About this property

Kea Castle, Stunning mountain views.

This new double glazed home is built to take in the spectacular mountain views. Located right in the village it is easy access to the shop, ski field and lake. it is only a 10 minute walk down the beautiful Black Valley Stream to the lake edge. This home is furnished with a mixture of new and old, so if you need matching cutlery this is not the place for you. This is a wifi free house but we have a great selection of games and books to pass your time in the evenings or on a rainy day. There is cell phone reception. There is a second toilet in the house.

Extras: Cleaning (Optional, NZ$140.00 per stay); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);

Amazing spacious home

We spent 6 nights at Kea Castle which became the meeting place for our Xmas family reunion. It is so very spacious, spectacular mountain views with everything you need for catering and entertaining kids. Just amazing!family reunion (20 years since together)

Exceeded expectations

We were so impressed with the size and cleanliness of the house not to mention the most stunning of views. The kitchen was well equipped along with a large dining table and plenty of seating options for 10 or more people. The beds were also very comfy.

Very roomy, good spaces, v.g kitchen, fabulous views. Host was helpful when I called for some clarification. Plenty of parking for 3 cars and a boat. Thoroughly recommend.

Great place, pity about the unnecessary greed!

Absolutely fabulous. Perfect for our stay. BUT Why did you need to take 40% down payment SIX months out and then 100% THREE months out when you have absolutely no costs associated with having us stay? Yet you took our money SO FAR ahead of the booking date. Because you could?? In these tough times when everyone is finding life tough, this looks pretty greedy really!

Lovely Stay

A group of friends spent a long weekend at the Kea Castle. We had a lovely time!! The place is perfect for a big group of people with plenty of beds and lots of space to hang out. Easy to walk down to the lake too

A beautiful house

We really loved the house. Was perfect for a long weekend away with friends. The only major downside is that we couldn’t get the oven working. It was turned on at the wall and the function working (light on) but it wouldn’t heat. After ringing the contact number and not being able to get guidance, we spent a long time googling, trying to find the right oven model, and trying different fixes. It was quite frustrating particularly given we had brought dinners that really did need an oven (roast and casserole). Would really recommend that a manual for the oven to get the temperature working is provided because it definitely wasn’t as simple as turning the knobs once it was switched on at the wall. Either that or for people to know to bring food that can be cooked on stovetop/bbq. It was just a stress that would have been good to do without. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay.
