About this property
Fleetwood Studio - Unit Two
Summary:
Tucked within 18 acres of native bush in Awaawaroa Valley, Fleetwood Studio – Unit Two has been crafted with meticulous attention to detail. Fleetwood seamlessly blends minimalist architectural design with exquisitely chosen modern fixtures, bringing you the essence of island living in serene luxury.
The Space:
Fleetwood Studio – Unit Two sits within 18 acres of pristine bushland and open valley, designed with a sense of calm and careful simplicity. The architecture feels balanced, modern lines softened by natural textures, open glass, and the rhythm of the landscape beyond.
Inside, the studio holds everything you need and nothing you don’t. A king bed, modern ensuite, and comfortable seating area create a space made for rest. Every detail feels intentional, quality linen, crafted fixtures, and light that shifts gently across the room through the day.
Step outside to your private west-facing deck, where the valley stretches toward Te Matuku Bay. Mornings begin with birdsong, and afternoons slow into golden light. It’s the kind of place that feels quietly removed yet deeply connected to the island around it.
A small kitchenette makes it easy to prepare light meals or snacks, or you can pack a bottle and a board for a picnic in the paddock as the sun sets.
Fleetwood Studio isn’t just accommodation, it’s a retreat, built for breathing space and still mornings.

The Neighborhood:
Mornings at Fleetwood Studio – Unit Two start quietly, sunlight through the bush, the valley waking around you. You’re in Awaawaroa Valley, a wide, open stretch of Waiheke where vines, hills, and sea breeze all seem to move at the same pace.
Just a short drive away, Casita Miro offers relaxed Italian dining among the vines, and Passage Rock Wines is known for long, easy lunches in the sun. For something more off the map, head down the eastern road to Man O’ War Bay, where the water meets the lawn and shared plates arrive slowly with the tide.
Closer to town, The Local Café and Third Table Café in Onetangi serve strong coffee and simple breakfasts before a swim at the beach. Later in the day, stop by Tantalus Estate or Wild on Waiheke for tastings and live music, or swing by The Heke Kitchen, Brewery & Distillery for a drink and a Friday afternoon DJ set through summer.
Ostend Village is about ten minutes away, with The Island Grocer, local bakeries, and a Saturday market for fresh produce, cheeses, and olive oil to take back to the studio.
By evening, the valley quiets again, a place where the air feels still, the stars are clear, and the island seems to exhale
Getting Around:
Fleetwood sits deep in Awaawaroa Valley, around 10 minutes from Onetangi and 15 minutes from Oneroa Village. It’s peaceful and remote, the kind of place where you’ll want your own car to explore.
There are no public bus routes this far south, so we recommend bringing a car or arranging a local transfer from the ferry. Cars can be hired directly at Matiatia Wharf, and there’s private parking beside the studio.
Once you’re on the road, most of Waiheke’s top vineyards, Poderi Crisci, Passage Rock, and Casita Miro are within 10 to 20 minutes. The drive itself feels like part of the experience, winding through farmland, bush, and glimpses of the sea.
If you’d rather not drive, private shuttles and tour operators can handle transfers between vineyards, beaches, and restaurants — a relaxed way to see the island and let someone else take the whee
