About this property
Room with a Brisbane river view
A comfortable studio apartment in easy walking distance to Roma Street station, downtown, GOMA, Southbank and Suncorp Stadium. This is a simple, but bright and uplifting apartment with an amazing view, and close to the hum and buzz of Brisbane.
In the apartment:
Silhouette blinds provide a screen for night lights and sunshine, so the apartment gently brightens in the morning. A brand new air conditioner/heater allows you to keep the temperature perfect for you.
Without a separate kitchen or sink, the space does not lend itself to cooking. But there are plenty of restaurants at The Barracks, downtown or across the bridge to Southbank or West End. With a kettle, fridge, freezer and microwave you can have a cuppa, reheat leftovers, or pick up an easy meal from the nearby supermarkets. I'll ensure you have tea, coffee, cereal and milk on arrival.
The queen size bed is comfortable with an eggshell topper. There are two spacious bedside tables with easy access to multiple power points with USB A, USBC, Australian and international plugs to facilitate charging laptops, phones and accessories. Air quality is important to me so I maintain a hospital grade HEPA-13 air filter that filters dust, viruses and pollens from the air.
The bathroom has a wall fixed/hand-held shower nozzle, and I provide Sukin shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
There is plenty of space in the closet for you to hang clothes, or to access the ironing board and iron.
I reckon there is little more pleasurable than sitting at the table with a glass of wine, watching the changing moods of the river, the ferries and rowers, and the ebb and flow of traffic. If you're more energetic, take a dip in the pool. And Augusta's on the ground floor offers coffee and breakfast each day, and music, dancing and drinks on Friday and Saturday nights.
In the building:
There is a newly refurbished outdoor pool on level 2, with changing and shower facilities.
There are shared washing/drying facilities on carpark level 1 (3x$1 coins for each).
The ground floor hotel lobby area has flyers and information about local attractions, activities and tours.
Also located on the ground floor of the building is Augusta's -- a Brazilian café with great coffee and an extensive breakfast menu. It features indoor and outdoor area seating, a pool table, arcade machines, and offers live music and drinks on Friday and Saturday nights.
Unfortunately, guests do not have a car parking space nor access to the hotel gym.
In the area:
The apartment is located within walking distance to downtown, Roma Street Parklands, Southbank, West End and more. At the Barracks (approximately 400 metres away) there is a cinema, supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants and pubs. The Arts Precinct (theatre, galleries and museum) is less than a kilometre, walking across the Kurilpa or William Jolly Bridge. The Suncorp Stadium which hosts frequent sporting and entertainment events is about a kilometre away in the other direction.
The location is also central to public transport, with public scooters, ebikes, buses, ferries, local and regional trains and airport access by AirTrain. With free or 50 cent fares for all public transport (except AirTrain) it is easy and inexpensive to explore Brisbane, or take a trip to the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast.
