cottage for six nights over Christmas, this was our first time to Windrock park. The cottage was extremely clean and organized. There was plenty of information posted in the kitchen to help out around town. It was nice to be able to back after a day of riding and able to have a full kitchen and grill outback on the porch. Restaurants are about 20min away, which made for a nice drive. Scott was extremely hospitable when talking to him on the phone. I will definitely add this to my favorites list and hope to spend time there again. Thank you Scott and you family

Great Location

We enjoyed our stay at Bald Knob Cottage. It is a great location for riding directly to trails without trailering. You can also ride in town to get gas, food, and supplies. Also, you can ride to Brushy Mountain Penitentiary (which you MUST go and see!).

Great place

We rented this to ride at Windrock. This place is right at trails 26&27. And right near the prison. Legal to ride your toys on the streets. Only 30 minutes from the park. The house is very clean and has parking for you trailers. We will be definitely staying there again.
