Jeff Studio 302: Each room is individually furnished, with a distinct personality. Think effortless cool, creamy suede, and desert colors with pops of quirky humor. To ensure privacy and true getaway vibes, The Jeff was designed to be entirely self-service (no front desk or need for check-in). Upon booking, you will receive a unique code that gives you access to your room.
The Jeff Hotel Studios feature a luxurious, custom-made king bed - perfect to settle down in after a hard day's rockin' with a flat screen TV. A Marshall amp speaker is provided to kick back and enjoy your favorite tunes. Each room is equipped with Nespresso coffee maker with pods, an electric kettle for tea that is also provided plus mini-fridge. Our spacious en-suite bathrooms boast high ceilings and walk-in showers.
Purchase of each room comes with one, single-use parking voucher for the nearest parking garage – about a 3-minute walk from the entrance. Being on a pedestrian mall the hotel has no on-site parking, but we think that having Cville's most popular bars, restaurants and music venues mere steps away is a great trade-off!

*Note – The Jeff Hotel is located in a historic building above the nationally renowned Jefferson Theater so it has no elevator. Each room is only accessible via stairs, in some cases multiple flights.
Due to the active nature of the theater below, there will be times where there may be crowds outside of the main entrance waiting for an event or during an event.

Reservation was not found thus no infobre access was received prior to arrival. Leftovers from prior guest in fridge. No service on room...bed not made, towels & coffee pods not replenished. No Response from mgmt re these complaints.

UVA Parents Weekend

Unique and beautiful. Was pricey but expected given the location and the fact it was UVA Parents weekend. We didn't find the parking passes in the room initially and the management was quick to call us back and solve the issue (we later DID find the parking passes in the room, just not where we expected them!) The room was very nice. The only complaint was that there was no counter space in the bathroom so you had to put all of your toiletries on the floor and the style of the bathroom door (barn door on wheels) was nice to look at but didn't stay closed so we had to wedge a bath towel in the gap for privacy to keep the door closed.

A very beautiful, clean place to stay.

Very convenient place to stay in downtown Charlottesville. Many restaurants with outdoor seating. A quiet place to stay, easy checkin and very clean with beautiful decor.

Created in 1976, Guesthouses Reservation Services in Charlottesville, Virginia emerged at a pivotal time in the hospitality industry where travellers wanted a more personalized and comfortable stay wherever they travelled. The bed & breakfast was a largely European phenomenon before today's time and Guesthouses sought to bring this type of travel to the United States. With the announcement of the Queen Elizabeth of England's trip to Charlottesville, Guesthouses Reservation Services was born to accommodate all the tourists funnelling into the city to set eyes on the Queen. It was a roaring success in Charlottesville and gave visitors a peak into how the locals lived and gave homeowners a chance to showcase their homes and provide exceptional experiences. Newspaper and magazines all over the country (USA Today, Travel & Leisure, Virginia Pilot), all saw the benefits of this new phenomenon of Bed and Breakfast accomodations.

Guesthouses was started by four women who saw this need for change in the hospitality business long before the times of AirBnB! Guesthouses was the first of its type in the country. The motto of "Guesthouses is YOU and works for you" still stands today over its forty years of ownership. Guesthouses historical, and current, aim is provide guests with a true authentic Charlottesville experience and accommodation that differentiates itself from the traditional hotel.

In July of 2019, Drew Thomasson, a Charlottesville native, became the 5th owner to continue the long legacy of Guesthouses. Drew, son of two UVA Alumni, grew up on Rugby Road immersed in the UVA and Charlottesville culture. Even though he decided to venture to Tennessee for college, he has always been a Wahoo at heart. He has called Charlottesville home ever since from returning from college. Being that Drew had experience in the vacation rental industry and property management (locally and internationally), he saw a great opportunity to take the legacy of what Guesthouses had already established and apply that towards the current market trends of today.
