We (four adults and one child) spent a wonderful week at Bob's bach. It is an absolutely charming "real kiwi bach" right on the waterfront. It was decorated beautifully with a nautical theme which perfectly suited the location. The bach was very clean and comfortable. At high tide my brother (who is wheelchair bound) was able to visit by boat (he has a bach at South Cove) and tie up right outside the bach - we set up drinks and nibbles on the little jetty out the front and were able to socialise without him even needing to get out of the boat (which would not have been possible). A boaties' paradise indeed. The walking tracks on Kawau are lovely and we explored every day. There is an amazing huge tree swing at Dispute Cove which we all had fun on when we walked across to visit the ruins of the old copper mine. Another night we ventured out with our torches covered with red cellophane to try and spot a kiwi on the nearby kiwi track. Although we heard two (or maybe the same one twice) we didn't manage to spot one. But we did see hundreds of glow-worms as we tiptoed silently along the track - magic! Highly recommended.

great spot
Awesome calm bay, lovely spot, definitely recommend for those that want to get away from it all
This is an amazing place, right on the water, always some boat movement on the water to watch.
Great swimming at the door step .
We hope to be able to come again
Just what we needed after so much time locked down. A beautiful location, surround by a friendly community. A great little bach with everything you need and direct access to the water. Sheltered bay, a beautiful view and easy to access. Thank you.
Quaint rustic property. We ended up not taking our boat and the ability to get away and look around without a boat was difficult - but our choice all the same. It does advertise that you need to take everything you need and this is true, including shampoos hair dryers etc - the place could benefit from supplying the smaller consumables for ease. It was a charming location for a couple of nights and the owners communications were excellent. It certainly had that "bach feel"
We had an amazing time with friends and our little boys at this property for the weekend. It is situated in the perfect position to make full use of the beautiful bay.
We enjoyed paddle boarding, swimming, finding crabs and building sand castles. Oh and lots of fishing off the wharf.
The neighbours were all lovely and friendly.
It is due a deep clean but that's an easy fix.
We loved it here such a special place. We took our run-about from Sandpit with all the gear and stayed 4 nights. Our family came over on the water taxi for a night, we walked to Mansion House bay, swam right in front of bach and took the boat out on fishing trips and explored other bays. We didn't want to leave, so much to see and do but fantastic spot to just relax too.
We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the activity on the harbour and kids swimming and paddle boarding at high tide. A beautiful setting. Would recommend.
An extraordinary holiday enjoyed by teens and adults. Boating, walking, fishing, watching the boats go by, paddle boarding, reading in a location almost too good to be true.
Could hardly be closer to the wharf but still felt like a world away from everywhere. A real Kiwi-style bach but all that is needed to just take some time out.
Fabulous property. Great location to explore the Island, beautiful bach and bay views. Swim or kayak off your door step. Exceptional property if you have a boat too.
Great property and friendly owners. Rated low on cleanliness due to having to clean down surfaces, crockery etc which could have been due to not being occupied recently. Otherwise fabulous spot.

Bach was wonderful and having mod cons and a big kitchen and bathroom made for a very relaxing stay.
Bach was wonderful and having mod cons and a big kitchen and bathroom made for a very relaxing stay. We made good use of the all-tide wharf right on our doorstep and it was so easy being able to tie up our boat anytime of the day. Kawau Island is beautiful and perfect for a family holiday with nice swimming beaches, fishing and walking tracks.
