This is a very comfortable, homely and spacious holiday home - with a great layout. The heat pump and Wood burner fire provides for a wonderful warm retreat after a day on the slopes, and the wetback means plently of hot water for everone. There is plenty of firewood to keep the whole house warm and cozy. Fantastic mountain views while you dine (inside or out), do your washing and go to the loo! No need to obtain a snow report - just look out the window.
The kitchen is fully equipped with slow cooker, toasted sandwhich maker, coffee plunger etc. There is also a drying room to dy off all the wet clothes and gear.
In the summer this house is a suntrap and positioned for all day sun (so keeps warm in the winter too). National Park is also a great place to chill out, relax and unwind for a few nights away. The local cafes and resturants are great too! Awesome family friendly pub only a few minutes walk around the corner.

There are are so many great activites to partake in - some of which include: hiking (Tongariro Crossing Great Walk and lots more), Mountain bike trails, 4 wheel drive trails (42nd Traverse), skiing, snowboarding, scenery and bird watching - Blue Ducks, Kokakos and Kiwis in the forests, rivers for kayaking (for the Whanganui River Great Walk and plenty of canoe hire available), swimming and fishing........
Special conditions: Tarrif applies for up to 3 guests then extras at $20 pp per night and $70 for cleaning.
A bond may be required for 'event' weekends.
Linen is included which includes tea towels, blankets, pillows, duvets and one towel per guest.
While can sleep 10 - it is more comfortable with 8 or less persons staying.
Please note we have a security camera in the boot room/entrance monitoring the front door - there are no other cameras within the propery.

We had an amazing stay, family of 4 with a baby and a 3yo. Nice and close to whakapapa ski field. The fireplace was amazing and made us all feel super cosy. Spa pool was great too! My daughter enjoyed reading the children’s books. We bought food from ohakune as were unsure if there was a supermarket but the 4 square by the petrol station is huge and has everything you need.
Really cool spot loved the layout and the comfy beds, suited our group down to the ground. The Owners communicated positively throughout thanks for sharing it with us 😀
We really like staying in this batch. Its location is great and we felt welcome and comfortable. Loved the spa pool after doing the Tongariro Crossing.

We stayed in summer so enjoyed the deck and spa and bad weather rolled in and loved the fire.

Great location. Spa is a bonus adter a hard day skiing. Quick communication. Would visit again. Fire was built when we arrived making it very easy to light.
Simple straightforward access and communication with owner. Great location and a nice homely feeling holiday house with everything you need for a stay in National Park, with a spa and Sky TV as welcome bonuses on wet days. Will definitely book again.
Property in a good location with walking distance to everything in the town. Very warm and comfortable for six of us. Fireplace and games were fantastic for the cold evenings and kitchen had everything so easy to cook for ourselves. I would definitely use again.
The house is perfect for extended family looking for a place to stay near the snow mountain. It is well-equipped with basic needs for cooking, washing and entertainment. It has a Very comfortable space and heating during winter, our small kids love running around as well sleeping in the rooms. The owner is very responsive to inquiries and requests. The only thing we miss out using is the pool spa due to a bad weather. Located closely to gas station, four square and restaurants as well as childrens playground. Good spot for pick up if using shuttle services We will definitely come back or recommend to our friends.
It is a nice house with a good starting point for Tongariro National Park. Check-in was easy using a key box.
The kitchen is very well equipped.
At the end of your stay you have to take your rubbish with you or you can leave it with the landlord for a fee.
Had a little trouble/minor delay gaining access, internet? The place was clean and private spa great after a walk in the rain. Location is within an hour of many worthwhile attractions but not near groceries or much shopping.
We stayed here for a couple of nights to explore Tongariro National Park and it was perfect for that. Easy to get to Whakapapa and to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Soaking in the spa after a long day of hiking was amazing. The bach is big and cozy and had everything we needed during our stay. There were just 4 of us and plenty of room, so I think it would be quite comfortable for bigger groups as well. Lots of windows letting in the sunshine and a very cozy living room. I definitely recommend staying here!
Loved this place. We arrived late at night but the security lights made it easy to get in. The wet/mud room at the front door was good for getting out of wet gear after a day out. It was nice and warm despite it being cold out. Easy walk to the 2 restaurants and to the convenience store another block away. The spa pool was a welcome way to finish the day. Imogen the host communicated clearly and well.
Perfect location just a little small for our group
Great, good value house with plenty of amenities. Would have been good to have a smart tv to login to our Netflix etc. accounts and a little more space in the lounge. Our party was nine adults which was pushing the limits a little. A standalone dryer would also have been useful.
Perfect spot to do the alpine crossing. The hot tub was a god send after slogging through the volcanic area.
Had everything we needed. Tidy and clean. Will come again.
