About this property
Kyogle Farmstay - Charming Country Cottage
Summary:
Wind back to a time of simple pleasures in this charming country cottage. Enjoy this rural property from the comfort of a modern cottage, appointed with all the conveniences yet styled with rustic charm, to remind you of an era gone by.
Soak up the glorious sunsets from your own private court yard, warming your toes by the fire pit, or get friendly with the many animals that will greet you when you step outside. The choice to relax or explore is yours!
The Space:
The Cottage is a newly constructed 2 bedroom home away from home which is ideal for couples. It is light, bright and appointed with all modern conveniences while decorated with rustic charm.
It is situated on a 50 acre hobby farm where you'll discover Belted Galloway cattle, horses, free ranging chooks, sheep, and a friendly pig called Mr Darcy.
Your furry family members are welcome to join you for your stay - our guests' dogs have a wonderful time playing with the farm dogs and exploring the farm.
A pet fee does apply to your stay and if not paid at the time of booking, will be collected upon your arrival.
Guest Access:
You will have full access to The Cottage and its small fenced yard and you are invited to explore all areas of the farm, including the fully decked out "Bales Bar" which is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening enjoying a game of darts or creating unique wood fired pizzas in the pizza oven.
The Bales Bar is a communal area, which may be used by other guests and the host during your stay. Exclusive use of this area for events or your private enjoyment can be arranged with the host.
You are welcome to enjoy the views of the Border Ranges from the top of the ridge where you'll find a picnic table and amazing sunsets.
Please respect the privacy of the host and do not venture into areas immediately surrounding the homestead. Please do not use the pool or hot tub unless prior arrangement with the host has been made.
The Neighborhood:
Homeleigh is a rural area 10 minutes from the town of Kyogle. It is made up of small farm holdings, and is peaceful and sleepy. Galloway Downs, the farm that the cottage is a part of, backs onto a ridge that overlooks the Border Ranges.
Kyogle is a small rural town with a relaxed, low key vibe and a selection of boutique retailers, cafes and of course a country pub or 2. It is known as the gateway to the Border Ranges and many nature experiences await you there. Cyclists, hikers, mountain bike riders, horse riders, it's all right here ready for you to enjoy.
Take a leisurely drive to the iconic town of Nimbin, known for its open minded residents, or head to Lismore for its arts and culture. Byron Bay is a little over an hour away.
Getting Around:
A car is needed to make your way into town as being a small country town, Kyogle has limited public transport.
Depending on weather conditions sometimes the access to the cottage can be a bit muddy - we recommend an all wheel drive, or parking down on the gravel driveway near the main home if that is the case.
Interaction with Guests:
Your host, Alicia, will be on hand during your stay to help with any questions you have or any recommendations for the local area. You'll find her number on your welcome screen when you checkin, or if you see her around the farm go say hi!
