Wee_Widja Glenorchy nz

This wee gem is an experience to say the least.
You have to be capable of some "back to basics" living. By this you have to boil water to do the dishes and there is no washing machine but there is a Laundromat in town if you don't wish to do your washing by hand but be rest assured you will be cosy.
If you suffer from vertigo this is not the nest for you to stay in as everything is on wheels which creates movement.
"Wee Widja" is a mix of solar, power and no power so I suggest you bring a torch for when you hop from A to B but never fear for I am near should you need help in any way.

Glenorchy township is a brisk 5 minute walk so you are close to all it has to offer.
Please ask questions before you book and note that we are about 50kms away from Queenstown at the head of the lake.

Cozy space

This was the first time I spent in a small space. It was surprisingly comfortable. I have seen TV shows of people living in small spaces. Now I can appreciate it after staying at CY’s. CY provided us with great tips for our holiday.

A great fun place to stay

Wee-widja is a home all on its own! Where a warm and friendly welcome awaits. The 1950s Morris Commercial truck is not what you may be expecting, but inside it is very clean comfortable and the kitchen, in the adjoing caravan, is exceedingly well equipped. The gardens are beautiful and full of herbs,flowers and birds. Cy is the most welcoming, warm, generous host, with an eye for repurposing of interesting and quirky artefacts. And is full of great stories about life in Glenorchy.

Cosy and convenient

We spent 2 nights in Cy's caravans, one for sleeping, the other the kitchen and lounge. The bathroom was another cabin 20 metres away with a splendid shower and we had that to ourselves The toilet was a long drop which we did not expect. Would have preferred a loo in the bathroom So it felt like we were glamping at the Mavora Lakes. Cy is so hospitable and clever with fittings. All appliances are top class, the stove top, fridge and bench oven working well in the kitchen. She provides everything from jam and cooking oil to umbrella and torches. Very thoughtful We even came away with a gift of eggs Probably suit younger people who don't mind steps and don't have to get up during the night Very comfy bed!!

Wonderful Widje and Cy

Spotlessly clean and everything you need and didnt think you might need is there. Cy has given great attention to detail and goes the extra mile to make your stay so good. Cy born and bred in the area has a wealth of knowledge, she is so down to earth, a true kiwi experience.

Relaxing Glenorchy escape

Simple, colouful and cozy with everything we needed for a relaxing 24 hours before heading off tramping. The bed was so very comfortable, shower lovely and hot and the kitchen perfect for our needs. An unusual and exuberant holiday rental

Lovely garden, beautiful red trees, you have access to 3 different spaces, a’kind of lounge area where you can cook, a different caravan truck where you sleep, a separate shower area, all very nicely decorated in true vintage style & then there’s the hostess CY, funny & helpful.

A host who really thinks outside the box(truck)!

We had a lovely stay at Cy's place and appreciated excellent communication with Cy prior to and upon arrival. Cy has carefully curated an experience like few others you'll find on VRBO, with many thoughtful and eclectic touches all around the property. You'll appreciate the clean, modern sink and shower in addition to a fully stocked kitchen equipped with more pots and pans and china and cutlery than you'll need, always a pleasant surprise. Mind your head in the RV if you're over 1.8 meters, although you'll enjoy better headroom in the boxtruck. We loved relaxing around the table on the lawn, under the shade of a tall tree that also keeps the sleeping quarters cool, the lavender abuzz with pollinators on a warm summer day, while admiring the towering mountains around us. Thanks Cy!

Happiness and paradise in Glenorchy

Wee Widja is absolutely perfect - a beautiful, creative, cosy. peaceful and happy place to stay in Glenorchy! You are surrounded by a wonderful garden and mountain views - a great location for all things in the area too! Wee Widja has everything you need! Cy is a fantastic host - very helpful, generous, great stories and so much knowledge of the local area! The best place to spend NY - we will be back! PERFECT! thank you so much!

Dejligt ophold i supercharmerende omgivelser. Boligen er indrettet i en gammel campingvogn og lastbil. Boligen er meget velindrettet med alle fornødne hjælpemidler. Man skal dog være indstillet på at toiletforholdene er lidt primitive.

Absolutely gorgeous and enchanting

You have to stay here. It is the cutest little get away ever. No it’s not a fancy motel room but it has the same luxury with character. Once you’ve done it once you’ll be hooked and want to keep coming back. CY the host is amazing and so welcoming. And as for Glenorchy you’ll soon see why they call it paradise Love love love this place

The accommodation consists of a bedroom in a house truck , a caravan for meals / living and bathrooms all set in a large garden. Although sharing the garden with 2 other residences each part was private and felt secure. The bed was extremely comfortable and the accommodation spotless with a delightful quirkiness. The setting and Cy’s hospitality made for a great visit and we would stay here again
