We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. The furniture and beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Its location was ideal, with the lake being just 50 yards away from the back door. It is also situated within driving distance from both the Adirondacks and Green Mountains, both of which we took advantage of on side trips during peak foliage season. It was also perfect for our vizsla, who enjoyed long walks in the neighborhood. We will certainly be returning in the future.

Just what we needed

Clean and accommodating. Not far from SUNY Plattsburgh. The fog on the crystal lake was a nice reminder to slow down and enjoy a cup of coffee each morning.

Beautiful sunrise and excellent for boating. Very spacious living area.

Very beautiful stay. We were unable visit our cabin in Canada and this was just as beautiful! Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Chazy Vacay

This property worked well for us as we have family in the area. We all enjoyed the lake and use of kayaks and paddle boat. We also used the gas grill for a cookout and the bar seating worked perfectly for our meals.

Lake side break

Located in a quite lakeside residential neighborhood. Great room ( living room, kitchen, dining room perfect for gathering as a family. Covered patio facing lake, perfect for breakfast time. Waterfront/ outdoor area ideal for kayaking and SUP. Bathrooms are spacious, modern and clean. Primary bedroom bed is comfortable.

Lovely house on Lake Champlain

We had so much fun. This house has all the amenities for a perfect vacation. Our family included all ages from 16 months old to 65 years young. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We will definitely come back. Thank you so much.

Lake Champlain retreat

Overall a nice place on the water. Beautiful view ! House is bright and open. Somewhat outdated and could use an update to furniture and appliances. Dishwasher wasn’t attached to the counter and just pulled away when I opened the door. Microwave over the range was non-functional. Needed extra blankets as the included nlankets were paper thin.

End of summer getaway

The host John was accessible. Property beautifully situated on lakefront. Neighbors are very gracious and kind. Debby was kind and helpful. Let us use her kayaks and paddle boat. John and Linda were saviors. Saved us from a kayak disaster. Quiet place for a relaxing stay. Thank you host John and neighbors.

Great Lake Champlain Getaway Locale, Accessible to Numerous Cities and Attractions !!

The house is immaculate, the kitchen/living room/dining area is massive, and the very large jetted tub is a very nice “cherry on top” ! The owners are very friendly, easily reachable and anxious to please their guests. The house is just minutes from the lovely Point au Roche State Park Beach and various good and public fishing spots, both from the shore and by boat. Also only about an hour, and thus an easy day trip, from Montreal, Burlington and Lake Placid, as well as such great attractions as The Wild Center, the Museum at Blue Mountain Lake, and Ausable Chasm. A home run of a week on The Lake, we will surely be back to this great property

Girl’s Weekend

This was the perfect location for us to get away! We have never been in the region so waking up at 5am to get on the water with the sunrise, having a base camp for exploring the community during the day then coming back to cook dinner and play board games was just what was the game plan. The house was large enough for the four of us to spread out yet come together in the great room/kitchen. Having amenities available helped us with cooking dinners and baking a birthday cake! I would suggest more chairs for the living room to gather around the coffee table for games. Deb, the neighbor, is so welcoming and helpful! She offered to answer any questions as she grew up in Chazy and even offered to let us borrow a kayak and come over for a fire! My favorite was watching her exercise Molly on the lake! John was very responsive when I had to reach out about the door code and fan switch in the bunk room (behind the door & bunk post). We did have a communication issue after the trip, but nothing that hampered the experience. I would not hesitate renting this house again! Thank you again John, you have a great lakeside home!

Nice place, but no dock!

The cottage itself is a wonderful space with great views and a nice spot to kayak. We were very disappointed, however, to show up with our boat to find that there was no dock in the water. Our communication with the owner prior to arrival indicated we would be bringing our boat. He gave a list of places to launch so we could get it to the house. Prior reviews indicated that there was no dock but he responded indicating that a floating dock was now installed. When we arrived no dock was in the water. We contacted him immediately and he indicated that they "share the dock with the neighbor who isn't coming due to medical concerns". I notified him that the dock was sitting in the yard and he never responded. If you have a large group and don't need/want a dock this is a great place. Beware if you plan on boating. The water is also very shallow and muddy for close to 100ft out into the lake, so not great for swimming, either.

This house is in a quiet walkable neighborhood. Very clean inside and out. Easy 1 hour drive to Montréal for nice day trip. Ferry to Vermont also nearby. State Beach 10 minutes away although water was warm very shallow. House had water access but best to wear water shoes as the shoreline seems to have receded a bit. Great vacation.My dog had a great time also.

Quiet beauty

This property was in an excellent location for side visits to Montreal and Burlington. Plans to go to Lake Placid were put on hold due to fact the bobsled run was not open. However, it was close enough for a day trip. The house itself was clean and adequately furnished. The kitchen had the needed utensils to make a meal. A supermarket was a short easy drive away. The water access from the house was there but because of the low level of the water one would need water shoes to navigate the shore. We did go to the Plattsburgh City Beach only 10 minutes away. Beautiful beach with a bar, bathrooms, snacks. Unfortunately the water was only knee deep. The water temperature was nice and warm so you could sit in it. Perfect for those with young children. One could see beautiful sunrises from the covered front porch and we did so the 4 days of our stay.My dog loved sitting on the porch and watching the waterfowl. The house is very dog friendly no rugs!We had a problem navigating TV remote but it was quickly resolved with a phone call to John. E-mail questions were quickly responded to by John. All in all a successful visit to the north country and Canada!

The location is tranquil and lovely. The house is a bit run down. The spa tub appeared to not be working and we were hesitant to try. The trash was not emptied on time and we were beset with house flies. None of the kitchen knives would cut!

Overall, a very nice stay and an excellent value. Lots of great unpowered watercraft available for use, great wildlife for casual observation, clean & spacious property. The only two things I would say you need to be aware of is that there is no air conditioning so if the weather is very hot, it can be quite uncomfortable inside. Other than that, the lake isn't swimable from the bay. But that issue is easily solved by driving to some great public beaches in Plattsburgh.

Very Nice

House was very nice and spacious, the water has a lot of iron in it which causes the brown color. The neighbor is very nice but was not thrilled that her dog was roaming through the property and doing his business wherever he wanted! The lake is nice once you go out a little. Would recommend bringing fans since there is no AC. Overall a very nice family vacation and would rent this place again.

The house is in a wonderful location which was only a mile from the wedding we were attending . Be aware (as I was) that there is no ac and the ceiling fan in the small bedroom was not working so it was unbearably hot so we slept on the couch in the living room . You cannot swim in the lake as there are sharp mussel shells and rocks . Kitchen is minimally stocked . The house was very clean with nice new bathrooms and the two bedrooms with queen beds were comfortable . We had an easy time communicating with the manager and our requests for more supplies was responded to quickly .

Great location and yard, not so great in certain areas.

Yard was great and house was open and good for having space. Water tasted terrible and was brown brown. Washer looked old and stained and it stained all of our white clothes rust color. Has an ant problem which may be temporary or part of the trash issue. Trash was 3/4 full and very smelly, probably due to last renters not getting the trash out on the right day but is crossed out in the stay list book. Refrigerator is small. Place is a bit outdated and pictures are a bit deceptive. Neighbor is very nice and helpful! Water area is not good for swimming due to rocky shore and a lot of mucky algae but is nice to look at. Overall not a terrible experience but the water issue needs to be addressed as well as some appliances. Felt it was over priced due to the things I mentioned.
