We loved everything about this experience. We were able to fully relax and would have been happier to stay longer. Would fully recommend this as a great place to stay.
The yurt was amazing, it was a peaceful and chilled out environment and a well equipped property. Great location, nice to relax and forget the rest of the world.
Nice location, beautiful place and all the amenities were present
“We really enjoyed our stay! The place was extremely clean and thoughtfully designed. Kate was quick to respond, and we had no trouble finding the location. We’ll definitely book this again for our winter trip!”
We enjoyed revisiting the Yurt experience! The location is so peaceful, and the property has everything you would need for glamping. Communication with the owners was great and they checked in to see if we had settled in.
Fabulous 5 night stay, great central location for exploring and for the start of the Otago Rail Trail. Well equipped and furnished accommodation. Would highly recommend.
A convenient location for us to explore the rail trail and other cycling/tramping opportunities in the region. Well set up , warm and cosy with outstanding roomy countryside location
Didn’t end up staying after a last minute change of plans but Kate was great to deal with throughout. Really helpful and accommodating.

Garry and I (Kate) purchased this property as we fell in love with the peacefulness we felt there. We both love the outdoors and wanted to share this with others. Garry is a worker so to make sure he combined work with play this property ticked all the you will see! I just like to pitch in so we get enjoyment from watching this property evolve as we come up with new ideas for it. I have 2 horses I take over there frequently to enjoy the riding closeby and our Golden Labrador "Storm" just loves trying to catch all those rabbits!
Why they chose this property
Need a peaceful, no fuss get away from it all weekend, that is what we love, leaving all our worries behind.
What makes this property unique
What more could you ask for, a Mongolian Yurt nestled in Central Otago!! For that special couples weekend retreat. Enjoy the beautiful rural views this acre property has to offer from atop of the hill, down the Manuherikia valley and river towards Chatto Creek to the ruggard landscape where you see the lower Manorburn dam and across to Old Mans range. Then only a 6 minute drive to Alexandra for those glamping supplies or just a wander around the shops. Whether you want to bike part of the Iconic Rail trail, visit many of the beautiful surrounds of Central Otago or just kick back and relax this property is the base you will love to do this from. Cycling, wineries, restuarants, watersports, walking and many other fun activities just a stones throw away.
Not to mention an hours drive to get the big city lights fix in Queenstown and those adventure tourism activities.
For horse lovers if you are wanting to see this area or passing through and need a pit stop for a couple of nights then we are happy to accomodate you and your beloved steeds. Please discuss this with us first as there could be small additional costs that apply.
