Property was pretty great, really well designed and nice. The property manager was slow to communicate and we were not able to access the wifi however.
Overall, a disappointing stay. What was clearly once a beautiful and well maintained property has been let go in a lot of waysThe entire upper deck area was infested with wasps and completely unusable during the day time for our entire stayThe driveway down to the water is washed out and overgrownMuch of the outside of the property is either dirty, over grown, or in some disrepairThere was no working wifi on the property and little to now cell serviceInside, there was a broken cabinet and the amenities were sub par. There were beds missing top sheet or pillow cases. On arrival, all the towels were in the dryer and there was no bath mat or hand towels in the bathroomThere were some good take aways too. The house was fairly clean on arrival and the kitchen was well stocked and even had extras like food wrap and some food staples. The dishwasher worked well. Bbq had propane and worked well. The grass was cut and the outside space was usable (as long as away from house/ wasps)The communication with the host leading up to the stay was also poor. Not always timely in response and not much info. Very little info for check in instructions and not given any checkout instructionsIf you are a family looking to get away for vacation or someone who may need to work while at the cottage I would not recommend this property. If your a group of friends who does not need all the comforts that usually come with rental properties, then this may be okay. You decide, is the price worth it?
Absolutely Stunning Location, But Completely Unlivable – Do Not Book Until Major Issues Are Resolved
This rental had the potential to be a dream getaway. Unfortunately, the condition of the home and the lack of responsiveness from the owner made our experience deeply disappointing.Garbage was piled in the garage — roughly ten full bags left to rot. The stench permeated the back half of the house. We were told someone would collect it on Saturday; no one came. The outdoor space — arguably the entire reason to rent this home — was unusable due to a major paper wasp infestation. I counted at least eight active hives under the deck. We couldn’t spend a single moment enjoying the view or the porch.Cleanliness was unacceptable. None of the showers appeared to have been wiped down. They were visibly grimy. Mouldy buns were left in the kitchen, and we found a half-eaten, mould-covered hotdog bun behind the loft couch — clearly there for weeks.Towels had been left damp in the dryer, smelling of mildew. We had to do laundry as soon as we arrived just to have fresh linens. The dishwasher didn’t work, and the previous guests’ dirty dishes were still inside — again, stinking.Several pieces of furniture were damaged or broken — the entertainment unit door fell off, table lamps were busted, and there were actual holes in the basement ceiling. No WiFi access was provided With no cell service at this off-grid location, , it became a legitimate safety concern. Our messages to the host were largely ignored after check-in.This property was not at all as advertised.
